Easy to use. Has great available storage capacity.

After problems with western digital's last batch of external hard drives that had the hard wired connectors and proprietary cables we decided to give seagate a chance. Have bought at least a dozen of these and have had zero issues and zero failure. Work fine on a mac or pc btw. Might have to be formatted if you want mac os journaled but it's done easily from the mac's built-in disk utility.

I have a laptop I use exclusively for photo editing and storage. It has now hit the 5 year mark, and while it performs well, it's getting more likely to have a hard drive crash. I bought two of these external Seagates as they were on sale. Despite their large capacity, they are very small - Not much different than a deck of cards. With the USB cable, just plugged it in and made duplicate copies of all my photo files on the drive. Then repeated for second drive. This was not a quick process due to the large number of data files, but once you get it copying, go do something else. I now keep one drive in my desk at work and one at home so in case of fire, theft, gear failure or other loss, I still have a full set of all my irreplaceable photos. This solution for both drives was about $110 with no ongoing cost like with some cloud services.

The Seagate 1TB USB 3.0 Backup Plus Slim Drive comes with USB cable making it a perfect solution for copying over my photos and other key files from my laptop computer and 4 mobile devices while on a 3-month driving vacation across USA. I was guided by the service rep to buy the 1 TB slim unit for $10 more instead of the 500 GB unit I thought would be plenty and I appreciate the guidance.

I would recommend this product for someone who needs lots of storage and ease of use.

External drive was easy to connect snd has a lot of storage. I used it to back up two computers and it had plenty of space. The drive csn be used to backup up both windows operating systems and on Apple macs. Plan on using the backup to transfer to a new Mac.
