I bought this as a gift for a family member. she's a grad student and needs convenient access to a large amount of data. The Seagate is small enough to travel in a laptop bag and doesn't take up desktop space. Transfer times are goods and 1tb of storage is more than enough.

I needed an efficient, portable and capable external system and the Seagate system met my needs.

I bought this over a month ago, and in that time it has worked just as I had expected it too. Main reason for purchasing it, was to alleviate some storage space on my main hard drive, because that was starting to bog down my speed. Hooked up this new external drive, and transferred what I wanted over to it, and boom my laptop speed increased by quite a bit. Highly recommend this product, and based on price and brand, you cannot beat it.

I purchased this drive as a back up for work. I telework often and sometimes I cannot connect to the office computer. Being able to copy files onto the drive prior to leaving the office ensures that I can continue to work when offline. I like the slim design and portability.
