I was looking for a reputable external hard drive, and found one. The Seagate is easy to use and provides a large capacity storage device in a very small package. It knows that real estate on your desk is valuable and doesn't take up too much of it. I'll definitely recommend this to friends.

I picked this little guy up for my Xbox 360 and it works great. It was as easy to use as plug and play and it is keeping up well with my game play. Seagate makes a great product at a fare price and I would get more if I needed them.

I have had external hard drives in the past, but this one is the first in which I have been able to access my files on both a mac and pc. (Other hard drives only allow you to open them in read-only format.) It's very simple to use, and it is small and easy to transport or store out of the way.

This is my third Seagate backup drive. The Seagate drives install easily and have performed exactly as I needed. I use it for automatic backup & manual backup. I use 1 drive to backup my server & 1 to backup my PC. This drive is being used for additional backup & will be stored off-site.

I set out to purchase an external memory to back up my stuff on my computer. This was so easy, small, and very practical way to backup your data. I only purchased 1TB which I figured would be more than enough for my 5000 pics and a few documents. I have much more room than what was needed.

I needed an external hard drive for a new laptop so I compared price and storage capacity among the choices available. I thought this was a good value for the 1TB storage. It was very easy to set up. Dashboard is easy to use.

It came as a shock- (okay, less a shock than "I was woefully unprepared") when my backup drive began the "clicking of death" destroying both backup and raw data. After many choice words and several attempts at deep breaths, I realized that much of what was on that drive hadn't been accessed in forever (speaking to its overall importance) and the biggest thing I needed back- my music- was able to be reversed from my old iPod back to the PC itself, I decided to pick up another external- primarily for upcoming projects I have that will be using 2 different computers. It had been 15 years since I purchased my original external, so I was shocked that the same amount of storage was now compressed (physically) to maybe 1/5 of the size. I expected some space saving, but this was soooo small, I actually had to ask the associate if he was sure this was actually a hard drive. It does everything it's supposed to, all while being not much bigger than a wallet. Highly recommend!

Could not believe the price for this unit. Was looking for a replacement cord for another brand unit. This was less money. Super compact and easy to use. The size and weight of a smart phone, which is great for anybody on the move. Drop it in your bag with USB cord and your ready to go.

Bought this before I sent my Mac off for a repair. Once you format for the Mac, it's a breeze to back up via time machine or just to back up certain files on demand. Easy to connect and pull files as needed from backups as well. Good price too for the amount of memory.

Great back up drive. I use it a lot for video editing and school assignments and it provides so much storage that I don't even have to look at how much space I am using. Very easy to just plug and use. Works with both Mac and PC, although it is defaulted for use with PC so if you have a Mac you will need to format it appropriately first. Also comes with online storage which I have yet to use, but extras are always great. Would definitely recommend. If you are planning to use this for something like your Xbox I'd suggest getting a 2TB model since games take up a lot more storage.

I purchased this drive to do a preliminary backup before installing windows 10. it worked without any difficulty and had plenty of space to upgrade three computers without danger of losing data. small, ready to use and served the purpose at a very reasonable price.

This external drive is amazing for backing up your computer. I use mine for all my go pro photos so I can have them backed up. I would most definetly buy another one just to have. The price isn't bad as well.

I was looking to expand the storage space for games and apps on my Xbox One and this hard drive did the trick! I love the slim design and quiet operation. Setup was simple and there is no noticeable lag time in loading. This is an affordable way to add more space!

I bought this item because it was a good price for a lot of memory and I was surprised to see how well it works. It transfers my files pretty quickly and a plus for me is that it does not need to be plugged in and charging at the same time. In addition, the hard drive is very compact and light, which makes it easy to carry around. I have not used the Seagate dashboard it comes with yet, but it is a good concept and I will use it when the time comes. Overall, it is a great product so far and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a quality hard drive on a budget.

I purchased this to back up files on my personal computer. This works without a hitch. Very easy to move and organize files-docs, pictures and music. Not a massive piece of equipment to have. Definitely a needed item for your home computer or even the office computer.

The Seagate Backup Plus Slim USB Drive is easy to setup, install and use. The user interface is intuitive and makes backing up data a snap. It is also a convenient and easy to use medium for transporting data between locations and devices. The 1TB capacity is more than adequate to meet my needs. The compact size makes storing the drive in a smaller safe or fire box a snap. Seagate dependability at a great price. A real value. I'm glad I bought this particular unit and I highly recommend it.

Bought this because I was tired of my clunky externals. This is small, compact, and works perfectly, just like all my other Seagate hard drives. Easy to set up and lightweight enough to store and carry around.

Bought two of these external drives based on recommendations by The Wirecutter. Too soon to say about long-term reliability, of course, but initial experience has been excellent. Smaller than the LaCie drives I'm replacing, and these Seagate drives attach with a single USB cable (unlike one of my LaCie drives that required two USB cables -- one for power, one for data). I added rubbery outer shell for a little protection while transporting but more to keep the drives from sliding around on my desktop. So far, very pleased, both with the drives and with Best Buy experience.

This drive is so tiny and stores an amazing amount of data with a screaming fast interface! My wife uses it to store her Lightroom library to go between two computers and the USB powered bus makes it far easier to plug and play. Seagate is the only brand I trust.
