Cheap insurance as a backup drive

It's not slow, its not fast, it's average and that's all I was looking for. So far so good as i (a) haven't needed to use it yet and (b) the times I have checked the data on the drive I have found what I hoped to find.

Then I discovered that there was a free app the allowed the Macbook Pro read NTFS formatted drives. I installed that app, it worked perfectly, and returned the drive because it was redundant since I already owned a portable 1 TB Lacie drive that both platforms could use.
