The transfer rate is awesome. Was able to transfer 18 GB in less than 2 minutes. It is compact and pocket size. Easy to carry and store. Fully satisfied.

I use these to back up video files while traveling. Easy to carry a few of these in a backpack to assure I have plenty of backup storage capacity.

I wanted to consolidate over 10 years of pictures onmultiple external hard drives. This had plenty of space and a smaller footprint

I use this drive mainly as a photography drive for Adobe Lightroom. The amount of storage and speed of the drive more than meet my needs. I created a 1TB partition to back up the drive on my Mac Book Pro while leaving plenty of room for working with the RAW image files and building collections and sets for my clients that I can keep with me as well as backed up on my network at home. My laptop had no issue encrypting the drive and I was surprised by how fast it was when I formatted it as encrypted.

This hard drive was the best deal I could find that satisfied my need for space, as well as the need for portability. I've had desktop external hard drives in the past that weren't so portable, and despite careful usage they ended up failing on their own. I feel that this drive will last me much longer. It feels sturdier.

Went to the store to buy a drive for my Mac. Found one in the aisle and it was priced the same as a PC-formatted one. Unfortunately it was in the wrong spot. I stuck with a PC-formated one and with a few simple clicks I had a Mac-formatted drive at a fraction of the cost. Seems to be built well. Have never had problems with these drives. I have 5 or so. Wish they came with a case though.

This item is small and compact. It has a great deal of storage space. It is perfect for storing all my precious photos!!!

I have really been impressed with this little fellow so far. Very thin and light but can hold a lot of info. very nice.

I bought this one to replace one i bought a few years ago. It has much more space than before and at a better price

My PC bit it. This contains my memories. Photographs of friends that have passed on long before their time. Sound bites and videos of my beloved dog. Who saved my life more times than I can count. May she spend her eternity playing and relaxing. But you don't want to know about that. Here is the gist. Just get it. Save yourself the heartache and fear. I have no idea how this magical little red box actually works. I'm guessing faeries are inside. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. My system DIED. Big time died. So dead it deserves a full Viking Funeral. But that's an entirely different story. The great kids that work for Geek Squad both online and in my local store helped me back up all my photos and sound bites that are irreplaceable. Between their knowledge and expertise and the Seagate Backup Plus 4TB. I am all set now. Thank goodness. Seriously, just get it.

I was looking for something to store my photography session on backup and free up space on my computer.. I have already put tons of pictures and documents on it and barely put a dent in the storage space. It's not bulky and Easy to use.. My only regret.. Not buying a bigger TB just cause.. ;)

I have had this drive a couple months and its been excellent. Portable and tons of space, cant complain.

My iMac's Time Machine external hard drive stopped working, so I bought this. It was so easy to get going...basically I just plugged it in and it started backing up my iMac immediately. It's half the size, 4 times the storage, and a lower price than the old hard drive. What's not to like?

I needed a portable drive small enough to put in a laptop bag and also with enough space to hold lots of raw video and pictures for editing later. This drive works great for that.

It's a nice and compact external drive with 4 Tb of storage. I haven't had a chance to use it much yet, but it seems to be very similar to the Seagate 2 Tb I have, which I like.
