Worked great for awhile then quit backing up after warranty expired.

I bought two of these for myself as a Christmas present. I have all of my son's baby photos backed up on both. This helps keep my laptop's hard drive space freed up. Easy access. I left one formatted as shipped so I can also save things from my mom's PC. The other I formatted for Mac so I can get a good data size reading to be sure I have everything copied over before I delete from my Mac's drive.

Thought the drive would last awhile; it stopped functioning

I have many external drives and this is the only one to ever have problems. I had copied sensitive data and the files are unreadable. I ended up using windows repair tools to get it to finally work but now I don't trust it.

Product is reliable and a good value for the price. We've used both the Seagate drive and Western Digital, and the Seagate is easier to use and more forgiving in that having made a mistake with WD, it crashed and was a nightmare to recover data, whereas the SG was much easier.

Read most of the reviews and most seemed complimentary, WARNING: Instructions say that using drive with Time Machine will not allow for any other use! WASTE! Should be clearer in the description from BestBuy.

I purchased the Seagate 5TB backup plus and the product worked for 2 months and has completely failed. Lost all my data. The technical sport technician was not helpful. I am returning this product for a refund.

This was a waste of money for me. Have never been able to make it work properly. Western Digital has always been easy for me to use....maybe I just don't get this Seagate.

As your data needs increase... so does your backup needs! Nice to have finally broken the 4TB in a consumer model external drive. USB 3.0 is a standard, nothing super special about this drive. It looks sleek, performs well, does what it's supposed to.

Purchased the drive to provide external storage for my Xbox One. It is working great and I have no complaints. Great amount of storage for the price. Drive is quiet (although it is a fanless enclosure, so one would not expect a great deal of noise).

Spent two nights trying to move my stuff to the new HDD then realized this is not what i'm looking for, the older models where more stable and faster than this one.

I had bought that and exchanged a new one already because it has a problem with safely removing, but the new one I exchanged still have same issue.

States it works with Mac yet has very limited support and doesn't auto backup. went with a dedicated Mac hard drive

Have never been able to sync phone and iPad, which was the reason I purchased the product, total junk

It suppose to be 5TB, but because it needs the System info, etc, it ends up having 4TB available only.

It's a piece of junk. Seagate support is awful. I won't my money back!

Transferred 2 TB onto it overnight, and the next morning it was not working.

Bought it for the Xbox one, lots of space but doesn't have a on/off button so it can get hot on less given it enough space to air out. WARNING: do not put it on top of Xbox one because it can get the console hot and the HDD hot.

The size is good, not obtrusive. It's fast and I can use it for both my Mac and PC.
