I was a little frustrated when I couldn't get the WD drive in my local store but picked up this 5TB Seagate instead. Great Value and has not let me down after 6 months of heavy video editing and transfers.

amazing what else is it to say.? gaming storage is great, im getting a XBOX ONE so yeah this is a must.

I purchased this for the size but the quality forced me to return it. I put several hundred GB's onto it. It took all night due to it slowing down gradually. In the morning, the drive was at full spin but I could not access it. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and resumed my transfers but it stopped writing. It never would stay connected. Seagate suggested my motherboard chipset is to blame on my month old computer. Never will I purchase a Seagate product again! I exchanged it for a Western Digital external drive and it's been running perfect ever since! It only took an hour to transfer what the Seagate took 9 hours to do. Seagate lost me as a customer.

This is second one of thees I have bought. This is a great drive. I use one on my Mac for graphic / video production and the other on my X-Box One as game / media storage. They are fast and reliable so far.

I needed a lot of storage for archiving video productions. I am very pleased with this product. It holds all my productions and still has free space. I have had good experience with the Seagate brand.

I bought this because I have a Mac and a PC so I love the fact I can use it for both and not have to reformat the drive. So far it works as it should.

This is a great performing external drive. Seagate is good at well-priced but reliable drives.

This drive was complicated to encrypt during set up (I'm not great either this type of thing), but super simple once that was done. It's a super great value!

Previously I used a WD My Book 4TB External USB 3.0 as external storage for my XBOX One. The WD corrupted only after 2 months of using it. At first I thought something was wrong with my XBOX because I had to continually do hard restarts on it but soon learned that all my games (1TB) were corrupted. I have used the Seagate for over 2 months and I have never had any trouble with it. No crashes no hard restarts!

Have had no issues with. Lots of space and got it around Black Friday for a relatively low price.

We bought this item back in October and immediately transferred all of our photos, videos, etc. on to it. After we heard about others' horror stories about losing their data, we purchased Seagate's Rescue Plan to help protect our data should the hard drive fail. Fast forward 2 months and the hard drive failed. We contacted Seagate's Rescue Plan to file a claim and was told that because we hadn't had the Rescue Plan for 60 days we couldn't file a claim AND our issue was now considered a PRE-EXISTING CONDITION! Oh, but good news, we can get our money back for the Rescue Plan. NEVER EVER BUYING SEAGATE AGAIN!

really good hardrive still working as of today when i first brought it

The automatic backup is terrible: same data stored many places; multiple clicks to get to any where to then find anything. I called support and they said it could not be altered or fixed and they realized it was a problem. This unit is ONLY good for manual back up. Don't load the automatic program on your computer or you will be sorry!
