Great Price for big hard drive, good Brand and easy to setup

For some reason it is slower some times when I copy huge files from laptop..or else everything is fine.

This Seagate 5 TB drive cannot be detected by the software or the router via a USB on a router; I have a Netgear nighthawk AC router. The software is a bit poor as the iPhone app does not even find the 5 TB drive connect to the PC. I would have given it 3 or a 4 star , if the iphone app would have worked. I am returning this drive back. The support is available only Mon to Fri 8 am to 6 pm CST, which is a little poor in my mind; they should be available on weekends too. It is good only as a stand alone USB connected back drive only via a PC. I have another seagate 1 TB slim drive, that is recognized on the network and works well on the network too.

Good external hard drive easy setup, easy transfer of files

This is actually my second Seagate external drive. I was very pleased with the performance of my first drive, and so far this one has the same overall build quality. The only minus is that when spinning up to speed it can be a little bit noisy.

My new Macbook Pro USB port works perfectly fine with every other accessory. Yet, the finnicky nature of this item + it's cable led to an aborted transfer if even the slightest nudge of my laptop. The worst part - the thousands of files that transferred over beforehand were then fully lost. After starting over 4x - I finally gave up. Additionally, this item feels fragile and sounds like a car engine on it's last leg right out of the box. In summary, there was nothing in my initial experience that would lead me to trust this item to hold my most important files. Returning less than 24 hours after purchased.

I bought the Seagate backup plus 5 TB based on promises on Prior experience and display box. I have an HP computer running Windows 10 with a 2 TB drive installed. Could not install Seagate dashboard. Decided to use Microsoft backup software. Backup started... Failed about 1-2 hours in. Process did not finish successfully. Ran Seagate diagnostics. Short test completed ok. Called Seagate technical support. Talked with four support personnel for over an hour with them logged onto my computer. They suggested I might have a bad drive and that exchanging would be the best option. Same problem with second Seagate backup plus. I believe Seagate has over promised what they can not deliver.

I bought this instead of the WD My Book equivalent. I like that it lays down flat instead of standing upright. I guess that's personal preference, though.

I purchased two of these my is working fine so far but the one I gave my husband just stopped working after 1 year and 3 months. We can not get anything on this hard drive it is lost.

I was looking for a drive to backup my computer as I transitioned to a new one. This drive is super fast! Obviously lots of space...

I bought this to be used for more memory with my xbox one. Works great. I only wish that the usb supplied the power rather than haveing to plug it in as well.

Easy to use external Hard Drive. Fast transfer speeds to make backups a breeze.

I use this for my X-box one and it works great. only complaint is that it has a need for a power source unlike the smaller sizes
