Was considering a 4GB for 10 bucks more, when I see the price I said OMG¡¡ Great adquisition for the given price (less than $130) Matter in fact I took two.

we needed a big drive quickly to prevent loss of data on a failing internal drive. This one worked great for that purpose. Although it was difficult to find in the brick/mortar store as it was not with all other external drives.

The SeaGate 5 TB portable hard drive is a high quality product at an affordable price. We have four other SeaGate portable hard drives with various capacities.

very easy to setup. when I was finished setting it up it showed that there was 4.5 TB available instead of 5.

We needed a "right now" large storage device until we could correct a server issue. This was the perfect device for the job. Quick set up and lots of space.

Good amount of storage for the cost. I use it as a backup to the Personal Cloud. The Personal Cloud had an update and I didn't want to update the device without first backing it up as suggested prior to starting update. I would recommend the Backup Plus Hub. The Hub version has USB 3.0 connections so you won't lose the USB slot if you have many USB devices you need plugged in. This will take a USB slot on your device, the Hub has 2 USB ports on it that you can use while plugged in.

Super fast if your using it to it's full potential on a usb 3.0 port but also backward compatible to usb 2.0 not sure about 1.1 haven't used that standard in years. Price was as good or better than any online deals i've seen.

The Seagate 5 TB works great and gives me all the storage I will ever need! It will work on older computers with USB 2 or with newer computers using USB 3.

Very easy to back up photos and videos,its compatible with Samsung such as downloading photos but if you download videos they can not be seen in the external drive.

My son loves this- he can download ALL his games and never have to delete one because he needs more space.

speed is what it should be given this is a spindle ie.. .the USB converter controller is not slowing it down. can get a little warm, no notable noise

It does what I need it to. Just simply plug in the power, the usb cable, and it automatically installs the device drivers and voila, more storage.

Good amount of storage space, but purchaser needs to make sure they have a USB 3.0 outlet on their computer for this cause with this much data, the USB 2.0 is very slow

Bought as birthday gift for family member and he said he loves it. Very easy to use. I liked the price. Was better than the 3TB Seagate external.

Very easy to inbox, plug in and start using. Backed up all my old files, pics, and old DVDs. Plan on buying another one and backing up my backup.

This is capable of holding lots of data - I use it to save all of my photos and as a added bonus I was able to backup some of my other data as well.

In the past, I've purchased a few other Seagate 3+TB drives and have never had an issue with them. This went on sale recently and the price for 5TB of storage was just too good to pass up. I ran up to Best Buy and purchased it the day it went on sale. IT has the standard USB3 micro cable that most of the other drives today have, and has the same power supply that my other Seagate drives have had for a few years now. If you need a storage drive, this is great to have around!
