This is my 8th back up drive and my largest. As my drives age and files get bigger, I not only back up my back ups but need more storage space.

Great hard drive at a great price. A lot smaller (dimensions) external hard drive than what I was expecting. In this case, smaller is better.

I purchased this as my main archive device and it is working very well. USB 3 connectivity is fast and the drive has been very reliable.

I haven't had long but so far it is working great. For the price I paid this is an excellent deal for a 5TB drive. I've had other drives by another company (starts with W) and they died a few years later. So far my first Seagate is still working and is older than the others by about a year, so here's hoping this new 5TB will last just as long.

Seagate is known for its reliable external hard drives so I chose this brand to backup photos . Set up was a breeze. So far it's been great.

Hard to review this piece of hardware. It is exactly what you would expect from a "plug in the wall" hard drive. Huge space, USB 3.0 and done.

I bought the drive and didn't use it for a couple of weeks. When I did use it kept saying that certain files were corrupt. They weren't important files, so I let Check disk fix them and it said all was fine. This kept up, so I knew something was wrong. After moving all possible files off the drive I tried to take it back, but it was past the time Best Buy would exchange it, so I went through Seagate and all went well, but it cost me $13 to send it too them. The silver lining to all of this was that Seagate didn't have any 5TB drive available, so I got a 6TB instead. The 6TB has been flawless. In the end use it right away and if you have any trouble take it back. No matter who makes it there will always be some bad ones.

This is exactly the size and speed I needed for backing up my important data. So far so good. No problems to report so I'm very happy.

This product is used as a secondary backup for a bank of internal facing dev and test servers in our datacenter hosting facility. For the money, you cannot beat the amount of storage as of 6/2014. Very fast, easy to setup, just plug it in.

I now have enough space I will not need anything else for all my pictures music and other things I will need throughout my school needs

This hared drive is both portable and stationary dependent on your needs. It setup so easy and we didnt have any issues loading drivers...
