You cant beat the price for this drive. Great for storage.

An excellent way to increase storage for pcs or laptops. Very easy to setup and use. I can easily transfer pictures, video, songs and data from my laptop, tables and phone to my new hard drive.

Right now, the hard drive is liable. Sometimes, the hard drive is slow when transferring files.

I own several of these now and have plans for more. They're well-built and dependable, not to mention FAST when hooked up via USB3. Perfect for archive and library work - or just to back up your computer. Personal Peeve: I wish there was a way to open the casing as I do my own computer maintenance and repair work.

I’m not computer savvy. We put files on here and have been unable to get them off because it needs to be formatted. I have a friend who did this for me, but he’s even having problems retrieving the files from the drive. It was probably done too hastily on our part when attempting to clear off the computers. Hopefully, we’ll figure it out or have to pay someone to retrieve the files.

Lots of storage space for a very good price. Best Buy even matched Staples current sales cost.

I wanted to use this drive with both PC and Mac, but I had to format it as mac-only to get it to work with my mac. Now, I'm no commuter genius, and I suspect there probably are many ways to do that, but they weren't readily apparent to me. It IS working fine with the mac.

The Hard Drive is a good value external drive. I use it for storing of photos and video.

I have been using this drive for backing up important data. I have more than 5 of this unit and have not seen any failures. A little slower than the WD drive but consistent and no errors.

It's very straight forward and easy to use. Have Not had any problems with it so far. Very simple set up and was backing up my computer files shortly after plugging it in. Great value!

Great price for the size but it does make some noise that worries me about the longevity.

It's nice and quiet. Transfer rate for back up was a little slow, but overall its good.

Great Hard drive, the only minus I can think off is that, the HDD requires to be plugged into a power outlet and doesn't power just from the PC's USB connections. It's not a big deal but could be when you need to use the HDD but there is no power outlet close. Apart from that everything else is perfect.

I have purchased a number of external hard drives over the years, very often Western Digital as they tend to be very affordable. I picked up this Seagate model when I needed a new, larger drive and I've been very pleased. Unlike the WD drives, I never have issues with the drive being recognized by my computer. File transfers are speedy and never seem to freeze up. I have a media server set up in my home and a lot of the media lives on this drive, so it's important that it's dependable and fast. So far, it's the best drive I have purchased and the next time I'm in need of more storage, I will likely look at another Seagate model.

Excellent backup drive. I have always been pleased with Seagate drives. Although some features are missing from previous generations, such as LED drive capacity indicators, I still am happy with this drive. Capacity is great, quiet operation and small footprint make this a worthwhile purchase.
