5TB backup and no need to plug in. Great backup drive. Plug it in and forget about it.

I passed on the backup function to use this drive just for storing audio and video data. Operating now for several months in my motor home, no problems yet. The drive has tolerated more motion and thermal changes than it would in a house. I'd buy it again.

This a nice and fast drive. I love how quiet and fast it is. The only down side is the activity light is hard to see but it's very discreet which is also nice at the same time. Honestly wish I didn't have an old drove at home so I could have 2 of these.

Drive is easy to use and plenty of room for my pictures and videos

I wonder if it's a 3.5" drive, because I was going to buy a Seagate 3TB bare drive and an enclosure but this 5TB in an enclosure was cheaper. I'm never buying a WD drive because they have 256-bit hardware-based encryption on all of their enclosure's controller boards. This drive uses an easily broken USB3 micro B connector. The enclosures I buy use the study USB3 type B, but no company dares make a drive with a sturdy plug. I'll see what it is in 2 years, after the manufacturer's warranty runs out.

Bought this 'cause I had points expiring in 2015. Still working well in 2019. The USB 3 is great as is the built-in sensor for On/Off operation. As soon as the desktop goes to sleep, so does the hard drive. No complaints.

This external HD is perfect for housing my music and movie collection and all of the photos I take. I shoot RAW, so the file sizes get quite large. As a repository, I will use this for many many years.

So far so good... Time will tell if this drive can sustain a healthy life. Fingers crossed

I was deciding between this and WD. This was more expensive but had 1 TB more than the WD. Decided it was not what I needed so I returned it.

This back up drive works great and is very quick. Easy to use and can't be more happier.

The hard drive does everything that it is supposed to do, and it is speedy over USB 3.

Easy hookup and start up out of box. Large capacity stores all files I needed to backup.

After using this drive for several months, it has performed flawlessly. No data loss. Easy set up. This may seem like a trivial thing, but the power cable is long enough to reach the surge protector power system set up on the bottom shelf of my tv stand.

I use seagate products already and I automatically upgraded to another larger size.

I forget this drive is there. This is how it should be. I have struggled with drives that have issues, from disconnecting to many other problems. I have no issues with this drive, so much so that I forget it's there. This is how I like my hard drives.

Being able to easily back up pictures and business documents provides peace of mind!

Very good product when editing video files when using Sony Vegas and DVD Architect.

Seagate leads on external hard drives on my opinion
