Seagate's software does not seem to work with my laptop and Windows 10. The built-in Windows back-up facility works well, so don't l base your selection on Seagate's software. The hardware works well, although the real test will be long-term durability.

Use this drive for backup and archiving purposes with my Windows 8.1 laptop. Does work just fine, even reasonably over USB 2.0 after the USB 3.0 port on my laptop had died...

This is a very good external high capacity HDD, external power supply provided. Is not dependent on USB power only. Some external HDD require two USB ports to function properly. Something to watch out for if USB ports not enough on laptops, etc.

I can't give an honest revel yet since I havnt opened it but I got it for my xboxone...now I'm thinking it's to big so I plan to use it as a back up for all my data. The price was right 140 during Nov 2014...but im sure as the month go buy it will only get cheaper.

You can never have too much storage. With 5tb to play with, this external provides plenty of space. The only criticism I have is drive speed. 5400... Wish it were faster....

Do you want the best deal if so this is the one for you. The price is right and you can save everything you want on this one drive without filling up your internal hard drive.

I bought this hard drive to be used for automated backups with Windows 10 File History. It's been in service for about a month and everything seems to be working fine.

I needed something compact and responsive to hold my video files from FinalCut. This seems to do the trick. Plenty of storage, and good response time. Excellent price!

I needed to move files as well as have a back up drive for my Mac. This fit the bill without breaking the bank. Obviously it has a lot of room, and the price was great.

Very good external hard drive in that it is quiet and unobtrusive. It is quick to open up and there is no lag time at all when saving huge tif files from my mac. Great buy.

Seagate has the most stable and reliable drives! My company has been buying for years and bottom line, they do not crash.

I got this to expand the 500GB memory on my PS4. It works perfectly. It was plug and play with the unit and adds more space than I'll ever use. Highly recommend.

i would give this 5 but im a novice and not sure how it should be working, and everything i was hoping would go into this unit, and have it look like it does on my PC, but i will have to hunt for it, but i do believe its doing its job,
