I use it as a centralized backup hard drive for my other computers. It is connected to my router and so far I have had no issues. Would recommend.

The 5 tb Seagate Desktop external storage device is a good addition to the home computer to store digital photos and information. No problems so far.

My wife is a photographer and finding a reliable way to store her photos. This met all the requirements plus had an extra terabyte for just in case.

I bought this to put all of my photos for Lightroom spread out across three hard drives on one. The speed is good, it's quiet, and has plenty of room.

The hard drive works well for my needs - plenty of space. The only quirk is that it likes to turn itself on after the computer has shut down. I leave it unplugged much of the time to save it from unnecessary spinning.

Great for storage of files. I get several magazines that I store electronically. Saves me storage space when I do not have to keep the paper copies

Works perfectly. Auto shut down when computer goes to sleep works perfectly which has not always been the case with WD drives. Good fast drive with huge capacity

For the price, this was the best value I could find. We use it as an expansion drive for our Xbox 1 and have seen no slow downs. I'd recommend it.

I purchased this due to it being on sale. I am pleased for the most part, we are a multiple OS household, because of this I am unable to use Time Machine for scheduled backups and instead have to move things manually.

I had external hard drives all over my house, this was my answer to getting 1 central back up and a cloud back up for my smart devices as well

Using at home as an archive for my QNAP NAS. So it is stationary. Was priced right. I often worry about carrying one like this with the smaller connector that this has on the enclosure, but stationary - no worries. It is fast, and just worked flawlessly for my needs right out of the box. Has an Power indicator light, but it is on top, would prefer on the front. Seems to have heat vents on sides and bottom. Has feet on wide bottom side, which keeps it off the heat vents. Only negative, light is power light only, not activity indicator.
