The main feature that I like about this external drive is that the drive motor turns off when I power down my computer. I have had drives that did not power down the motor which hastened me to buy this replacement because my first drive failed. Otherwise, like the size and speed.

Really like this external HDD easy to set up and use. Does not take up space nice and quiet.

It's a little noisier than the 1T that I've been using for a couple of years, but it definitely has more than enough hard drive capacity than I'll ever need. This is the third Seagate External Hard Drive that I've bought. The first one petered out on me a couple of years ago but I still trust the brand and look for Seagate anytime I'm in the market for a hard drive whether it's internal or external.

I bought this drive to use with my android tv box, and it is absolutely perfect in size and speed, The USB 3.0 makes this drive super fast when transferring movies or tv shows for viewing, and the size is awesome because it holds tons and tons of movies, it is also super quiet for an external drive, I highly recommend this drive if you want speed and space for your movies and shows! Absolutely love it.

The drive has amazing capacity but don't count on it for using as a scratch disk for any heavy multimedia creation. I am currently using it to serve as a Time Machine and Media storage; it serves great for this purpose. The read/write times aren't the fastest but the USB 3.0 definately makes this better than just an archive drive. This drive replaced a previous 3TB backup plus that failed after 3 years.

Great hard drive that runs usb 3.0. The box and website show a rectangle hard drive however, when opened you will notice one side is smooth and the other has an uneven diamond pattern. The only issue that the pattern would cause is if your using a raid system and need to stack several to save space. I am glad this was available for the price of the 3tb because you almost lose a TB due to the format.

It is very easy to use and price is great for 5 TB. Great for back up your stuff.

I needed a backup drive for my ever growing collection of photos so my search began on line. I decided to stop in my local Best buy to farther investigate. They had a number of drives on display but I decided to go with the Seagate because of modern looks and the largest capacity for the price. I had also had good luck with Seagate drives in the pass. I will be buying a second one in the future.

This is one of the nicest external drives right now. I was able to get this on sale and I do not regret it. It comes with a 2 year warranty as well. Most externals now come with a 1 year. The drive is solid and reliable. I have used Seagate for years and the 1 time I had a problem, I was able to easily replace the drive. It's not a backup unless you have more than 2 copies on different drives.

The reliability of drives by any manufacturer are suspect today and a drive this large for deep storage should make anyone nervous. This does run fast on 3.0 port for large video file transfer. This is used as a redundant drive to another brand. Does not run hot

This lives up to my expectations of a Seagate hard drive. Reliable and affordable.

5tb at a great price. Performance is consistent and works with both Mac and PC.

Looking for extra storage for large video files with fast transfer speeds. Excellent choice if you need to use the drive in tandem while editing even from a laptop. I've used other Seagate drives and this is the largest capacity so far. They really stand up to continuous use and I've yet to have one fail.
