So good, I bought it again

After a bit of a problem with some rain water, I needed to replace it. This drive has fantastic access time. Even though it is meant to be a back up drive, it functions perfectly as an everyday external.

Reliable backup solution

I haven't had any issues with it or the included Seagate Dashboard backup software. Incremental backups are relatively quick, but full backups take a lot longer.

Good but not for Windows XP
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hoping that this 5TB drive will work with Windows XP out of the box, as did the 5TB one I bought 2 years ago. Unfortunately it doesn't. The older generation of the Seagate Backup Plus 5TB has a built-in chip that allows Windows XP to use the entire 5TB out of the box. The newer drive only works with Windows 7 or above.

No problem getting it configured and formatted. The build quality of the case is decent as well. Thinking about getting another one!
