I purchased 2 of these to replace a couple "other" brands that are competitors. These have an intuitive backup software and are superior for the money! The online reviews all list this as the most bang for your buck!

not the best experience with this product, I'll probably give it another chance

I had a previous disk, but it had a problem, but i took it back to bestbuy and had no problems at all, i just exchanged it for a new one and they handled it. It's a great company. The product works perfectly and with a good speed.

I have transferred all my photos and videos to this hard drive. The transfer was easy and I feel I have taken an extra layer of protection to preserve my photos. Excellent experience and outstanding product.

I got this item to expand my xbox one drive....I'm also planning to get another one this black friday coming to install it my router to set up a cloud. It was easy to setup and got a good price as well.

Purchased the Seagate 5TB usb hard drive to use as an offisite backup solutions for a non mission critical server. With Veeam Endpoint Backup (Free version) and this drive my backup plan is complete.

I got 2 of these hard drives to back up my photos. I use one as a redundant backup and hsve had no issues. Nice simple design looks good on my desk stacked on top of each other.

Be forewarned, this is a really reliable drive but I've had consistent read/write problems with Seagate 5TB drives -- the first ten minutes of heavy data transfers run great and then it slows down considerably. I use my 4TB Seagates as working drives and these as backup drives.

Very good build and internals I was not a fan of Seagate for several years as i lost alot of data around 2010 and 2011. They have definitely improved there build quality of there PCB and heat systems for the Controller on the board. I will be using SEAGATE products again

I'm a photo student slowly growing my photography business. So far it's doing it's job smoothly. Fairly good upload speeds. No issues mounting. Also, the fan is ridiculously quiet. Great purchase.

I used it to back up my old laptop before selling, as well as a Apple time capsule hard drive. Works incredible for both and this thing transfers data INSANELY fast! Id buy again if needed!

We were replacing a dated hard drive capable of backing up several gigs, the Seagate External drive was recommended by a member of the Geek Squad. The Drive is very dependable and quick.

I wanted an external hard drive that would house all of my photographs and movies. Not too large, so could easily be portable (even though it's not marketed as such). The only complaint I have is the connector cord. It is cheaply made. The metal end already bent.

Very easy to use and setup. I backed up my small business server and setup for a recurring nightly backup. All the data was in place when I went in to verify that the backup worked properly.

This was purchased as "cold storage" for another backup device. It properly wakes from sleep mode each night for a backup routine to sync, and then goes back to sleep until needed.

Just install the software and forget about it, if you choose to! I was surprised at how long it took to do the initial back up even using usb 3.0. But so far everything's working great.

I bought this hard drive to replace another that was full to capacity. Transferring 2.5tb took a lot less time than expected. Works well and have not experienced any problems.

This is a reasonably priced alternative to some of the more expensive HDs. It is fast and looks good on the desk. It just seemed to be less than 5TB but I guess they all are.

Got this drive to replace an external that was clicking. It's worked wonderfully.The backup software is a bit slow even for backup software but besides that it's great!!!

Formatted NTFS - requires 3rd party driver for Mac OS X. Seems to work fine. My only complaint would poor identification of the drive externally (have to turn over and get a magnifying glass to read S/N, P/N, and model, and no indication of capacity).
