This is essentially 2 Samsung 2.5" 5400 rpm drives in raid 1. Which is a known fact. So it is a 4gb capacity, 3.5 GB usable after format. Which is great for capacity, but the size is also that of 2x 2.5" making it quite large. Also enclosed in a metal enclosure, which thanks to raid and 2x drives heats up quite a bit. Found after 30 min or so, it is uncomfortably warm. And once it starts to heat up, transfer speeds are throttled to slower than a single drive. So I returned mine. Maybe a defect, maybe not.

I have been very pleased with the performance I've experienced using this portable external hard drive. The 4TB capacity makes it capable of storing pretty much everything in my catalog. I've been using the drive over 6 months now and have had no problems whatsoever.

I have a Mac and normally you can just plug in a drive and use it. With this it needed you to use the software that you download onto your computer to use it. Once I called in and had them walk me through how to change that so it was a open drive instead of locked it has been perfect.

I have 15 years worth of photos plus the entire Lightroom CC 2015 catalog on this drive that I keep in a case with my laptop. It can't get any easier than this.

Good size, very fast product. Only gripe I have is it makes a loud beeping noise once in a while. Not sure why that is.

When this item is on sale for a mere $199.99 it is a must buy. Work like a gem and stores endless amounts of mutlimedia files to condense having to have multiple 500 GB, 1TB & 2TB external storage drives.

Very fast data transfer. Uses a lot of power so if using a laptop while moving data, it should be plugged in.

This product was a great buy for me. I needed a drive that could backup all my important files and this did the trick. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a back up drive.

Had used up all my laptop's memory with my music. Transferred my iTunes music library to this Seagate Drive. Set up so all my music additions go directly to the drive. Works great!

If you are looking for very portable backup storage at a great price, this one's for you. A 4TB external drive in a tiny enclosure with no need for power adapters, make this a must for those on the move or with limited space to put drives. Highly recommended.
