Hard drive was big enough to fit everything on it and process was easy but has to be plugged in outlet as well to work.

We have owned many Seagate drives over the years. The only reason we have had to get new drives is because we needed more storage space. None of the desktop Seagate drives we have owned (probably at least 10 or more) have ever failed for us. So I am happy with the performance of Seagate desktop drives, including this latest one we purchased with the 5 TB space.

This is exactly what I was looking for to backup all of my Mac's. With builtin Time Machine it is as easy as plugging it into the USB and letting it do its thing. The 1st time will take a little longer depending on the age of your Mac. My oldest Mac Book was from mid 2012 and never had Time Machine run s it took abut 6 hours. The latest Mini-Mac for the boys took 30 min. Perfect product for my needs.

This drive holds a great deal of data and allows me to keep the drive on my computer from filing up.It is very simple to use.

I purchased this product for my daughter to use as she is attending an Art & Design College. She is in a photography class and other classes that utilize photography within them. With all the pictures that she has taken and will take in the future, this product will help her store, maintain and organize her photos as well as other files she will need to store or back up.

I have purchased hundreds of external hard drives over the years. What I like about this one is that it is less likely to be knocked over while in operation. One of the main reasons for data loss is hard drive shock while in operation, with this design that is less likely to happen. And like most external hard drive this one functions well and would be recommended.

This is probably one of the wisest purchases I have made this year. It is a HUGE hard drive and it automatically backs up ALL my photos and personal videos from my iPad, my iPhone, and my Mac! What more could anyone ask for?

Very easy to set up. This is my first time ever buying a Mac so I'm in New Territory. This product is being used to store pictures for professional photography. So far so good good upload speeds great download speeds. It does everything I expected to.

Bought the Seagate after reviewing other available external hard drives. Positive reviews were helpful in the decision making process. Ease of use and setup a plus. The drive is still almost brand new so will see how it holds up to time and use.

Once I got it home I saw that it stated is was for a Mac, but that proved irrelevant. I'm running Windows 10 on an HP tower and this is connected via USB 3.0. Transfers are fast and now I can load up so many more videos into my PLEX library.

Overall, this was a steal. I researched this product & similar to find the best deal for my budget. Customer service was on point and transaction was painless. I've been using the product and it works perfectly. The only issue was that I had to format partitions for my mac but that was a breeze.

I need more and more storage for my huge family movies almost 3T. An extra copy is better insurance since the drives do fail and with little notice. I wish you were still making FireWire drives since I have a 2008 iMac so can't take advantage of usb 3.0. It takes 2 days to make a new copy...

I use one for my Time Machine Backup and the other for my Carbon Copy Clone. These HD's have worked flawlessly. They have never unmounted like other HD's I've used. I am totally satisfied and would highly recommend this product.

Biggest struggle with back drives is the speed. This drive is excellent. Well made enclosure and the drive itself is a 7200rpm drive. Most externals are 5400 so you have to check! Performs quickly over the USB3 connection.
