As the title says, quiet, cool, inexpensive...and it's fast enough to stream movies, which lets face it 5tb is designed to do. Also great for archiving. So why a 4 and not a 5? It's power supply is external. I have too many of those already.

I needed to move images from a PC to a MAC. This hard drive worked seamlessly. I was so nervous making the transition but i was able to move them, read and write them on the new MAC.

We he's this for all the photos from my wife's business. It is perfect for the high volume, high resolution pictures she takes.

I purchased this after reading the outside of the box and seeing its capability to do mobile backups, view files on the Lyve app and work as an external HD for backups of my Mac and other storage needs. I was able to use this device as an external HD, no problem. However, the Lyve backup and viewing capability was not as easy to setup, or use. So in the end...it just ended up being a large external HD. This was not what I wanted it for, as I was looking for mobile backup options, per what it advertised on the box. The device itself is plastic and scratched while setting it up. It is rather large and unsightly. As a connected HD, it does its purpose, but it was returned for not living up to the expectations I had for it.

Price is worth the performance. This was a Mac ready hard drive not dual for PC but not a big issue just download the PC driver and you are good to go.

So far so good. For the price, drive size and build quality, this is a great value! My second 5TB Seagate drive this year and very happy with both.

I do not run mine 24/7 so I don't have some of the problems that others have. This is my second seagate (other one got full) and I like them fine.

This is my 2nd external hard drive by Seagate and feel fully secure in the knowledge my photos and files are safe in case of computer failure.

I've purchased several Seagate storage devices. The support software was easy to install & use, durable portable HD, Great support plan if needed. I recommend this product.

Installation on iMac was simple plug and play. Very fast and easy to use. Didn't need any extra software to use. Would buy again.

Since I switched from PC to Mac, I needed to buy a new backup hard drive. It's been a long time since I bought one but amazed how cheap memory is compared to 5 years ago!

Love this drive -- easy setup, no issues. Speed has so far been fairly good for an external, single, large-capacity drive.
