The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I haven't had it long enough! I bought it to replace another back-up drive that was showing signs of failing. As far as I can tell it works fine. The only shortcoming I'd say is that it only came with a USB interface; it would have been nice if it had had firewire 800 too. I don't use any of the supplied software -- no need. It's used with a couple of Mac's.

I needed to back up my data on my computer and the tech recommended that I get a an external hard drive to do so. He suggested that we use a Seagate Backup Plus Slim with a capacity of 1TB/TO. This would allow us to backup our data about every 1 to1-1/2 months.the product seems very good.

I am using this unit on my pogoplug cloud back up and thus far have had no issues with it.

Lots of room on this external drive to move and back up a lot of files from laptop. Like the portability it allows to just plug into other computers and pull up files.

I'm happy that I picked the Seagate USB external drive. Perfect for backing up my notebook and temporary file storage. Fits nicely in my notebooks shoulder bag's pockets.

I use this to save dvr movies on and bring them with me so I don't eat up space on my laptop. Got tired of lag issues on viewing some of my dvr shows over wifi. Transferring movies to the drive is super fast using usb 3.0. Takes less than a minute for a 3Gb file!

Love how slim and portable the device is. I use this one for my pictures and it is very convenient! Plan on buying another one to use in car for music since you can plug in with USB!

This is plug and play. It formats it self. If you can read you can handle this product.

The drive is fast and holds a lot of data. Exactly what you want in an external drive. It is slim and lightweight, but doesn't feel fragile. The cable is solid as well.
