Storage capacity is good for the price that I paid

Simple set-up and streams quite well across the entire network. Connects to all computers, XBOX, PS3, although some file extensions are not supported, I think it's more to do with what it's being streamed thru at the time.

Setup was easy and download app makes it available in the go. Uploading has been a challenge with large files. Wanted to b able to move files from iPhone/IPad to free up space when at sporting events but it's not working out so well. Takes to long to upload then fails quite often

The Seagate personal cloud storage will secure the photo that mean so much. It will enable me to have access to all of my many photos I make in case there is a failure on one of my electronic devices. I recommend the Seagate.

I bought this with the expressed purpose of accessing it across the internet, which I could do...just not that well. Llinking to it thru Seagate's online interface allowed streaming, but uploading & downloading are limited to 1 file at a time. no folders or multiple files. Online access is allowed for 3 years, after which a yearly fee must be paid to maintain Seagate's site access. Streaming High-def seemed fine, but local network access speed was fair at best, and Windows lost connection to the drive at least once a day. This item has since been returned in lieu of an internal & an additional external drive.

After having a few external hard drives fail on me I feel that I can trust Seagate products! I have only had success with these items.

I like that I am allowed to create a custom back-up plan to fit my needs for when and how often I want my laptop backed up. The cloud features are also nice but I haven't been able to successfully access my files from a remote computer.

this is an easy to use and setup NAS drive to deliver Media files to PC,MAC,IOS, and SAMSUNG TV. I have this installed in my house and deliver movies photos and music to all the rooms in my house. I can also access this device remotely via phone or computer using the internet.

I wouldn't consider myself a professional, but I am very tech savvy. The way this operates, I was hoping to be able to access this from anywhere to watch video files or listen to music I have stored on the drive. While the app does allow you to access these, when you add new files, sometimes it takes days before the files show up in the app. Not sure why. The only other way to access these files is through a web browser, but on a phone or tablet it is not the fastest. I was hoping for something a lot faster and easier to use. Still great to use on my network at home, but not great for accessing when away from my home network.

This unit was an easy setup and so far has worked very well. I have had no problems with it at all compared with other's I have used.

I bought this device as it got CNET Editors Choice and it was on sale. I found the functions fairly basic and limited. Yes, you can plug in an USB Drive, but can't use it except as local network drive and each folder is accessible only by the user and system that created it. The Smartphone/Tablet applications can only access the basic internal drive, and remote access is unreliable. From my further research, WD My Cloud is a better value in this price range.

East tow use. It is great to access to my files when I am not home and am on a wifi computer.

Works as advertised, must be done correctly the first time, otherwise will need to reformat.

Does exactly what I wanted, shares files on a local computers and devices (also over the net with the app). The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because the app on the iphone isn't the best and crashes alot. The app on the Roku unit is great except that it has volume set really low and not sure how to change that.

I wanted a place to store my music and some other data so that my main computer would not have to be on all of the time with a shared drive available. I looked at way more expensive NAS devices, but was't ready to pull the trigger on many hundreds or even thousands of dollars for the device and the disks. This little guy was reasonably priced so I went for it! Setup was very easy and it has plenty of capacity for what I need. I found that the web interface was a little hard to follow in a few places - mainly stuff I don't intend to use like the internet sharing (which lets you access the files from outside your network if you want.) I also wish they would include some easy way to backup the data on the device to a cloud backup service. Given that they are a storage company it seems like this would be a no brainer?

I bought this to store all the photos we've accumulated since my family started using digital cameras 9 years ago. There are just too many photos to keep them on any one computer. It allows multiple computers to share the same drive, so it not only provides a place to keep the photos but also provides a way to share photos with other computers. You can also access the drive remotely via the web. I set this up in less than 20 minutes, and everything worked the first time. However, this is not as simple as just plugging a drive into your computer. As I was following the instructions it wasn't as clear as I would have liked it to be so I wasn't sure that I was following the steps correctly. There should be an introduction that explains the installation process.

Seagate has a solid product here. It has lots of storage space, is easy to use once its set up. It allows you many options on how/where to download your media and documents. Its a great alternative to Apple's iCloud application and here you have total ownership and control over your files.

I have Macs at the office that are using an older operating system than the manual states this drive is compatible. However, it works flawlessly. I'm very happy with the performance and functionality.
