Great Price for huge storage. Reasonably fast for a spinning drive. Cheaper than buying the drive inside it outright.

A huge amount of storage for about $12 per terabyte. Anthing less than $15 per terabyte is a good buy. Drive works as advertised,

I have several portable HDD units with a total capacity of 12 TB, but since I have many pictures and videos I was getting out of free space to cover my actual and future needs. This HDD is perfect to me. It has enough space to acomodate all pictures and videos I already have, and give me lots of free capacity, so I will not worry for sometime. For the sale price I paid, it was a terrific deal. I'm very satisfied.

IT'S READY TO DOMINATE THE WORK AGENDA AND PLAY HARDER WITH THE 24TB OF SPACE. EITHER YOU DO ONE THING AND OR SPLIT INHALF TO MULTITASK FAST LOAD TIMES WITH GAMING OR GET THAT BACKED UP WORK ASSIGNMENT READY TO WIN OVER THAT TEACHER / BOSS. THIS IS A WIN IN MY OPINION, THAT IS BUILT TO LAST.

So far so good! I ran CrystalDisk and other utilities' quick tests and it's all good. Incredible price at Best Buy, well below $15/TB, tax included, and quick delivery. I have not done what would be a very lengthy deep surface scan of the disk, and I do note the absence of ports for other USB devices, which other external hard disk 'hubs' often have.

After a lot of searching and comparing, this was the best bang for the buck in terms of price for 24tb. So far it's been perfect, which is to be expected from Seagate anyway, but being assured backup files are safe is the most important thing. With Seagate, it's the safest decision you can make.

So far so good... using as Linux backup server

Few weeks of usage - using as a physical backup of last resort for the home server which I also backup to the cloud my ZFS raid. Reformatted the drive as ext4 to preserve Linux permissions and had no issues with that - the backup of last resort is just using rsync with a snapshot weekly.

Large size, pretty quiet operation, seems fast. I bought this to back up my NAS, as my old USB hard drive had gotten too small to back up the data. This Seagate is big enough to back up everything on my NAS and I have plenty of room for growth.

I purchased two of these. The first one I opened has been running just fine for months (9). The second one had to be returned and replaced after just 5 days of use. It just quit working and was no longer recognized. Tried it on multiple systems with the same result. Best Buy replaced it thanks to my Best Buy Total Plus membership and I was just backing up to it when this happened. So I don't know if this was just a one off fluke or not. I would suggest any new buyer give it a run with non-important data for a week or two before trusting it. 24TB is a lot of data.

Not quite as fast as i had hoped. Generate a lot of heat. Ive read the nice business class drives have been replaced with consumer models. A quick set of tools has confirmed this is a simple barracuda drive and not a enterprise class drive. This change seems to have happened around rhe new year

It is NOT 24 TB. Only 21.8 TB.

I have no issue with the item itself. What I do have an issue with is that it is advertised as 24 TB, even on the box itself, and the total free space is 21.8 TB, which is 2.2 TB less than advertised. And no, there is not stuff preloaded that takes up 2.2 TB. The files on it already take up 31.5 MB of space.

I have several small Seagate portable hard drives and never had a problem with them. I purchased the Seagate 24TB for all my files to back up several times a week. I haven't had any issues and only heard it wind once at the very beginning of connecting to my Apple Mac mini. No noise in the background since!

Hard drive is worth it for storage.

Hard drive comes with the expected storage minus the 1tb or so. It is faster than other hard drives, but it does fluctuate a lot in speed. had a range from 45mb-550mb. Most of the time it is quiet, every now and then it would make a slight noise, such as when it is reactivated from sleep mode, or new files are being transferred or added to que.

Good speeds (for a hard drive), makes a decent amount of noise (but it's a hard drive so you have to expect that). Not portable at all since it needs an external power source and it's very fragile. This is a stationary device. Good option for home NAS when on sale ( I got the 24tb for $260).
