Not for windows 7 backup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It looks like a good hard drive if you are using it as an "expansion". I moved files from other drive and it was easy and fast. However, if you are thinking to use it for Windows 7 backup, pick 2TB or smaller. After all trouble I had, I found following article at Seagate website: "Microsoft Image Backup in Windows 7 will not support Seagate 3TB and 4TB drives (along with most other external drives above 2.1TB)." This Seagate Expansion 3TB does not come with any software so If your OS is Windows 7, you have to find backup software. I would give 5 star if the issue was clearly stated at the item description.
