I recently picked up the Seagate One Touch External Hard Drive from Best Buy, and I couldn’t be happier. This drive offers fast USB-3 data transfers, huge capacity, and plug-and-play simplicity—perfect for backing up photos, videos, games, and important files. Best Buy’s pricing was very competitive, especially compared with other retailers, and the checkout was smooth with friendly service. Setup was effortless, and the drive feels reliable and built to last. Overall, a great price and dependable purchase backed by Best Buy’s solid customer support!

Overall does what it needs to do. I have been running this Drive since I opened it June 8th 2023, today is July 6th, so almost a full month. Its been on running since the day I got it. Drive has about 584.6gb of space left after I moved over 2 4tb Drives to it. I have not had any issues, running an EXT4 filesystem on it, mostly just for Plex, Music and Media/Editing. All my other drives are Western Digital, but iRonWolf has definitely wanting me to give them another try in the future. I got it because it was Cost to TB made more sense. Hopefully the Length and quality of the drive holds up. I back up regularly but would like to clean out some of my older drives, to add new content and media to my library. Works quick enough FOR ME for editing and managing files. My Original Transfer from my 4tb drives did take quite a while not entirely sure of the speeds, but just set it and forget it till I hear the Door Bell on it being done. I would definitely consider getting another one in the future, and would recommend. Price per TB but I tend to stick to NAS Drives as my computer running almost all day everyday. One thing I believe WD does better is the Packaging of their drives. WD Packaging seems way better than Seagate. I keep the boxes for storage as I like to keep them labeled and organized if I need to find something later in Life. Happy Data Hoarding

Lots of choices to be had in the hard drive market but cutting corners on on your choice/purchase of one shouldn't be one of them. The Seagate IronWolf NAS hard drive series are almost as good as it gets and has earned a top spot in performance and reliability. I have 12 of these drives in a RAID 10 external NAS enclosure used for shared data and backups. That works out to a usable 46TB of storage. Five of them were purchased at Best Buy. No drive failures yet but with RAID 10 if one (or more) do fail, you simply replace the bad drive with a new one and after powering the device up, the drive gets automatically rebuilt. Doesn't get any more easy than that. All that said, these drives are a bargain considering their longevity/MTBF. I wouldn't hesitate recommending these drives to anybody. The Seagate IronWolf NAS Pro (even better specs/performance - costs more) is also a great choice if you have deeper pockets.

I've chased these things everywhere. Last one Best Buy had, unfortunately. I needed 4. Good price but they tacked on an extra $10 something for shipping. Found One on Amazon for $246 but pulled some underhanded stuff and upped the price to $319, AS I WAS CHECKING OUT! I had heard of that but didn't believe it. Was supposed to be the only one they had but I found a way around their tricks and got 2 for the $246. Newegg had one "new" one but when it arrived, I registered it and the warranty expired in 2024. Saw a couple of videos on You tube about repurposed ones being sold as new and when I looked closely I saw scratches proving it was obviously in something before. It was sealed in a mylar bag and looked legit at first. Newegg said it was from a marketplace vendor. I returned it and Newegg is supposed to issue a refund. Back to Amazon again after deleting cookies and not signing into my account and found 2 more for the $246. At least Best Buy was straight up and gave me what I paid for. I've never been much on conspiracy theories but after this experience with Amazon I'm rethinking that. So, short story long, my new Qnap DAS enclosure is up and purring like a kitten with my 4 NEW Seagate Hard drives. I should mention that Seagate is aware of the resale issue and is not responsible for it. I will advise caution when buying drives.

I’ve consistently chosen Seagate IronWolf drives because they offer the best price-to-performance ratio on the market. This 8TB model is no exception—fast, quiet, and built specifically for NAS environments. I’m using it in a personal storage server, and it’s been rock-solid so far. Speeds are excellent, and the drive runs cool even under load. For anyone building a NAS or expanding their home server, this drive delivers reliability and value you can count on.

The drive works as advertised works very well do not expect it to be quiet but who cares about that if you have a Synology system like a ds223j you will see all the information from the drive Seagate and Synology are together in sharing information way deeper than just smart data I had a Western digital 4 TB black and a Western digital 8 TB red plus drive whatever Enterprise stuff I have shr enabled personality to give me a mirror but you can use it to have two mismatched drives and still work it will just cut back to the lowest drive so I lost 4 TB off the 8th that's why I got the Seagate to give me eight and eight across the board which it had no problem reinitializing after a while if it just beeping a blue light flashing realizing hey the drive was replaced eventually then it came up I went on the web browser and it was perfectly fine the rebuild I have no problems it's very fast between Western digital and Seagate I might switch out to another Seagate drive just for the heck of it the nice thing about Synology shr if you're using it is you can actually level up OneDrive at a time basically taking steps of that way you can go from an eight to 16 to etc etc however you want to do it just realized the rebuilding takes a long time

It's probably one of the best options you'll find for reliability (so far) and price per terabyte if you catch it on sale. It's a little clickety out of the box - it's not the quietest drive I've ever had but it only seems to do it when you're starting a copy job or it's powering up after not being used. Transfer speeds are good. It's 7200 as opposed to 5400. It's CMR and not SMR which is nice. Shouldn't be so hard to figure it out from readding the description. If I didn't know it was CMR going into the purchasing process I probably would've skipped buying it but that's not a reflection of the drive or the manufacturer, it's the retailer. Price is ok for what you get. It's no bargain, but it's ok.

I bought this HDD new. I use it as an archival storage. It runs quiet and cool. I've used it with both Windows 10-11 and Linux Mint Debian. No problems. There are some great technical reviews online about this drive. I'll just say this. I think in many ways HDD's are superior to SSD's for long term storage. Even if the the Write/Read head on a HDD goes bad, the data can still be retrieved intact from that drive. On a SSD, if that drive goes back, it's a lot more problematical to get your data back in the form that it was stored. I'm no expert so I'm open to being corrected.

In 2019 I purchased two Seagate Ironwolf 4tb drives for my Drobo NAS. My drives performed well, running non-stop for 5 years until I recently upgraded my NAS to Synology...so did my drives. Purchased two Seagate 8tb Ironwolfs to match the other two 4tb, haven't had any issues or drive failures. Stick with the faster 7200 speeds, huge difference as compared to the 5400. Best Buy also had the best cost, and I shopped around too.

For the price to quality and reliability ratio, this is probably the hard drive you should go with for home use. Could you find a hard drive that technically has higher reliability ratings? Sure. Would it cost you a lot more? Absolutely.
