If you need 1TB of portable slim storage that looks good this is the drive. It is USB, easily portable and case seems tough enough to throw in your bag and go. Performance wise this drive is great. It has the performance you'd expect from a USB 3.0 drive. I've attached my Crystalmark run from my PC. Large files it gets 126 MB write, which I find to be about what I'd expect from a Hard Drive, esp. a portable one. I've had no problems with it. To further test I copied the game Echo to the drive and ran it from the portable HDD on my laptop and I didn't notice any issues while playing. Setup was plug and play with Windows 10 and my Kids Chromebook. I'm happy with the performance. The packaging has a nice look if that matters to you and the housing is solid.

This drive is marketed for Chromebooks, and works great for Chromebooks, but can also be used with virtually any system that accepts usb storage, including laptops, PCs, MACs, XBOXs, Playstations, tablets, and even phones with the appropriate adapters. Although you have to keep in mind that transfer speeds will be different than advertised based on adapters used, and the connected devices. There is not much in specs on the box, as Seagate does not typically offer the same types of specs for portable storage like they do for their internal drives. Their website does indicate that this drive is formatted in exFAT , for more of a plug and play feature with more types of devices. exFAT is also a much lighter system than NTFS, and able to handle larger drive sizes over the traditional FAT system, up to 4GB capacities. After confirming with Seagate tech support, this drive is in fact a Hard Disk Drive, not a hybrid or Solid Sate Drive. Although they didn't have much more to offer than that, it's probably reasonable to assume that this is very similar to their 2.5" internal laptop drives that run at 5400RPMs. When I asked Seagate what the actual drives data transfer rates were, they basically said it was 5 Gbps (Giga bits per second), which is the max data rate of USB 3. Keep in mind that when most manufacturers are talking about data speeds they always use bits instead of Bytes. (1 Byte is equal to 8 bits.) I did run some speed tests on my Chromebook, and laptop using the included USB 3 cable and USB 3 ports. I am including pictures of the results. I was also able to transfer 6 GigaBytes of data per minute from my laptop to the drive. So far I am very pleased with this drive, I love how compact, and stylish it is. It's pretty easy to carry around with me for sharing larger data files with ease. I have not had to do anything more than plug it in, to use it on several different devices.

I wanted to extend my PS4 storage and decided to use an external storage HDD. Enter the Seagate - Mobile Drive. PS4 had zero issues seeing it and after a format I've moved all the games I wanted off the internal drive (mainly the smaller Indie games) on the Seagate. It couldn't have been easier. The real test was how the games would play off the Seagate and I'm happy to say they played great. I've always been a fan of Seagate and again I was not disappointed with one of their products!

This Seagate Mobile Drive for Chromebook uses 3.0 USB for fast transfers. It's thin and lightweight for easy carrying along with your laptop in a case, backpack, purse, or even a pocket. The included cable is short also so carrying it isn't a problem. Plug and play. My laptop had no problem recognizing it and I had my laptop backed up in less than 3 minutes from plugging it in. The actual backup of 2.81 GB took less than 2 minutes. With 1 TB of space, I won't be filling it up anytime soon. You can choose your preferred timing for backups from every 10 min. to daily with the default set at every hour. I chose aqua as I like the color, it also comes in white. It is compatible with Chrome OS, Windows 7 or higher, Mac OS 10.11 or higher.

This portable hard drive is just what my Pixelbook needed. I have 128GB of storage on my Pixelbook which is plenty for its purpose. I generally use this laptop as a travel laptop since it's lightweight and relatively small. With this hard drive though, I can now bring along some of my music and videos whenever needed. Also whenever I need to offload some pics from my DSLR or video from my GoPro, I can do so easily now with this hard drive. Only downside for me was that I needed to get a new cable since my Pixelbook has a USB-C connector. No biggie though. Great little HD for the money and it looks pretty nice too.

Useless, since I have not been able to move files to this device though my Chromebook

This is a good Hard drive. It is exactly what you would expect. Sizing is good at 1TB and utilizes USB 3.0 backward compatible to 2.0. It was instantly recognized on several systems running Windows 10 and my Chromebooks. I really like the texture on the exterior. It's easy to grip and not shiny which is great for a mobile device! I do wish it had a USB-C connector for a bit more flexibility. Speed testing I was able to transfer a local file of 7GB to the drive at a steady rate of 127MB/Sec. And speed test also confirmed the same(see attached pic)/

I like the style of this drive - it is thin and slim - a real shirt-pocket-sized drive. I spent some time with various benchmark tools and was able to get impressive transfer rates (hovering around 130 MB/s for sequential reads and writes). I attached screenshots from two tests with CrystalDiskMark below - other tools yielded similar results. Actual results transferring large (movie) files back and forth between computer and drive yielded remarkably similar results (never a transfer that averaged below 120 MB/s!). That's really all that matters here, right? I did a lot of testing with huge folders of many small files - and my results are hard to compare with the uniformity assumptions in the benchmarks but I was delighted with my results. This is a slim backup drive that is reliably (consistently) very fast. A fantastic backup drive!

Attractive little color panel on this Seagate external drive. I'm using this with my Laptop because our pixel Chromebook has is USB C connectivity, so I will need to find an adapter or proper cord ( USB C to Micro B 3.0 Cable ) before it will work with our Chromebook. The included cable is as stated for a USB 2 or 3 to USB Micro B 3.0 I transferred 100 mb to it in about 7 seconds and then deleted them even quicker than that. Seagate give you plenty of storage a two year warranty with this drive.

Great budget external HDD USB 3.0 compatible Xbox Series S. Note: It will not run enhanced Digital Series X/S games. For older digital Xbox One S games, digital Xbox 360 games, and original digital Xbox games works well for the price. This external drive will provide a little breathing room for the transitioning budget gamer until the Series X speciality SSD memory cards lower in price.

Great purchase, this storage hard disk is working great and easy to use. So far all good.

I bought this in hoping it would work with windows. And yes, yes it does. I looked on the box itself, stated for PC, Mac, and Chromebook. Not sure why it's worded like that for the product. I transferred 300 gbs worth of games, steam, to this hard drive. Worked perfectly fine! You literally plug it in, and you're done. Plus on sale for 49.99, couldn't pass it up!

very easy to use and easy to install. Very lightweight and compact

I needed an external drive to make a time capsule backup of my MacBook before upgrading the OS to Catalina. This drive worked perfectly! All I did was plug it in the USB port and the MacBook recognized it and asked if I wanted to use it for Time Capsule. It was incredibly easy and I am very happy with its performance.

backed up from my old windows machine with no issues, no problems getting to the files on the new chromecast. great value for 1TB. very light and slim, color is as pictured. i'll update if it develops any issues as it's used.

Bought this because I couldn’t connect an older one that I had onto my mac. Apparently after being used with a PC previously, it refused to do anything on a MAC. Therefore I bought this portable one and I love how quickly it works and connects to my Mac. I’ve had absolutely no issues transferring photos, music, videos, movies, or files back and forth. The best part is that it is so tidy and slim and lightweight that it could easily fit into a back pocket.
