This is a perfect product to use with some many devices in my household.

I have a Mac with Fusion allowing windows to run as a file. I also have a separate pc I had to purchase to run the latest versions of UPS world Ship. I needed a way to back all this up. Altho I love my Apple Time cApsule, in terms of both capacity and ability to handle my backups, it is limited. I was advised by Apple to not back up my 100 Gig plus Virtual Machine file to the Time Capsule because any change to the file required the entire 100 gig not just changes to have to be backed up. Hence my SeaGate personal cloud working wirelessly. I can schedule backups of the PC but must initiate the backups of the Virtual machine/windows data on the MacBook Pro because of file architecture. Any speed bumps were handled by a prompt, competent and courteous support organization. Peace of mind has returned!

Even though I Like some of the Removable drive NAS best, but for the price of this unit, I have NO Regret. I love the Seagate Dashboard and the Seagate Media, though they both need some improvement. So far so good, I have never experience any lagging or connection issue with this Drive (Even More responsive to Seagate Dashboard then the Personal Backup Drive). Great Product.

This product met all my expectations for backing up files, movies, music and pictures. The price is not going to break the bank either and it is network enabled. easy to access your content from anywhere in the house.

Getting this set up was a breeze for the average joe.

Shows up in shared network great and fast on PC. MAC takes time and sometimes doesn't load in shared. If Seagate can help MAC work, it would be great.

This Server is a great investment and is easy to use

I purchased this because I was sick of moving my external hard drive back and forth every time I wanted to listen to music or watch videos. For the most part, mission accomplished. Not great when it comes to remaining connected through the wi-fi connection, but the problems have been fairly limited, so no big complaints.

Great easy to setup and very afforable. Thinking about getting a second one. Remote access from anywhere plus you can daisy chain them together for tons of storage.

Requires an update to see the device on a MacBook Pro in finder window.

It was a good system just pain to transfer mass amounts of data to it and lot of loading times when trying to stream it to other systems... it might of been me and not setting it up right but did what it said and just didn't seem to work right where i had a good streaming video from it

Good as a music server and good for movies. Samsung tv removed their app but the drive does exactly what it should

If you're thinking about spicing up your home network this is something you can definitely benefit from. All of our computers in the house perform daily backups to my drive over the network and I do have to bother carrying it around attaching it via USB. Storing my music, photos, and videos makes it even easier to stream to all the devices in the house.

I am able to watch my videos and view my pictures on my LG and Samsung TV's.

This cloud server was very easy to set up, once I remembered that I was going through a cable modem/router, which I had to treat like a proxy server. I am able to access all my files, including music, from any remote internet connection, just as if I was on my home network.

The concept of this system is great but in practice it just didn't work. Setup is accomplished by connecting the drive to your wireless router. Once the drive indicates it is connected, you interface with the drive via a browser based UI over your network. I was able to connect to the drive from my iMac but the drive would drop after a few minutes. Turning it off and back on fixed the problem but it occurred every 15 minutes or so. Trying to troubleshoot the problem I realized that even the software UI, being served up from the drive, was up and running and also reporting that the drive was off-line. After conducting some on-line searches I found that several others have the same issue with no real solution. I returned the drive to BestBuy and purchased the Western Digital WD-MyCloud system. It has worked flawlessly and is easily accessed anywhere on the web from my iPhone, PC at work, etc. I'm sorry the Seagate drive didn't work out. They've had a great name in technology for years. Perhaps they'll figure out the problem.

Works as advertised by the manufacturer. It's easy to set up.and use.

I bought this larger external drive for my network to connect to. it works great. it is reliable and the drive is able to upload and download really fast so even watching movies from it is no problem. Really like this and highly recommend it
