Unit is functional now after spending almost 2 hrs on the phone with customer service to get the issues worked out and get it updated. That alone is sufficient to knock it down to 2 stars. It works for videos but does not retain the pic, so you need to clearly label and preferably save the video with a picture. Playback can be a bit choppy, particularly for the first 30 seconds. I was told that this is due to the iPad Air's picture resolution that should be revised to a lower setting to avoid lag. Have not been able to save music on the unit, so that is disappointing. Entire process of saving videos from iPad or iPhone to the drive takes substantial time, and even if you can still access the Internet via the Seagatr connection, you don't want to because it's at dial up speeds. Thus, you end up toggling back and forth between Internet connection and Seagate Wireless connection. Power dies quickly so you are constantly charging the unit. Finally, connecting to iPad or iPhone can be hit and miss, as that process often needs to be repeated.

This device is great for streaming media to multiple devices at once. Performance is excellent and the storage is HUGE.

Did my research and read reviews before buying. Works like it says and haven't had any issues with it. The wifi feature is pretty handy. Can keep the hard drive locked up in my safe and can still access it from my living room.

Easy to use. Great external storage unit. Purchased to store photos but now have documents and info I would carry in a metal file each time we evacuated during hurricane season.

This was great for the price. It has a huge amount of space for photos, including RAW photos from DSLR cameras, and has a built in batery so it doesnt always have to be plugged in.

Storage on the go without an Internet connection. Great performance , no hiccups

This external drive was very easy to set up... Synced right up with my ultra book and I-Pad Pro. WiFi data transfer to I-Pad Pro is good.

I had the displeasure of acquiring two of these items in the last few weeks. The first Seagate Wireless drive that I got had an issue with its on-off button. Sometimes it did not want to shut of and sometimes it did not want to turn on. In addition, the wi-fi signal it produced was spotty at best. Against my better judgement, I exchanged it for the second Seagate wireless of the same model. That too had it's share of issues-most notably was its poor battery life which drained to only 30% + after being on standby for about 8 hours. It's literature and advertising says that it is capable of 25 hours on standby.

Good hard drive with large storage. The autonomy is not so good.

Hook up device using USB to download all your favorite files and use it on the go as your private server via its own dedicated wi-fi connection. Works great with Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
