Took a long time to get it then the Blu Ray disc failed Midway thru the movie the DVD played all the way thru so that's a plus

Penny an ordinary house-wife inherits her fathers horse farm. And instead of selling it she decides to fix it up and train some horses. The main one being of course Secretariat. Then she remembers how he loved racing the horses and decides to give Secretariat a try in the races and they do really well. They are the underdog in the situation but its a touching story about how it all comes out and she defies the odds of being an only woman in a " men's" sport. Diane Lane, John Malcovich are very good. Sad at times, but you find yourself rooting for Secretariat the whole time.

I loved this movie! great true story - everyone has heard of Secretariat, but I didn't know many details about the owner or horse, so it was really fun to find out more about the history behind the great athlete. I thought the actors did an amazing portrayal of the time period and characters. I loved seeing such a strong female persona pursuing her dreams, especially during the times when females did not normally take on those roles.

I first rented the movie, before purchasing it. After watching the movie the first time, I immediately had to purchase it. This movie is great for the family or any horse person. The movie is based on a true story about the magnificent Secretariat. The story is very inspirational and the races have you on the edge of your seat til the end. I watch this movie over and over, and never get tired of watching it. This is easily one of my all time favorite movies, and I highly recommend it.

I loved this movie! I loved it so much, I paused it and posted to my FB profile about it while I was watching it! If you like horse movies, this is definitely for you! If you like dramas, it's also a good movie. The storyline, the acting, the sequencing, the horse races were realistic looking. Made me excited for him to win even though I knew it was just a movie, and I knew he would win because of history. I still cheered when he won.

THIS MOVIE HAS IT ALL: THE TALE OF THE GREATEST RACEHORSE IN HISTORY AND A TOUCHING STORY ABOUT THE FAMILY THAT BRED HIM. A BETTER CAST COULD NOT HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO PLAY THE ROLES OF ALL THOSE INVOLVED. THIS MOVIE IS FUNNY, INSPIRING, EXCITING, EMOTIONAL, AND MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE ACTUALLY THERE IN PERSON TO WITNESS THE STORY OF SECRETARIAT.

Even though I grew up during Secretariat's great races, I was moved by the total quality of the film. Our entire family loved it. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Disney's films.

This is one one best movies I have seen in the Last 5Years you find yourself routing for him. Even thought you know he won the Triple Crown Races

Excellent story and plot. I am a racing fan and remember this horse very well. This is an engaging story and tells it well.

My family and I rented the movie first. I went the next day and bought a copy for our movie collection. You can watch this movie again and again. Its a must see and you dont have to know anything about horses to enjoy.

THE OVERALL STORY OF SOMEONE WHO TRULY BELEIVED IN THEMSELVES AND THERE ANIMAL IS HEARTWARMING. GREATEST THING OF ALL IT WAS BASED ON A ACTUAL PERSON AND THE GREATEST RACEHORSE IN HISTORY

Went to Churchhill Downs and saw where it all happened. Beautiful horse.
