If you liked dark souls, you will love this game. It is difficult, but rewards you for figuring out enemy weaknesses. Controls are tight, graphics are amazing, and the area designs are great.

this game can be hard as nails at times. However this is a very fun game with controls that will need to be mastered before being able to see the end. If you enjoy dark souls type games, this is a no brainier.

Yes it's difficult and you might quit often. But stick with it. Not close of being done but not giving up. Great environment and controls. Never played a Dark Souls game so can't compare. Fun game!

Great graphics, amazing sound design, good story. One of the best if not the best Soulsborne game. Though as nails as expected. Only problem is the uneven framerate due to frame pacing issues.

As the summary states, if you are a fan of Dark Souls/Demon Souls and or Bloodborne then this game is for you. It’s set in ancient Japan, a beautiful yet dark setting. Challenging yet rewarding.

I have been putting this game off getting this game for a while but after seeing it runs in 60 fps on the Series X and getting it on sale for Black Friday it was too good to pass up. The gameplay is buttery smooth and I rarely noticed any hiccup in the frame rate so far while playing on the Series X. While the Series X may be lacking in launch titles there's so many backwards compatible games that are vastly improved on it and this is definitely a shining example of one of those games. Highly recommended if you own a Series X and enjoyed any of the past Dark Souls games.

It is the most difficult game I've played in a long time. At the same time it's one one of the most beautiful games I've played.

Sekiro explains more than other SoulsBorne games, but the combat takes longer to adjust to. But once you get the feel for it, this game is super rewarding, even when it’s challenging you. It’s the most fulfilling game I’ve played in years.
The visuals are excellent, sound design is very immersive, and the gameplay is visceral.
Be warned, there is no easy mode, but stick with it and you won’t care.

As you probably know, this title is a difficult experience. However, if that’s part of the appeal for you, you’ll also find a great story and compelling characters waiting for you, too.

Different from the Souls games but still full of action, this game will test your patience. It demands that you learn the gameplay well, which is kind of cool.

By this point, you should know about what you're getting into if you're picking up a FromSoftware game. Sekiro is difficult, in some regards more difficult than Dark Souls or Bloodborne, in others less so. It is often more accommodating towards Quality of Life stuff like having a save point right next to a boss, instead of forcing you to slog through waves of enemies over and over.
The combat is probably the best sword gameplay ever made. It's incredibly responsive, grounded, and visceral. You will truly feel like a Shinobi by the end of the game.

Classic souls like game. The game is difficult but very rewarding once you finally get past the hard part. Graphics are great and game is pretty long. Not for the feint hearted

From Software explored their Dark Souls franchise by pushing the boundaries in two different directions. Bloodborne was the game where they made offense essential to the gameplay. In Sekiro, the designers created the game under the premise that people learn how to block/parry effectively to gain the upper hand. The game is absolutely beautiful, set in Japan, and has wonderfully designed bosses that are all majestic to look at! Strongly recommended, and it's GOTY 2019 by many reviewers!

I unlocked my final achievement last night, so I can confirm that I have given this game a fair amount of playtime. It is very very well made tho much different from the "souls" games. The combat is faster than Bloodborne, and the traversal is honestly amazing. My only gripe is that it is a bit to light on the horror/fantastical elements, and the story is fairly generic. The Bosses are so hard, almost too hard. but when you finally beat one your are stuck on... the feeling is incredible!
