This movie brings to life what occurred fifty years ago when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. strived for change. At the same time, we get a glimpse into who really was willing to assist Dr. King in his efforts for a peaceful movement. And, we saw how television played a role. Everyone should watch this movie!

I absolutely loved this movie. I didn't get a chance to see it in the movies and I couldn't wait to purchase the dvd. This movie is a must see. Everything from the script, the history reference and the actors was excellent. This dvd is a must have for your movie collection. This dvd is worth the money.

Selma was very inspirational saw it with my husband. We liked it so much we took a group of young adults from my church to see it. They were really into the movie. The following Saturday was all got together to discuss the movie. Was great to hear them interested in something that happened in the 60's.

Selma is a must movie to see for all interested in the Civil Rights Movement. This film shows how people of denominations came together for Civil Rights.

Great movie. Good plot. Lots of in depth things went on in the movie that is very outstanding. Told a lot about that era and how one got along with the going on in the U. S. During that period. It really isn't that much different now.

Great history lesson for me! I learned more than I thought I would have such as the marital affairs of MLK Jr. I called my mom afterward to ask about the affairs depicted in the movie and she confirmed the rumors. I was like, WOW!

I think this was a very well-done movie has a lot a history of it. I remember those times and what happened in those times and I think this brings out a lot of the bad things that happen in that time and brought out the good things that happen that time I suggest everybody see this movie.

Important movie back in the history of the civil rights movement to secure equal voting rights for black people in Alabama against white officials, beating and brutalizing black people who want to exercise their Constitutational right to vote. This movie is a good experience to watch.

This movie (on DVD) is written acted and directed in a believable portrayal of the struggle that black Americans in the south faced as they peacefully protested the injustices of the State and local governments.

This was such a great movie on the civ rights movement in the country and a glimpse of the life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It helped me see the struggle that he had to go thru to try to get equal rights for black people. I also loved the soundtrack to the movie.

This is a very moving and inspirational film. From my studies in college and independently, this was very close to being spot on. The film will leave you feeling and knowing just how hard the fight for freedom and equality was. Get your box of tissues out. A+

This movie is a very good movie. I am so glad that it is part of my collection. Sometimes we need know the struggles today are no different from those of our ancestors. The only way to be truly heard is dependent on how you get your voice out to the public.

This movie is a must see of the story of Selma, Alabama and the unforgettable walk across the bridge for equal rights. This depiction will remind you or move you on this historical event in our time! A must see movie for every family member to watch.

This movie was very well directed and has a cast of actors that did a pretty good job of depicting their characters. It should be viewed by all generations, but especially the younger generations who weren't around when these actual events occurred.

I love this movie, it's a great reminder why we all as a community and as a notion need to vote. Don't forget about the past and what things we overcame to get here where we are today.

Without a doubt a film that must be seen by all races and generations. It does an excellent job of reminding us why we must exercise our rights as citizens and VOTE. Too many people lost their lives and too many have forgotten why we must.

The movie was both great and enlightening. It definitely showed a more realistic view of MLK,Jr. as a real man with fears,apprehension and a sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and would recommend anyone,and everyone,to see it.

Ava DuVernay's pic about MLK Jr., and the adverse struggle of the civil rights movement is a must see. Powerful but intimate storytelling of the brave souls who fought for freedom.

Having grown up in the 60's I knew a little about Martin Luther King but did not know in depth what is portrayed in the movie Selma. No human being should have to endure the sufferings portrayed. Very educational - a must see!
