worth every penny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.excellent headphones! superb quality, comfortable for 16-hr flights, and easy to re-charge (which is only every few days). they do pinch a little with glasses, but i suspect all the over-the-ear ones do.

Exactly as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.not an audiophile but I do enjoy listening to music and I would describe my hearing as more accurate than most. Great for streaming spotify on the go, flac files from the laptop, and are a treat to listen with on my turntable. comfortable, not too big. a little quiet for me, but ive blown out my hearing over the last 6 years at metal concerts.

Outstanding sound AND look good!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The old “you get what you pay for” applies to these. They are a quality build and sound great. Yes, Sony and Bose have better sound cancellation but for a similar price you get a longer lasting product with richer sound. Worth every penny.

Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.True audiophile. Sounds great Bluetooth or plugged in with cord. I use them with my TV, phone, tablet, Bluetooth adapter pairs well for nonbluetooth TV. Phone calls clear. Power can be off for corded use. Only negative is no ANC level control.

Sounds Amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds amazing! Very comfortable also. Compared to the other spendy brands on display at magonolia home theater and these sounded the best and were the lightest.

Exceeded my high expectations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After several disappointing headphone purchases I jumped on these when I saw them go on sale for 50% off. It was several days before I was able to use them on a flight and I couldn't believe the experience. As soon as the plane landed I tried to purchase another set for my wife but the price had already doubled. You can't go wrong with these headphones so if you happen to see them marked down buy them. Even at $400 they are worth it. The noise canceling and amazing sound quality make these headphones a must for anyone that does a lot of flying. The experience blew me away!

If you love music, these are for you.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love music and I want to hear every instrument when I'm listening. These headphones bring out the best when your listening to jazz, classical or anything close to real music. If you want the Beats experience, these are not going to satisfy you. These Sennheisers have a very balanced sound. I did my research on alot of headphones and settled on these and couldn't be happier. They may not block all the noise like Bose or Sony headphones but my wife gets mad because I can't hear her calling me to do some chore or another. If your an audiophile, you'll appreciate these.

Wow
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent sound. Have a pair of electrostatic speakers as my main speaker. These phones equal the sound of those speakers. Bought them for mowing...using them for snow blowing now, cuts most of the sound away. I can hear just enough of the snowblower to tell if something is wrong. Plenty of volume. If to soft, check volume on phone and headhones. Bass may be a little light, but if the recording has bass, you will hear it. Not overblown like some other brands. I would definitely recommend them.

Phenomenal Sound and Clarity
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having read reviews of Sennheiser audio products before, I was well aware of Sennheiser's reputation for outstanding audio and music reproduction. These HD1s, for me, lived up to this reputation. The HD1's sound is perfectly balanced. Bass is accurately reproduced and strong but not overpowering. As a result the HD1's have amazing clarity while faithfully reproducing mids and highs beautifully. Aesthetically the HD1s are beautiful to behold. The aluminum and leather construction provide a more modern and sleek aesthetic. Additionally the earpieces fold in order to provide a more compact traveling form. Over extended periods of listening sessions the HD1s remained very comfortable to wear. Volume, power, and pairing controls are simply to use; a welcome departure from some of the complex control schemes of other headphones. One of the small features I like the most, ironically, is that a computerized voice informs you when power is turned off and on and when the headphones are pairing and paired. The HD1s are remarkably well balanced, have proper bass reproduction, and have a streamlined modern form that I love. The controls are perfect for me and the long battery life is exceptional.

Great looking and sounding Headphonea
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HD1 Wireless are some of best looking Wireless Headphones I've had. They seem to eschew the standard black plastic look of others and go for a more warmer and old school aesthetic and I appreciate it. It’s nice to have a pair of headphones that will stand out. Of course one doesn't get the headphone for looks, its performance that matter and let’s get into that. Overall on looks 5/5 for being distinctive compared to other headphones. I find the HD1 even with glasses on to be comfortable to wear, but even with the comfort, my ears still get a bit hot. Though even wearing these for long periods in the office, the heat of my ears are a bit less than other pairs I've worn. I do appreciate they stay on the head and once you get it set you don't really feel it, except for warmer than normal ears. Overall I'd give comfort a 4.5/5 Sound - Now this is the hard part. The Active Noise Cancelling works and works well. Seems to be on par with my QC35II headphones. However, unlike other headphones, this doesn't have an App to adjust "how" much ANC, so you have to depend on headphones adjusting to wind and other things. That said, while its nice not having an App to manage these (I have too many of those on my phones), I worry how will the firmware get updated. However this is far from the sound. The ANC works well, but seems to really shine when you have sound coming from the headphone. The sound is fairly rich and warm. I enjoy it and when I tested playing some games on my PC, I was able to pick up some sounds I've missed with other headphones. I like the sound. Are these the best sounding. Can't say. They seem warmer and I like the sound of music and voice. Seems clear and all encompassing. I enjoy it and they don't sound bad. 5/5. However, I'd recommend going to the store and trying them to best determine if the default sound profile is ideal for you. For me it is, but without an App to adjust the profile you either will like it or depend on 3rd party apps to get the profile you want. Misc. As I stated earlier there is no app that say you should install. Every pair from Sony and Bose depend on the app. To control the sound, ANC profile and to update firmware. While it is nice not to have another app, I do worry how the firmware will be updated if either a problem or improvement. That is a ding compared to others. Maybe they have an app or a way to update firmware but the directions didn't cover it, either in the packaging or from the website. This most likely isn't a concern, but I thought I'd mention it. I did also like the case the headphones came in. It’s a soft/hard case seems sturdy enough to be placed in my bag, but then they give an additional bag to put the headphones in to keep them getting tangled with the cables. It is nice to see these headphones come with a 3.5mm cable if you don't have a Bluetooth device. It’s a nice touch and I appreciate. Charging is the standard micro-usb. Again be nice if USB-C only because I don't have to look at the cable and figure which way to insert the cable. Last question is battery life. It is impressive. From a full charge even after 4 hours of usage I still have 90% charge. I'm sure various things will change such as distance and volume etc. But I believe it will get the full rated life, and if nothing can be used over the course of a few days unless you are going 24/7. So it should cover a long flight, or a few days in the office. I'm happy with that. Overall I find these to be a great pair of headphones. They look different and sound good for me. Battery life is good and pairs easily with devices either via Bluetooth or NFC. If you need some Bluetooth headphones I'd give these a listen I think you'd be happy with the result.

Some of the best Headphones I've owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are some of the best Headphones I've owned. The sound quality is above average, and I think the build quality is near the top. One thing to note that is the sound cancelling is not overpowering, as in it will not TOTALLY isolate the outside world. Personally, I prefer this. However, it is not "Bose level" isolation.

Nice but....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound quality and good noise canceling. But the ear cups are a little on the small side for an adult. And the top head band is very hard. Get it if you get a great deal on it otherwise too expensive at the full price.

Luxurious with Outstanding Sound Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After just a couple of hours of use, I was totally convinced that these headphones are for those who demand good sound quality without being tied to wires. Very few wireless headphones can deliver that but in my experience, the Sennheiser HD1 can. While I look for sound quality - and I have found it in a couple of other wireless headphones in the market – I can’t stand listening to music for hours unless they are very comfortable to wear. In my opinion, there are no other wireless headphones as comfortable as these are. They are extremely light and the cups are made of amazingly soft leather. Moreover, they look luxurious with no vinyl material. I was happy to find out that it supports Bluetooth AptX. That explains the much better sound quality when tethered to my iPhone or iPad. Crisp sound and good base. I have not experienced any major issues with Bluetooth and I can pair them to multiple devices at the same time. That is an awesome feature since other headphones I have tried will connect to the first device they find and that’s it until you turn off Bluetooth on that device. With these, you don’t have to worry about it unless you have all devices playing something at the same time. Here’s the bad news: the noise cancellation is not as good compared with other similar and almost as good headphones I own. More than once, I wanted to turn that feature off but I could not because there was no such option. I have not found others with better sound quality and that is the most important feature in headphones but noise cancellation in these is a bit disappointing. Again, sound quality and build material are so much better than most that it is easy to forgive this shortcoming. Battery has lasted a couple of days so far and it seems that it will provide power for another day or longer. I miss some features that other headphones have but these are my favorite wireless headphones as far as sound quality goes and as long as I’m away from some types of noisy environment where noise cancellation will not interfere negatively.

Best sounding headphones at bestbuy right now08/18

Just kinda meh.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a Sony WH1000-XM2 last February- it was between this pair of Sennheisers and the Sony. I LOVED the looks of the HD1 but ended up buying the Sony. I saw the HD1 on crazy sale at Best Buy and couldn’t help myself. Sadly, they will be returned. They don’t fold up nearly as compact as the Sony, the soft case that comes with the HD1 is less than desirable. While the HD1 does an admirable job at canceling voices, I can still hear the bus or train through them. Too bad because these are beautiful headphones.
