I'm happy with the headphones. They fit over my ears which I was looking for at the time. It lets in little ambient noise which is great when I'm watching something on the computer in the room with someone else

I have tried different headphones but not all are big enough so it will cover my whole ear and not cover my after the ear hearing aids. Also I have no feedback when using the headphones keeping my hearing aid on.

These Headphones are the same ones the pros use in professional recording studios as well as On Air Talent in Radio Broadcasting. I love them and have been using this brand for years.

My primary goal with this set of cans was closed headphones to listen to while working that sounded as awesome as possible without going too much over $100. These are incredible, and get better each week as they loosen up. I tend to prefer on-ear headphones, but these have spoiled me. I love the bass impact - tight and clear without being buzzy or vague - and the clarity and depth of the highs and mids. Nothing is over-driven or unbalanced. A friend has some $100 Sony professional headphones that are smaller, and I was hoping they'd at least sound as good so I could lose some of the bulk of these Sennheisers, but the Sony's fell apart in the upper range where these stayed clear and tight - I was shocked at the difference really. I listen to a mix of acoustic guitar new-age, electronic dance-beat and mainstream rock hits, and these are awesome with all of it. I look forward to getting to work so I can listen to 'em. Best part is I can crank them to where I can feel the phones pulsing on my head, and no one around me can hear a thing. Problems: Driving these with an iPod or MacBook Pro reveals the shortfalls of smaller devices. My next audio purchase will be a headphone amp that takes the signal from the USB port. Smaller personal electronics just can't drive these like they should be driven. The size - I have a narrow northern-european-heritage head and these fit fine, though a touch tight. If you have a wide head, they'll be uncomfortable, but very worth getting and stretching out slowly on a basketball. Earpads are comfortable and the weight is acceptable (all worth it for the sound). Functional nitpick - the cord is kinda bulky and gets in the way, but totally worth putting up with. For reference - I've listened to AKG phones (K 242 I think), and these aren't quite to that spec obviously, but the differences aren't huge. I'll admit, too, that Sennheisers always sound right to me for whatever reason, so I'm somewhat biased towards them. My other phones for running are Sennheiser PMX-100.

    Worth Every Penny! Seriously!

After trying out cheaper models I finally chose to put forth a little bit more $$ for something that will last, sounds AMAZING and will be used every day. The Sony on the ear headphones were my first choice. Don't buy from Target as you cant try them out first. Got em home and they SUCKED! Tinny and they DIDN'T cancel noise like they said even with the battery power pack. Best buy is great because I could try these out before I bought em. The sound quality was AMAZING. These are studio worthy and I can see using these for monitoring vocals if I was recording. I can see a dual use for the future after I learn how to use recording programs for my PC. Also a pleasant surprise was they canceled out noise due to the construction. No BATTERIES needed! Anyway, these do the job, have a nice long cord and are TOUGH! The cord is thick and the ends are meant to take abuse. Although the headphones are a bit LARGE, they rotate flat so I can put them in my backpack pouch. They also fold up into a ball like shape for transport in other size pouches. As a musician, I can truthfully say that from the music aficionado to the price conscious music student all will be very happy with this purchase. You will hear the mid-range and the highs (for Classical, Pop, Jazz or or Rock) and the BASS BOOMS (Hip Hop or Rap) It ALL sounds great through these headphones. Worth every penny.

Sounds good to me, can not image much of a difference for more money. Not noise canceling. I can hear conversations if music not playing, what I expected.

Overall the is a great headphone. I don't see getting the return in the investment on spending $300 on headphones. These are under $100 and are great quality .

    Not So Great Headphones

The construction is very durable. I like that the headband foam, earpiece foam, and cable is user replaceable with easy to find parts online. I also like how they are sound isolating and not noise canceling. Sound isolating uses bigger earpieces to create a tighter seal to block out sound while noise canceling uses audio frequencies to cancel out surrounding sounds. Noise canceling technology tends to color the sound of the music, making it sound slightly unnatural. I was going to use these headphones for drumming while listening to music. The advertised sound isolation says 32db. I doubt they block out that much sound. Its probably more around 15db when sealed properly around your ears. I don't like the sound quality, comfort, and coiled cable. These headphones tend to favor higher frequencies. There is definitely a lack of bass response. I don't like headphones that produce a lot of bass, but the bass with these are almost non-existent. The dynamic range is terrible. Music often has a lot of dynamic contrast and these headphones won't take you along for the ride musically. I felt like I had to turn up the volume a lot (past comfortable) to get any dynamic response out of them. As for comfort, they are too heavy for my liking and the earpieces make my ears sweat. I really dislike the coiled cable as it tends pull on the headphones as you lean slightly away from the source you're plugged into; in my case I was plugging them into an electronic drum set. All in all a below average pair of headphones in my opinion. I ended up bringing them back. No issues with returns at Best Buy!

Pro Grade Performance & Quality, Great Price

I'm a long-time tech-geek and audiophile, but recently have decided to re-learn the guitar. I may love great sound, but I'm "frugal with money." But, after wasting hundreds on poor performing sets and reviewing what is out there, I chose the HD280PROS - and extremely happy with my choice. Any Hphones can be loud (and they are), but they are also pleasantly isolating and extremely comfortable. If you-re looking for pro grade headphones - these work fantastic for me.
