Loses Connection with Charging Contacts in Case
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This issue has been happening consistently since the first time i got them out of the case. I have tried cleaning the contacts, seating the buds without tips, and pressing the buds into the contacts but nothibg has resolved this issue. Sometimes it charges, sometimes it doesn't. Several times, the buds have stopped charging whilst in the case and connected to my phone in the middle of audio playback. Poor quality control. DO NOT PURCHASE.

When they work
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For starters they fit great and sound good but the buggy software and inconsistent operations have me saying save your money and your frustration. Bestbuy doesn't offer a extended warranty and sennheiser support is purposely difficult to contact. They latest and most frustrating behavior is the ear pieces going dead in the charger so that when your ready to use them, you can't. This is a serious flaw that needs to be addressed, and it has happened several times since the last firmware update. I would love to chat about this with sennheiser but they can't be contacted and my best buy return window is closed so that means I have a $250 paper weight. I will continue to try to contact them but their website is as buggy as the momentum 3's firmware.

Terrible Terrible headphones
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst head phones I have ever purchased. Ive had to send them back to Sennheiser 3 times to get them fixed for various issues. Ive had then for 6 months and 4 of those were spent without them in transit. Even better than paying $250 for head phones that never work is paying the return shipping every single time. If you want headphones that never work but sound great in the rare instances they do, buy these.

Excellent sounding and fitting earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been a few years since I've tried some new earbuds and I have to say, big improvements! I like these a lot and will probably be using them as my daily driver even though I'm at home 95% of my life so I don't need anything really portable. Setup was easy for the most part but could definitely be improved, I think. I read the quick start guide and held both earbuds to pair and then selected it in my iPhone's bluetooth settings. This prompted me to download the app which I did. But then when I went to connect to the earbuds from the app, it didn't work at all until I disconnected them from the phone's bluetooth settings. Very strange. After that little hiccup, I also had the firmware update fail, probably because the earbuds were at 50% battery when I started it and it takes 20 minutes to update. I was pretty impressed that after a handful of minutes in their case, they were topped up to a 90% charge and after restarting the app, I was able to continue the firmware update without any issues. Overall, the setup process is.. fine. It's not like ear pods or anything but these aren't designed for Apple devices so I wouldn't expect that anyways. The app is a pretty nice companion and gave me a good idea of the capabilities of these headphones. The equalizer felt a little clunky until I realized you don't actually drag the sliders and you can just tap where you want the value to be. There's also EQ toggles for a bass boost as well as a podcast mode that seemed to work well. I was impressed by the bass boost coming out of such a small device. You can also see and customize the shortcut taps. I found the defaults to be pretty intuitive but it was nice to have a reference. Dynamic noise cancellation had a couple options that didn't sound like they made a huge difference but t hey might be more noticeable in really noisy areas or areas with very specific noise. The transparency mode worked pretty well. I was disappointed the volume only controlled the transparency volume and not the volume of what's playing. You only have options for muting the music when transparency is turned on or continuing music when transparency is turned on. It would be great if I could have the music/whatever I'm listening to adjust it's volume lower when transparency is on. Not a huge thing but something I noticed right away. Sound quality on these things are really good. I'm no huge audiophile or anything but I've tried and tested a good amount of headphones in a casual manner over the last handful of years. These sound fantastic by themselves and considering the size of them and that they're earbuds, I was really impressed. The bass alone sounds very impressive for this size of device and that's without adding anything to the EQ or turning on bass boost. Both music (Apple lossless) and podcasts sounded great. I wish I could go into more detail on exactly what parts of the sound made them sound so good but all I can say is that I was impressed very quickly by the sound I was getting. Noise cancellation was equally impressive on these tiny things. So impressive that my 2 year old daughter started crying in the bedroom right next door to ours while I was testing these out with my bedroom AppleTV and I had no idea until my wife got out of bed to check on her and I switched transparency mode on. The seal in my ears was really good. One thing I noticed about these headphones that I haven't seen in a lot of other earbuds is a rubber ring around the outside where you put the earbuds in. This acts as an extra gasket closer to the outside of your ears and seemed to work really well. You do get that "in the womb" sound in your head if you're doing things with your mouth like chewing but I didn't find it too distracting or anything. Fit was good. I didn't feel like these were too tight or too loose. Felt pretty "just right" to me. Your mileage will vary but there are 3 extra tips (plus the ones on the earbuds by default) as well as 2 extra gaskets for around the outside of the earbuds. So you have a lot of options and combinations to try to see if something fits pretty well for you. Battery life seemed pretty good as well. And charging felt really quick. I didn't actually time it but just 10 minutes or so in the case seemed to almost completely top them off for me. I'm not 100% sure how many charges the case has because it's so easy to keep them plugged in or sitting on a wireless charge pad and just toss the buds in there when they need to be topped off or when I'm done using them. If you're planning on using these all day, you'll need to take a break for 10 minutes or so to charge the buds up but I would assume you'd have plenty of charge in the case for at least a couple full charges. The only disappointing things for me kind of goes back to the sort of disappointing setup process. I was hoping switching between devices would be easy to do because the app has a section for "connected devices" which I was expecting to use to switch between my iPhone and AppleTV. After watching TV for a while, the app no longer wanted to connect to the earbuds so I was unable to switch back to my phone. I ended up unpairing and repairing them which is kind of a pain to do every time you want to use a different device. I'm hoping this is something that straightens itself out because I can see the functionality should be there. If all I need to do is load up the app, and select a new device to switch to (like I'm fairly certain is the intended function), I'll be quite happy with that experience as well. All in all, these are great headphones. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. They sound great. The app works pretty good in a sea of products with terrible apps and they fit comfortably without really feeling like they're in at all aside from the "in the womb" feel in your ears from the noise cancellation. If you have the budget to splurge on a good pair of earbuds, these might be the ones for you.

When they work!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds good when they work... but connection issues they connect to a device they show connected but no sound... this isn't and android or iOS issues because it's doing this on all types of devices. Sadly it didn't start until I was outside the return window now I have to deal with a warranty claim. Honestly I don't want them anymore I'm going to push for an refund if I can and get something else.

Great sound - horrible quality control
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am writing this review while filing for my fourth warranty claim in one year since I purchased these headphones. Absolutely not worth the hassle. Go with a different brand at a similar quality and price point. These things last less than 3 months before they start giving an annoying chirp and the sound gets quiet and hollow. To Sennheiser's credit, they have replaced them with headphones that look new to me every time in about 2 weeks of me sending them in. But you have to pay for postage to their facility (they cover shipping back to you), so these have already cost me over 50 dollars more than what I initially paid. I won't purchase Sennheiser products again if I am looking for a product that works more that a few weeks.

Huge disappointment, problems starting at 3 weeks
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very dissappointed. Had problems about 1 week past the 15 day return period. Started with left earbud volume sounding like it couldn't push out against the pressure in my ear if that makes sense. Not a clogging problem, I've kept them very clean as well as my ears. Eventually after about 3 months the left earbud has gotten worse and now barely works at all. I have to flick it to get it to work and it just goes out shortly after or the slightest movements. Different from the first issue, but much worse. Readjusting the earbud fixed the first issues, but it was annoying and shouldnt function that way. I have Sennheiser HD 660s overear headphones and have loved them every day since I got them ~1.5-2 years ago. So I bought these to replace Samsung buds I orignally purchased, but was craving the extra sound quality that Sennheiser is known for. Unfortunately these have been a huge disappointment and failure. Sennheiser also took 3 weeks to respond to my email and said that they are way behind and it would take a long time to get them repaired. Haven't sent them in and basically have just wrote off the $200 I paid for them.

Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3 Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love me some Bluetooth earbuds, but everything I have so far was quite a bit below the price point for these Sennheisers. This go round I thought to go up several notches on the price and see if there was a noticeable difference. For the sound, charging, and customization available on the app, yes these definitely were a step or two up. Other areas actually kind of disappointed, but those areas depend on how and where you want to use your earbuds. If you are looking at Sennheiser, you are probably looking for the best SOUND you can get in the price range. Their reputation is established, and they seem to be very focused on making sure that sound quality is second to none. For this, the Momentum 3 meet the expectations, as the sound is excellent, and the phone app provides many ways to customize the sound and operation of the earbuds. FIT is excellent, as there are both several sizes of earbuds AND optional ear “fins” for an extra snug and secure fit if you need it. More choices mean a little more time to get the fit sorted out, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Once you get your fit dialed in to your personal liking, you should be able to wear these for extended periods and stay comfortable. The size of these buds is larger than most of the others I have used, and using them for extremely active workouts, or on the other end of the day putting your head on the pillow with these – probably not the best way to use them. CALLING works fine for me. I can hear the caller with no issues, and the callers report that the sound is clear with no ambient noise. BATTERY provides several hours as advertised, and the case has plenty of capacity for a recharge or two. Wireless charging is nice, and if you already have a wireless pad for other devices the Momentum should work fine with what you have. Bluetooth CONNECTION is solid and the phone app manages ALL connections, not just the connection with the phone. Comparing to other wireless earbuds I use regularly, here are a few of the things missing that I am used to on other sets. CASE is larger than others I have and is a bit much for putting in a pants or shirt pocket. If you are looking for something to carry around in your pocket – you probably want to move on. SWITCHING from one device to another (example from phone to desktop/laptop) requires use of the app, as you have to open the phone app, and use it to disconnect from one device and connect to the other device. The app does show ALL the devices that the buds are paired with – which is the first time I have seen this in earbud apps, and you use the app to cut connection to the current device and switch connection the new device and the app takes if from there. Sennheiser has been rumored to indicate that multi-point connection will be added with a firmware update but been there done that on promised updates that are about “missing” features. BATTERY LEVEL NOTIFICATION for some reason you don’t get an announcement about the battery level when you put in these buds. If your buds need recharging, you will get a “recharge” notice, but no audible notice of high/med…. You can open the app on your phone and see what the battery level is, or check the connection status on your computer, but no verbal notification. This seems to be some oversight and I hope this will be corrected with a firmware update. ANC is getting mixed reviews on these buds. Sennheiser has the “adaptive noise canceling” which adapts to ambient noise levels and gets “stronger” or “weaker” depending on surrounding noises. It really does work, and there is also a “pass-through” function that works well and is adjustable using the app. However, I have compared the ANC in same environment with these Sennheisers, a lower price point pair of buds, and a medium price point headset. The Sennheiser ANC is the least effective of these three. This is my personal experience and also my personal preference is that ANC should work at maximum effect all the time. I reckon that uses a wee bit more battery, but I’ll take that as acceptable trade-off for maximum ANC effectiveness. Overall, no major complaints although honestly speaking other than the sound quality (which is excellent) I was expecting more from the “little things” like notifications, ANC, and multi-point that could come with this higher price point. Best use for these seems to be the “wear during the day” applications as long as you have somewhere to put the case. Using for vigorous athletic activities or wearing them to bed… not so much. Greetings from Central Georgia!

Worth the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds are great! The battery life is pretty good and the sound quality is pretty f*n good too. Only thing I don’t. Like is that if I wear them too long they rub the inside of my ear too much but that’s nothing a different eartip wouldn’t fix.
