3rd time is a charm - great listening
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 3rd version of Sennheiser's Momentum True Wireless earbuds. The retain the enhanced active noise cancellation (ANC) of the Momentum 2 (already a premium earbud) and made minor but important improvements including wireless charging, AptX Adaptive support and better noise cancellation. The dynamic 7mm TrueResponse drivers provide a good kick for the bass. While the IPX4 rating protects the earbuds through most tolerable listing conditions while the battery life (up to 7 hours for the buds alone and 28 hours total counting the case) the buds feature a rectangularish design with a matte finish. They’re also customisable in fit. They provide a set of stabilizer fins in three different sizes and a set of four different-sized ear tips are also included. Even in high intensity workouts I did not need to use the included stabilizers. You can change the volume without using your phone. Accessible via one tap, two or three, and long presses you’ve also got auto-pause in-ear detection, You can use one or two earbuds. They include an equalizer and two cool features called Sound Zones and Sound Check.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 3rd pair of sennheiser headphones in general and I am pleased with these. My expectations were very high with these but knowing that truly wireless earbuds simply can't compare to high end over the ear headphones I am still happy with my purchase. Battery is solid, clarity is there, and they are very very bass heavy. Maybe too bassy for me. If you are looking for clean audio and very bassy headphones these are the ones. I've had the boss qc and the sony wf 1000m4 and I will say the sony probably are better depending on what you are looking for. These are way better than the bose. Sony have more features and slightly more details and cleaner bass. Overall pretty solid product looking to see if update will balance the frequency of the bass response for my liking other then that I recommend.

Sheer disappointment..!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My new Momentum 3 failed to pair with the devices. All recommended troubleshooting failed and it didn't work. And I did not get the much needed help to have this replaced or refunded from Best Buy team/leaders. I am disappointed to the core.

LITERALLY HOW!?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long story short: these are the best in ears I have ever used hands down. The details: the high end is crisp and snappy. The mid range is clear and defined. The bass is punchy and warm. The sound in general carries a lot more detail across all frequencies than is normal for in ears. Every song in every genre and every language that I listen to sounds better on these. They were also very easy to pair and set up, and they are light and comfortable in the ears. The case is very premium feeling and has a satisfying magnetic SNAP with every close. The case is also smaller than you would expect given its battery capacity. And for the price I got them for? Actually HOW did this happen?? I'm hearing parts of even my own songs that I'VE MADE that I haven't been able to hear previously. 100/10, I won't buy in ears from any other brand ever again. Full stop.

True Luxury Buds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sennheiser is a name that is synonymous with high-end, high-quality audio devices. Say their name in a group of audiophile friends, and you will get their full attention. Do the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds deliver the high-end sound and luxurious design consumers have been accustomed to? I must admit, I've always been "that guy" that poked fun at those using the wireless cell phone devices of ol'. I mean how could you not? They walk around in public seemingly talking to themselves. I told myself "I'll never be one of THOSE people". Uh oh... I'm now one of those people. Thanks, Sennheiser! The Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds come with everything you need to get started. They have generously included 4 pairs of various sized cups (1 installed, 3 pairs included) and "Fins" that help keep them in place. Also included in a USB-C --> USB-C charging cable. The canvas-wrapped charging case screams "look at me, I'm awesome" in a very polite manner. The buds themselves reminded me of casino dice. Slightly smaller in dimension, but that's the shape. They stand out from the other "True Wireless" buds out there. However, this design decision in no way seems to cause any fitment issues or wear fatigue. The star of the show of course is the famous Sennheiser sound. And the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds do not disappoint in that department. I did note a slight lacking in the high end of the sound frequency spectrum. This however was using them "non-tweaked". More about that later. Pairing was a breeze. The instructions stated to do a quick charge before pairing. In no time I was connected to my S21+. The microphone quality, in my opinion, is in a league of its own. My wife got a random phone call at work (she LOVES those) where her first remark was "You must have a great connection because your voice sounds crystal clear". That statement in itself gives credence to the quality of the mics in the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless buds. As usually, when on calls, my phone-bearing hand wanders to where the phone-mic is moving all around wreaking havoc on the end listeners' experience. The Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless microphone does seem to pick up a little bit of background noise. So, keep that in mind if you multi-task when talking. Again, audio quality is the star of the show with any Sennheiser product. Paired with my S21+, listening to Spotify and Amazon Music was a completely new experience. And this was using the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds prior to installing the app or any tweaks (more later on that). Listening to Roger Waters' "Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking" there are elements in the audio mix that I never noticed prior to listening with the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds. Mids are the standout as they are robust. The bass is punchy. Highs are muted slightly. Clapton’s guitar sounds like it is in the room with you (I know I know, the "in the room with you" description is overused but it is the perfect descriptor here). And holy cow! Listening to music with the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds’ active noise-canceling technology is a whole other experience! I never knew how much the air-conditioner interfered with music. But when the wife comes home, one tap on the left earbud turns on "Environmental mode" which effectively turns off the noise canceling. Since I had paired the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds prior to installing the app, this seemed to cause an issue with the app connecting to them. It took a little "Tech Magic" to fix this. So, my suggestion would be to install the app and have it ready prior to pairing. The app gives you a standard 3 band equalizer. This provided the ability to create PERFECT sound by bumping up the high range of the spectrum by 3dB. As noted above, using the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds without the app, the highs seemed to be somewhat muted... Well, the app fixed that completely! Also in the app is a neat function called "Soundcheck" that offers you custom EQ presets. I thought this was a nifty addition. Now we enter into "game-changing territory". But would we expect anything different from Sennheiser? Sound Zones allow you to create... well... zones that are tracked by GPS. The magic here is that say, for instance, you wanted specific settings at work (heh heh), the gym, or at home - Sound Zones give you that opportunity. You get to customize twenty such zones. So, what does that mean? It means a true "Set it and forget it" functionality. As soon as you arrive at your pre-set zone - BAM - the settings are changed. This single-function alone blows my mind. Now you must be asking about battery performance? A full charge will give you a solid 5 hours at any volume. Impressive when you consider that the case provides an additional three further charges when you have that topped up. Throw the buds into the case for about 10-15 minutes when they are drained, and you will get about 70 minutes of charge! Awesome-Sauce! In conclusion, while the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds may totally be out of reach to some due to their hefty price, I truly feel they are worth it and more. To find a pair of TRUE wireless earbuds with TRUE premium sound, with all the accessories you could need included, along with an app that isn't --- well, cr@p, and be truly comfortable all the while never falling out - you have a winner with the Sennheiser Momentum 3 True Wireless earbuds. Sennheiser did it again. If you can get them - GET THEM!

Best Sounding In-Ear Out There Right Now
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Listening to the Momentum’s as I write this review. I have two Sennheiser products that I currently use, an over ear headphone and a home theater soundbar that sounds fantastic with music too. Both have been wonderful components that have given me years of listening pleasure. The Momentum True Wireless 3’s follow in the footsteps of other traditional Sennheiser products: Easy to use, lots of options, and most importantly, balanced, detailed sound. The True Wireless 3’s have adaptive noise cancellation, wireless charging, are splash resistant, AAC and AptX compatible, and also use the Sennheiser Smart Control App to further tune and customize their sound. In all genres of music I tried them with, the sound was detailed without being harsh, the bass was impactful without being boomy, and the volume was sufficient for my old ears. I’ve had a lot of in ears from a large variety of brands, and the True Wireless 3’s rank as my number 1’s at this time. A fantastic in-ear headphone. Now, let’s get to the not so good. After pairing the True Wireless 3’s with my iPhone 13 Pro Max and listening to a large variety of albums in preparation for this review, I followed a pop-up instruction on the iPhone that suggested I install the Smart Control app. I did, and after a series of slightly confusing messages about connecting and holding this and that for three seconds, the app asked if I wanted to do a firmware update for the 3’s. I said yes, and that’s where things kind of took a dive. About 80% through the update, error messages popped up saying the True Wireless 3’s were disconnected and to restart the update process. Problem was, the iPhone would no longer connect to the True Wireless 3’s. I reset the iPhone, forgot the 3’s in the Bluetooth menu, turned Bluetooth off and back on, nothing. No information in the box on how to reset the connection, and a Google search only turned up information for how to reset the True Wireless 2’s. Hold both buds between your thumb and middle finger, rest your pointer finger on the control panel of each bud for three seconds. You’ll see the LED lights flash red and blue, which means you have reset the Bluetooth connection. I did this and went back through the pairing process with my phone, but now I have no sound. The phone shows the Momentum’s as being played to, but no music is coming out of them. Back to the internet for more information, but the factory reset process shown for the Wireless 2’s did not work for the 3’s. What the heck do I do? Fortunately, I was able to re-sync the buds with the Smart Control app, and under settings there is a Factory Reset option. I did that, put them back in the case, waited ten seconds, got them back out, re-synced them to the phone, and voila! I had sound once again. Process to go through all this? Almost an hour. That’s the only blemish in an otherwise amazing review period, but enough to drop the rating by one star. Come on, Sennheiser, just put a reset button on the case like most your competitors! Anyhow, here is how I rate these: Sound Quality: 5 out of 5 Volume: 5 out of 5 Fit and Comfort: 5 out of 5 Ease of Use: 2 out of 5

Hope this helps…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried these 4 noise canceling earphones and these are my thoughts: 1: Sony wh-1000xm4: Pro: These have the best sound quality. Warmer sound and punchy bass that no other earbud comes close too. Sound cancellation is 2nd best next to Bose QC. App is easy to use and offers some customization. Sound awareness is the best, 2nd place is Bose. Con: They’re very bulky and may hurt some people’s ear. Not the most comfortable. 2: Bose QC earbuds II Pro: Best noise cancellation, and great sound with good bass. Has the most comfortable fit of the other earbuds, and easiest to use features when wearing the buds. App allows for some customization. Cons: You can only single use the right earbud. Very annoying, that you cant switch between each earbud. It is expected to be fixed with new firmware update but not sure when. 3: Sennheiser momentum 3: Pro: Very balanced and crisp sound. These are by far the best if you like to hear music in its most natural raw state. Best build quality on buds and case. App also allows the best customization. Con: Not the best sound cancellation. Small build can go deep into the ear and be a little uncomfortable. 4: Sony Linkbud S Pro: Similar to Sony XM4’s just way smaller. Offer almost the same features as them. Great sound quality for price and size of them. Con: Worst in sound cancellation and sound quality, but also have the lowest price point.

Best buds for me (gone through a lot)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took me a while but found the best ear buds. I have gone through Bose, Beats, Master + Dynamic, Sony... for someone who is active (1 plus hour at the gym 5 days a week) and always on the go (commuting, traveling, etc) these buds are amazing. The sounds is top tier, the battery life is decent, and the custom controls/eq/app is dope. They also went through an entire cycle in the washing machine and still work great. The best part is the fit. THEY STAY IN PLACE. Caveat being I got the Comply foam tips. The passive noise canceling is great with them and it makes the active noise canceling better... but the point is that they stay in place. During workouts, flights, running... they never fall out. I love these things. Thank you Sennheiser (and Comply).

Pleasantly Surprised
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went into trying these with an automatic bias. Other earbuds I have tried with similar shape were uncomfortable in my ears in the past and felt bulky so I thought that would be the first thing that I would dislike about these. To my surprise these were far more comfortable than I could imagine. Still slightly bulkier than the earbuds I typically use but not to the point that it irritated me. These sat comfortably in my ears for hours without an issue. The tips and fins fit perfectly but I do like that there are sizes ranging from XS to Large to customize the fit for virtually any user. Soundwise, while I'm not an audiophile I do know what sounds good to me and these exceeded my expectations. The highs and lows were crisp and clear. I listen to a wide range of music genres and was more than satisfied by how the bass sounded as well as how clear the vocals and other nuiances throughout the arrangements were handled. The active noise canceling is pretty good and while the transparency mode is adequate it is not as good as it is on the other earbuds I use regularly. Even though that sounds like a complaint it's not. Honestly it's something I never would have noticed if I had not been using a brand that I truly enjoy the transparency mode feature on. Voice calls were clear and worked as expected. At this point I would be more than disappointed by any earbuds that couldn't handle what should be a pretty simple task so this shouldn't be a shock. These are pretty comparable to the AirPods Pro as far as noise reduction on the calls from my experience. Not completely the same but not too far off. I should mention that while I did try the anti-wind mode it wasn't something I noticed much benefit from because it has been the least windy possible in my area lately (I wanted to test in real wind versus manufacturing a scenario in from of a fan). Hopefully someone else that was able to test this out in a real world scenario will chime in about the feature and if it works well. Battery life wise...things have been going well. I've been using them heavily for 3 days (several hours a day) and have not had to recharge the case yet. It charges well with my Qi wireless charger (which I tend to use most often) but when in a pinch I like the convenience of being able to charge using a cable and when necessary a brick when on the go. Overall, these are a great option if you want something different than the Sony options out there or AirPods Pro. Hoping that future firmware updates will unlock more features in the future but for now they are still worth checking out.

SENNHEISER SHOULD NOT BE SOLD AT BEST BUY!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely non existent "customer service" with Sennheiser. Had I known that I NEVER would have purchased anything at all by them. 17 emails and much more over, 2 months and have not heard ONE word. Regarding quality of earbuds- the sound is phenominal. Case charges the earbuds- w/zero fingerprints. No issues with earbuds falling out. Deep bass, crisp highs.. HOWEVER, bluetooth connectibity is beyond horrible! I mean HORRIBLE. Released way tooooooo prematurely! As soon as you pause/stop music, the earbuds will NOT reconnect unless you UNPAIR, FORGET THE DEVICE AND RESTART YOUR PHONE. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Did you read that? EVERY SINGLE TIME. I was hoping my 1st pair were duds. They were NOT. Returned those. Ended up getting a new pair of the momemtum 3. What a waste. Sennheiser advised that the Momemtum 4 resolves the bluetooth issue that Momemtum 3 has- and thats all they could tell me before disconnecting me. So just bite the $300+ and purchase the new version? Because youre such an "honest" company? Riiiight. What about everyone who purchased the Momentum 3s which btw you and everyone else are STILL selling!! We are all just out $300 + and are supposed to trust Sennheiser who wont even return a customers inquiry- EVER -apparently?? Horrible. Best Buy- listen I am a huge BB fan, but BB should NOT sell things by manufacturers who have NO customer service! SENNHEISER SHOULD NOT BE SOLD AT BEST BUY! ANY maker that has zero interest in customers or who do NOT even BACK THEIR OWN PRODUCT, should NOT be sold by Best Buy!

Perfect buds for me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely beautiful sound and amazing ANC. These are the earbuds I was wanting after getting some cheap wireless earbuds that had connection issues and would not stay in my ears. These don't have those problems and sound amazing. I mostly use them at the gym and I'm amazed at how much sound they block out and I can focus on the music when working out.
