||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely the worst. Do not buy. Ours stopped working shortly after a year. They sent a replacement which they said was new. It was refurbished and the one side rattles. Absolute waste of money. Do not buy.

Malfunctioning
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a good pair of headphones for 2 months, now it keeps trying to pair to other devices when it is already paired. I turn it off and it turns back on by itself and goes back trying to pair. I regret this purchase!

The new leader in high end headphones...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love these headphones. They are the most comfortable available on the market in my opinion. They sound great and feel is second to none. The range is great for anything any home user would use or want. They are exceptionally great for Android or iOS devices. They don't tell you but you should install there first to configure them to your preferences. They you can use bluetooth to connect them to your Windows devices but I did not find any software support available for the Windows platform, but they did work just fine with the default settings. I will say you will be happier to connect them to your phone and customize how you want to have them to sound for your listening preferences. I have spend hundreds on competitors headphones to have similar features but none are quite up to this level. The ear cups are very comfortable and the materials don't feel like cheap plastic. Once fully charged and with an occasional recharge, these will be ready to go for your listening sessions or a day of work. You can enjoy all types and genres of music, charge them during a restroom break, or when you step away for lunch, then they are ready to go again. The included carrying case means they will last for a very long time and easy to protect during your travels. You can not go wrong with these full feature headphones and if you can ever find them on sale they are easily a can't miss. Highly recommended and should last for many years.

Best version of the Momentum's yet.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used plenty of Sennheiser headphones before but never in the Momentum line before. I have used their CX true wireless earbuds and other various headphones over the years. I never quite liked the look of the older Momentum headphones but I know there is people that do though. These headphones have that modern look like other Active noise cancelling headphones have from other major brands. They have a mix of plastic and metal build which makes it quite light and from the looks better then the older generation of these headphones. Inside the box you get the headphones inside a case which has the USB type A to USB type C cable to charge the device, a 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack cable to use the headphones wired with the 2.5mm going to the headphones. Also comes with an airplane adapter which is good for the few times you might need it. The headphones are able to connect to the Sennheiser connect app which lets you change the EQ, the level of ANC you want to use or transparency mode as well. The headphones also have a sensor which detects if its on you and can pause the music if you take it off. I find it to be too sensitive and I have turned it off since I found it will turn on your headphones inside the case. YMMV. The advertised battery life is 60 hours with ANC on and from what I've seen so far, I am inclined to believe that claim . All in all if you want top tier ANC with the best sound quality These are great. Not the best ANC but close to it.

The future of headphones is here!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So good. I think Sennheiser was always too focused on sound quality for music and left comfort and noise canceling be afterthoughts, which let Bose and Sony own much of the market … BUT NOW they have all three dialed in pushing them past the competition. You won’t find a better headset out of the box ready for any situation. The hard shell case is perfectly designed and calls are crystal. The companion app is there for us audiophiles, but factory settings were on point. The battery life is insane. Lasts days and I use these at work constantly. Best luxury all-purpose headphones on the market today. Way to go Sennheiser!!!!

Mostly what you would expect from Sennheiser
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really want to be enamored with these headphones. Historically I have loved Sennheiser headphones. They have the track record for quality. That's why it's so hard for me to write a review having less than 5 stars. But in this case there are just some issues I'm finding difficult to get past. I'll start with the good. For the most part the sound is excellent. I'm amazed by how much more definition I notice when listening to my music with these versus others at the same price point. Out of the box without any eq adjustment they strike a very good balance between lows, mids, and highs. Battery life is definitely as advertised. In fact, I am pleasantly surprised to have gotten even better battery life than advertised actually. The build quality is excellent as you might expect from Sennheiser. They are very comfortable even while wearing for long periods and I say this as someone who wears glasses and whose ears usually start to ache after a while as a result. If comfort is an extra big deal for you, then these are a strong contender. Unfortunately, there are some not so great things about these that have me scratching my head. For instance, I am very surprised to notice that there is distortion when listening to some of my music. I've never had that happen quite like this with a pair of Sennheisers. It is especially prominent when I listened to Bad Wolves cover of Zombie by The Cranberries. At about 60%-70% volume the intro sounds horrible. I was hoping to alleviate this by adjusting the eq, but that lead me to my next two issues. First, the companion app for iPhone is not very good. I have a 12 Pro Max. I have had the app just up and quit on me several times. Other times it just freezes while trying to connect with the headphones and I have to force quit it. But even when it I am able to get past that point, the app still has functionality issues. The in app eq just does not work. No matter what changes I make there is no change to the sound. I don't know why that would be. ANC is also surprisingly an issue. Upon first testing it out I barely noticed a difference with it on or off. The app, at one point, did notify me that there was a firmware update and I did install it, but it didn't appear to have any affect. To sum up, these are very good headphones. There are some puzzlingly not so good things about them. Fortunately I think Sennheiser should be able to address most with updates to the app, but at the $350 price point I (and most people I know) expect headphones without such annoyances out of the box.

Incredible Sound…with a MAJOR (but fixed) problem
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.INITIAL THOUGHTS & SETUP: The packaging is about the most environmentally-friendly packaging I’ve ever seen. You have a package box sealed with two pieces of plastic-based “sealing discs” (this plastic is difficult to avoid, as almost all seals are still made using plastic)…and, upon removing the seals, all I found inside was the headphone case, with everything (headphones, accessories, QuickStart, etc) inside the case. Needless to say, when it comes to packaging, I’ve never been happier. As for setup, anyone who’s ever paired a Bluetooth device won’t have any problems. Bluetooth has, essentially, become “plug & play” at this point. At this point in time, if you can’t figure out how to pair a Bluetooth device, maybe you shouldn’t have a Bluetooth device. I say that, not to be ‘negative’, but to reenforce how incredibly-simple it is to pair Bluetooth devices. SOUND QUALITY: I’ve had a lot…and, I DO mean a LOT…of headphones in my lifetime – those that are plugged in (standard, as well as mini, jack), and Bluetooth. When Bluetooth headphones (by ‘headphones, I mean, literally, the type that have a band crossing over the trop of your head, NOT the type that have the “speakers” sitting inside your ear) first started coming out, audiophiles said they would never rival the sound quality of traditional plug-in headphones…and, at that time, I probably would have agreed, as the sound-quality was mediocre at best. That was approx 20 years ago…and, a LOT has changed in that time. Today, there are multiple ‘quality’ levels of headphones (and earbuds)…some (ie. the cheapest ones) are still mediocre, while others (yup, the expensive ones) that DO rival the sound-quality of plug-in headphones. And, yes, the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless Headphones IS one of them. Honestly, I’m not sure where, exactly, to ‘place’ them in the tier of things. Are they a top-of-the-line mid-range headset…or, are they a bottom-of-the-line high-end headset? The price point they’ve been placed in positions them “on the fence” between these two tiers. Whichever way you decide to look at it, the sound quality is absolutely amazing. For the past few years, my ‘best’ wireless headset has been from another brand also starting with the letter ‘S’ (and having 4 letters in its name)…and, I’ve always thought they sounded incredibly good. The sound quality was great (I’d have given them a 7-8 out of 10 (especially if a ‘10’ would have been what would have been expected from an equally-priced plug-in headset)), and the noise-cancellation was well-above par (I’d give the noise-cancellation an 8 out of 10). Moving over to the new Momentum 4 headphones, I’d say they EASILY deserve an 8…and, possibly, a 9…out of 10. Simply put, they sound MUCH better than that ‘S’-brand pair of headphones. Taking things one step further (ie. something you CAN’T do with that other headphone), Sennheiser has an app called “Smart Control” that not only allows users to customize the sound through equalization, and “sound modes”…but, even better, allows you to completely tailor the sound to your particular liking by asking you, multiple times, to select (between three choices) “which sounds better”. Through this process, the app ‘programs’ the headphones to your preferred “tonality”…and, it stays there, even when not using the app. ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS: So, you’d think all is 100% good with these headphones…and, unfortunately, you’d be wrong. Out of the box, the noise Cancelation didn’t work AT ALL. Between “transparent” and full “ANC”, there are 6 levels…and, even at full “ANC”, outside sounds could still easily be hears. Even after installing the first ‘Firmware Update’, the noise cancelation still didn’t work. Talk about a HUGE “disappointment”…ESPECIALLY for headphones costing as much as these do. Speaking of firmware updates, yes, the Momentum 4 headphones WILL (from time-to-time) have firmware updates…although, how frequently, I cannot say. As I type this review (approx two weeks after receiving the Momentum 4 headphones), the headphones are going through a second firmware update. As soon as the update is complete, I will test the noise cancelation again, and type the results below. In the meantime, while I wait, let me mention something about the installation process of the firmware updates. Unlike many other devices, you CAN use the Momentum 4 headphones during the install process (except, for what should be obvious reasons, when the firmware update is finalizing, as it has to ‘reboot’ the headphones)…but, in doing so, take note that this DOES slow down the update process. The update process “claims” the update will take ’21 minutes’. When I installed the first update, I was simultaneously using the headphones (while watching an episode of Marvel’s “Defender” series), and that ’21 minute’ process actually took almost 45 minutes. As for how long it takes when the headphones are not actually being used, that took (pausing typing until update is complete) POST (2nd) FIRMWARE UPDATE: first, with the headphones not being used, that ‘21minute’ update actually took about 15-16 minutes…or, essentially, half the amount of time it took when the headphones were being used. Second, I can confirm that, with the second firmware update installed, the noise cancelation IS working…and, it’s fantastic. I have the washing machine going, and, with it on full “ANC”, hearing the washing machine is almost impossible…exactly the way it should be. Even in “tapping” a cardboard box only a foot away, I can barely hear it. I don’t know if the noise cancelation was finally “activated” through this most recent update, or if there was some sort of ‘glitch’ in my headphones, which was ‘corrected’ by the latest update…but, whatever the case might be, I don’t care. As long as it’s now working, that’s all I care about. CONCLUSION: I’ll admit, I was initially going to only give the Momentum 4 headphones a 4-star rating. While the sound was incredible, and the battery life was excellent, the fact that the noise cancelation wasn’t working was not only a disappointment, but also lessened my overall opinion of the headphones. However, now that the noise cancelation works, I can ‘return’ that fifth star. I don’t think I need to state, in my review, whether, or not, I would ‘recommend’ the Momentum 4 headphones…and answer SHOULD be obvious. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

Exceptional Sound Quality and No Fatigue Fit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall rating is 5 stars. I can keep the headphones on for hours without feeling fatigue and have fallen asleep with them on while listening to music. The fit was important bc I'm petite and didn't want the added bulk and weight. The headphones are superb not only in fit but also in sound quality. I can be on my mobile phone (Apple) have them on while working around the house. Mic quality is exceptional. Sound is crisp and clear. Bluetooth connection and app can use some refinement but overall, this is the best NC headphones I've ever had. Happy with purchase and highly recommend.

Headphone Greatness
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know the name, Sennheiser from their microphones, but this is my first Sennheiser headphones that. The headphones are very well fit it. The sound from them is great! Even though they were a little expensive for my taste, I found that the money was well spent. I would recommend them to any session musician, and or a music aficionado to consider these headphones very seriously. I have never had a pair of wireless headphones with battery life this awesome. Also, being able to switch between two separate devices without having to go through. The whole link of process is a great added benefit.

Good Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pun intended. Very smooth sound and intuitive controls. It was a surprise gift for my wife and during the unboxing I tried them on and gave myself a slap on the wrist for having jumped the gun on a different brand for my own headphones a few days before. These headphones are comfortable and have full sound at medium volume without being overwhelming. Battery life hasn’t been an issue and the carrying case is beautiful. Will definitely be looking into buying myself a pair of these in the future!

Momentum continues to gain momentum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using various models of Sennheiser headphones, noise cancelling and not, over past 25 years. Their sound quality is unsurpassed. This model is no exception, neutral open sound with no excessive bass like come competing models. High quality build, comfortable, light with extra long charge hold. Quality case is a bit large as they only partially fold. Noise cancelling is adequate for me. I am a little biased as I am admittedly not a Bose headphones fan.
