4.5 stars if I could. Having previously owned the gen1 Momentums, these have come a long way and I'm overall pleased with them. Only one big gripe which I'll detail. Sound: I personally find these worthy of the Sennheiser name. They probably won't knock your socks off like some high-end IEMs but the sound is solid with sparkling highs, clear mids, and satisfying bass. Everything comes through. The in-app EQ has also come a long way in allowing you to really tailor sound to your preference. Noise Cancelling: This is decent. I think the silicone ear-tips kinda work against them in the noise cancelling performance however. I really prefer the foam tips that I previously had on my Sony xm4s which did a little better at blocking out train noise and chatter around me. Battery: No complaints here. Battery life seems as advertised. Only time will tell if the batteries in these last for more than a couple years though. (unlike my Sony xm4s) The app features an optional battery health mode which restricts the case and buds to charging up to 80-90% respectively. Charging all the way to 100% will cause the most wear on your batteries so I appreciate this feature. Fit/Comfort: These fit my ears just fine but again I find myself missing the foam eartips I previously had. Sennheiser has added an additional size of tips as well as different wing shapes that can help stabilize the bud in your ear but I never have issues with them falling out. They're comfortable enough to wear for a few hours. Case: Wireless charging is greatly appreciated and it looks pretty with the fabric. However, I'm quite frustrated with the dimensions. I can't believe they are now on gen4 and still have this case that is way too thick. It's like packing a sizeable rock around in your pocket and gets annoying as soon as you want to walk anywhere. They slightly shrunk the case length-wise but that's the only difference between this and the gen1. The charging port also shouldn't have been moved to the front. I find myself trying to open them on the wrong side now because it more closely resembles the hinged side if I'm not looking closely. Quite annoyed with the case overall which is mainly what keeps these from being a 5/5 for me. App: It's decent. No issues with connectivity so far and I like the EQ and battery life settings. I use the buds with a Pixel 7 and they pair quickly with no skipping.

These are by far the best sounding wireless ear buds that Ive experienced thus far. These give details that I had previously missed in ny past years of streaming. Granted, most of my streaming experience has been using apple products... The stage is in your head with the TW4, and the layering is close though you can still hear the separation and quality of detail. They arent the most comfortable which kind of steps on the experience as after a few hours youll want to take a break. I would have been able to survive with that, though the reason I'm returning them is due to the intermittent connectivity issues especially when using both earbuds. I usually have one in while driving or working and will experience no issues as it's usually audible/youtube/podcast while driving and music while working. Though once i get home and want the personal immersion of quality music the right earbud is the culprit to either crackle or completely cut out the streaming but remains responsive to touch input. I notice that its usually when the codec is switching between aptx adaptive and "lossless." I know that hi-res can be unstable or unreliable with bluetooth, but I wonder if these would have more stability if they were using LDAC over aptx. The sound is worth the premium, but the connectivity issues kind of negate that. Im using a Motorola Razr ultra 60 at the time of this review (just incase time reveals that the issue maybe phone BT connectivity). Overall, they bring music to life... When they work.

This is an amazing product, i really wanted a new high quality pair of earbuds and the sennheiser momentum 4 earbuds are great in a lot of ways. They have amazing ANC, a great app to adjust the sound profile. You can adjust for pop, rock, podcast or any genere of music and also make your own custom tweaks. I work for best buy and i am a huge audiophile. Sennheiser are a grear brand and are on par with the sony xm6’s and their relative earbuds. Sennheiser excels at sound quality and sound neturlization. Sony has the superior noice cancellation but if you appreciare audio auality over sound the sennheisers are the way to go. Only problem for me was stock sillicone ear buds were a lose fit but they coke wirh 3 other options.

Best sound quality headphones. Best in ear noise cancellation headphones. Trust me I’ve had tested a lot of headphone and hands down the best quality, sound, and most comfortable. Only down side to these headphones will be the design on top of the headphones and some may struggle when working out or getting sweaty. But I myself don’t have this issue with these headphones. Customization is really good in the app to meet your needs. Battery life is amazing.

AirPods Pro 3 were a big disappointment. These are finely tuned, more comfortable, and have better feautures. They also take advantage of Apt X Adaptive Bluetooth codec for higher quality audio ( only android ) I would buy when on SALE

I’ve tried dozens of in-ear wireless headphones over the years, and nothing — nothing — comes close to what Sennheiser has delivered here. The sound quality is simply unmatched. Crystal-clear highs, deep and rich bass, and an immersive soundstage that makes you forget you’re wearing earbuds. These are hands-down the best in-ear headphones I’ve ever experienced. The companion app is a game-changer. It lets you fine-tune the audio compression for even higher fidelity — perfect for audiophiles who want every detail from their music. I was genuinely blown away by how personalized you can make the sound, especially with the multiple earpiece options that optimize for your ears. It takes a little time to set up, but the result is audio perfection. While they’re not specifically marketed for workouts, I’ve used them at the gym and they outperform every “fitness” headphone I’ve tried — including Bose. These don’t just deliver great sound, they elevate it. Thank you, Sennheiser, for setting the bar this high. Worth every penny, and then some.

In the recent years, I have developed a passion for quality earphones/headphones. I was first introduced to Beats, and for a while, I thought it is the best sounding thing there is. Then when Bose came out with their ANC technology, I got their Original QC earbuds. It was and still is absolutely one of my all time favorite. From functionality, to sound quality - just a solid and well-invested product by Bose. I became a fan, and started buying their headphones. Bose has that prefabricated sounds signature, which for a while I thought is incomparable anywhere as it just sounds… good and comfortable. It is just right. After 2 years of owning those, the Bose QC Ultra came out, and I was all in ready for a revolutionary upgrade. I was absolutely in excitement to try out their new products BUT was quickly disappointed. ANC is still second to none, but the sound stage and sound engineering has changed causing the music experience to be, to me, reduced. The sound is now “less” prefabricated, and sounds shalllower. Their immersive audio technology expand the sound stage but it is not naturally how a song supposed to be. Let me tell you, because of the disappointment, I then tried EVERYTHING. Sonys, Jabra, Apples, Bose… nothing gives me the satisfaction like the Bose QC original earbuds that I was looking for. Nevertheless, I learned something! Bose is nice with their prefabricated sound signature and sounds engineering (the position of the sound of the music you’re listening to like the mid is in the middle of your head, bass is surrounded, and treble is kinda top left and right) which give you an amazing listening experience. However, Sonys, theyre are more detailed. I dont have time so let me cut to the chase, I then discovered the Sennheiser MTW 4. ANC is a bit below Bose and Sonys, but THE SOUND QUALITY. It is clear and detailed with spacious soundstage and sound engineering. I learned the term sound resolution, and it id Sennheiser. Its like w Bose you’re watch a 1080p video but w Sennheiser it is 4k. I use iphone, and from my research, I am limited to get the highest sound resolution these buds can offer. However, when going to the setting and set it to Hi-Res sound, it still blows everything, or at everything I have tried, out of the water. Furthermore, Sennheiser, they care about their products and listen to their customers, at least from my experience. The Bose QC original earbuds is still a classic to me (amazing vocal and treble) but now when I am sitting down and really want to listen to some detailed, high resolution music. You already know. And I really dont know what’s up with other low-star reviews. Do your own research and try these out. Everything is just right w these (sounds, battery, anc, a trusted company, and a lot more). Give credit where credit is due. Bose and Sennheiser, if you guys see this, please keep on improving.

I was looking for a replacement for Sony WH-XB900N after it was discontinued. Sony's newer models don't reach the same lows, but I was able to get pretty close with a bit of tuning on the Sennheiser Sennheiser Momentum TW4. The earbuds themselves are quite sturdy. I dropped them a few times on granite floors and pavements without as much as a scratch. But if the case drops, it would pop open and the earbuds inside would roll out. The hinge of the case feels noticeably looser after a while.

The sennheiser TW4 have sound quality that reminds me of the Sony mX series earbuds. That's not me giving a compliment by the way I left Sony earbuds and headphones a long time ago when I tested them out in the hype that they sound so good based off all the normies telling me so. So little did I know that these people must have hearing damage because I can't stand how they sound. To describe it in terms I would say it sounds muffly and has too much bass and not enough clarity. That's how I would describe the Sony experience in my opinion. Now back to the sennheisers. I'm sad to say that I returned my sennheiser TW3s for these downgraded upgraded versions quote on quote. The sound quality as far as clarity isn't as good, the base somewhat crackles. The wingtips feel harder and a little more uncomfortable. The only thing I could say that is upgrade is the battery life is better, and the copper look looks cooler. Beyond that I'm wrestling if I good jest return these for my previous versions or maybe return these for a different brand that I heard is all so very very good or wait it out until they release new firmware updates that fix the sound. Because it's true that we've all had phones or earbuds you're supposed to let them cook for a couple hours like 20 or so, it's called the "burn in effect". But you know something's off when $60 soundcore a40s sound better than $300 earbuds....

Now overall these earbuds have great hardware built into them some of the best hardware out there but not everyone is going to take full advantage of these earbuds because not all phones support aptx adaptive, HD, and lossless now they have gret battery life, some very strong magnets in the case, great fast charging and a premium build but heres my problem with them there not comfortable atleast for my ears and my phone the samsung galaxy s23 ultra doesnt support all the codecs so to me they dont sound that impressive and the tranceparency mode could be better so for this price i cant recommend your honestly better with the technics az 80s there overall better and pretty much everyone on the android side will be able to take advantage of them because every android phone supports ldac codec with is the codec the technics have so at $300 the technics are overall better and more people will be able to full advantage of them. So the senheizers are going back

Very shocked i have been through a lot of earbuds, expensive ones and cheap ones and the ones I stopped on where the Sony W4 and W5s earbuds and i wanted to just see if these could be even close and I've got to admit i got them on 12/28 and today is 1/4/25 and im not taking them back so believe me when I say im 1 of those people that will take something back in a heart beat if it doesn't work just as good if not better than what I've got, needless to say they are worth it or at least a shot

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 is not only an incredibly long name but also a but of a dark horse in the world dominated by Bose, Sony, and Apple. The TW4 outperforms the QC Ultra and AirPods Pro 2 in terms of sound quality. The noise reduction, however, falls a bit behind mentioned competitors. Spatial audio is not supported and really only works well on the airpods. The charging case for the latter is by far the smallest of the three and offers wireless charging, as does the Sennheiser, The TW is similar in size to the Bose, albeit in different proportions. In terms of features, the AirPods are in their own class, as ling as you use Apple devices. Overall, they are my favorite for daily use, but the TW4 is my preference when sound quality matters. That’s even with the other producing excellent sound … just not as great.

I’ve been using Sennheiser Momentum 4 over ear headphones for a while and the comfort, sound, and features are all top notch. They are the undisputed king of my headphone collection. That positive experience compelled me to try these Momentum 4 buds to determine whether they are just as good. Despite a couple minor initial bumps, these buds proved to be on par with the full sized offering as far as music sound quality. The buds are housed in a stylish slip resistant fabric charging case that can be charged via the included USB-C cable or a Qi wireless charger. No wall or Qi charger is included. I assumed setup would be easy due to my already having the Sennheiser Smart Control app installed on my smartphone. However, I opened the app, clicked add a new device, and received an error stating “something went wrong”. I closed the app, opened my phone’s Bluetooth settings, and manually paired the buds in there. They were immediately detected by the app when I relaunched it. The app indicated the buds needed a firmware update, so I clicked to apply. Again, I encountered the “something went wrong” error message and the update failed. Seeing the same vague error twice within a few minutes didn’t exactly fill me with confidence. I tried again, but the app falsely indicated the firmware was already up to date. Luckily, it was another easy to resolve issue. I simply closed the app and waited a few minutes. When I re-opened the app, the pending firmware update notification reappeared, and I was able to apply the update which took about five minutes to complete. I haven’t encountered any similar errors or issues since. Once the buds were finally charged, paired, and updated, I tried them on. Both buds surprisingly fit into my ears securely and comfortably with a good seal using the preinstalled tips and fins. I confirmed proper fit using the in-app fit test. Additional sized tips and fins are included if needed. I had a television playing in the background at moderate volume and could still clearly hear it when I first inserted the buds. I opened the Sennheiser app, clicked noise cancellation, and the room instantly went near silent. It was a little jarring how much environmental noise these buds immediately blocked even without music playing. These have the best ANC I’ve encountered on buds so far. That’s even considering my white pro buds, which previously held the best bud ANC title in the household. When I need to hear the surrounding environment, transparency mode works well with barely any detectable white noise. I haven’t had an opportunity to try these in extremely noisy environments yet, but based on what I’ve witnessed so far, I can’t wait to try them on a flight soon. The ANC was impressive but the real treat was when I began playing music. I love the default neutral sound profile. I’m not referring to neutral in the flat non-appealing way, but rather in a way where everything sounds nicely balanced. No tones overpower others. There’s no sloppy or distorted sounding bass, no shrill highs, and no muddy mids. Everything pops perfectly in sync with impressive fidelity. These buds are great for complex musical arrangements and instantly became my new go to buds for jazz. I decided to test the low end to see how hip hop sounded and these again didn’t disappoint. Most songs had tight, impactful bass and even the deeper frequencies sound good. Overall, it is a great listening experience and these buds easily proved their ability to handle multiple genres each presenting unique sound challenges. If the default sound profile isn’t quite to the liking, the app has a five-band equalizer and bass boost option for further fine tuning if desired. The controls are the usual touch/tap style inputs that control ANC, volume, answering calls, and music playback. Touch controls can be disabled in the app, a convenient option for active use situations such as workouts, where buds may frequently have to be readjusted and merely touching a bud can result in unintentional commands like pausing the music, disabling ANC, or advancing the track. Battery life is good. The charging case reliably keeps the buds topped off, allowing me to listen to music for a couple hours daily for several days before needing to recharge the case. I don’t typically use regular buds for phone calls and online meetings, but tested these on a few calls to judge call sound quality. Surprisingly, that’s where I was least impressed. My voice sounds fine on the other end and the noise cancelling mics do a good job of suppressing background noise so the other parties hear me clearly. On my end however, callers sound flat and occasionally muffled. It’s not terrible but voices aren’t as clear sounding as some of my other buds. These are good enough for the rare occasions I need to use them for unexpected calls I receive while listening, but they wouldn’t be my first choice for business calls or video conferencing. Overall, these buds impressed me and are every bit the bud equivalent of the fantastic Momentum 4 headphones. Call quality was slightly underwhelming, but I seldom use buds like these for calls anyhow. So, it’s not a big issue for me. Sennheiser knocked it out of the park in all other areas and I’m looking forward to countless hours of music listening enjoyment with these outstanding sounding buds.
