From the manufacturer's description that says it can go 330 ft away from the receiver and through walls I just want 20 ft into my kitchen and I told him lost reception with receiver I was still in line of sight the receiver,so don't believe what the manufacturer description says it is not true,I'm returning this Sennheiser RS 175 headset back to Best Buy I expected more for price I paid for this headset.I don't recommend this headset because of limited range

Due to my wife's hearing issues, whenever she would watch a TV show, she would turn up the volume much louder than I would care to enjoy. I needed wireless headphones for her so that I can focus on work in a quiet setting. Didn't want to buy the cheaper brand/model because I am all about quality.
Setup was easy. The only thing that I had wait for were the batteries to charge. While you can use them after charging them for a bit, I decided to wait until they were fully charged before letting my wife try them out.
These are top-notch headphones. I have a couple of Sennheiser wired headsets that I use for gaming and phone conferences, but never had any experience with the wireless headphones. My wife is very happy with the quality of sound that comes out of it, and I am happy with the fact that they do what they are supposed to do.
One important thing to note: if you have a Samsung Smart TV and want to watch a movie that's on a USB device (hard drive/flash drive) or watch Netflix via its built-in app, then these will NOT work for you. Reason being is that the headphones require an analog/optical sound output connection to the wireless base station, but the Samsung Smart TV does not output its sound through that connection. While we can hear the sound coming from our DVD/Blueray player and from the TV itself, the Sennheiser is currently not compatible with any movie watching on USB devices that are directly connected to the Smart TV or Netflix via the built-in app.
The only solution that I could find was to use a device that is connected to Smart TV (in this case, our Blueray Player), and then, connect my USB device to the Blueray player (thankfully, it had one). The Blueray player also has access to Netflix as well, so she can watch/listen to Netflix movies. The bottom line is that you need a device that is currently connected to the Smart TV, and then use its USB functionality / Netflix app, as the sound will be able to travel to the device and to your headphones via the optical/analog connection to the TV.
Hopefully my review helped anyone interested in these headphones. Great headphones overall, but watch out for incompatibilities with Smart TV functionalities. If Sennheiser were able to make these headphones connect via bluetooth, then we would be all set, as USB stored movies and Netflix via the built-in TV app work just fine with bluetooth speakers.

so long story short, I live in a Motorhome that I restored. its 20 feet long and 8 feet wide with 9000 miles. I bought it for nothing, rebuilt it, and made it mine. I have very limited space, and enjoy movies, tv, music, ebooks etc. bluetooth quickly proved to be an issue if I let even one MM of metal between the headphones and the source, it cut out. period. not to mention, the bluetooth signal is very power draining and weak at that.
these are different. you charge two AAA batteries either on the stand in the headphones themselves, or you can charge the AAA outside it. I use a nitecore smart charger, i4 with 12v source. they charge within an hour, and give me a week of everyday use in one charge. I'm able to connect the headphone jack directly from my MacBook Air(2015) to the headphone transmitter stand. I can get several hundred feet like this, a little less if its through the front section of the motorhome. I check power draw on every single thing I use, awns this is where these headphone sheen the most. when turned on and being used, they draw about 4 watts. I don't have a more precise way to measure, but 4w is very, very little especially for how nice the sound is. I understand the AAA provide most of the power, while the stand only transmits the signal. it works very well.
as for the headphones themselves, outstanding quality. as I've said I live in a motorhome, so these things vibrate, bounce around(they don't fall or anything), and still work every single day.
pros
-comfy and do NOT clamp onto my head, I'm, 6'3" with a big head at that. I often forget I'm wearing them.
-great sound, I use these over my Sony mdr1000x whenever i can. I only use the Sonys when I'm in a loud area.
long, long battery life with REPLACEABLE AAA. this is key, if you take care of these and nothing ever shiorts out inside, they should also indefinitely. batteries don't hold charge? no problem, put new ones in.
-power draw is 4w, incredible
-bass boost and functions, I've turned on bass boost the day I bought them and never turned it off. I like bass, and don't like making other people hear it.
-not noise cancelling(eyes its a pro, I need to be bale to hear if anyone is outside)
CONS:
pricey, though I payed 170$ during a 4th of July sale
bulky, large cups. limited space, its great for me just know they are big. each cup is like a slightly inflated baseball that was slightly squished by a giant, so its got the mass of two baseballs but kinda flattened
-slow charging on stand.
just buy them, they are amazing.

The headphones are actually really good. They sound great minus 7.1 surround. I'll get to that. They are comfy. They fit will. The battery life is awesome. The downside. The foam on the ears feel cheap but comfy. And as I said the surround around system is good as long as what your doing supports it. If you have it on for example a YouTube video is echos really really bad.

Comfortable to wear over the ears, with quite a bit of sound deadening from the over the ear muffs. I enjoy the ability to add bass and surround sound effects as I exercise while watching TV, DVD's or listening to Music.
Very easy to set up. Plug into electric and connect to TV via optical connection, or connect to the sound jack on the front of receiver. Wait for the batteries to charge and they are ready to use.

We have Direct TV and SONY surround sound. According to Direct TV and the Geek Squad, there is no way to use both the head phones and the surround sound. With the help of a salesman at Best Buy's home theater, we figured out that we can purchase a splitter on Amazon from which splits the audio out slot. So, now we can use these headphones. And, they work both with another person watching without headphones (using the surround sound) and with the surround sound off. They have excellent sound, have great noise cancelling, are very comfortable, and do their own surround sound through the headphones.

These headphones are absolutely amazing. We purchased them for our dad, who is a disabled veteran and has some hearing loss. They have made such a huge difference in our home. He can now hear the TV clearly without us having to turn the volume up loud throughout the entire house.
They also work great with hearing aids, which was extremely important for us and made the experience even better for him. The setup was very simple and user-friendly, which was a big plus. The sound quality is excellent, and the comfort allows him to wear them for extended periods without any issues.
I highly recommend these headphones to anyone who shares a TV but needs two different volume levels. They’re a game-changer, especially for families with loved ones who have hearing difficulties.

These headphones produce great sound! The features they include (surround sound and bass boost) are easy to use and add a good deal to the value of the product. The only downside is that you have to find place to put the receiver so that there is little to no interference between the headset and the receiver (this includes setting it away from your modem, not setting it behind anything metal, etc). Once I found the right spot in my apartment, the sound never skipped a beat.

These headphones sound very good. I usually turn on my stereo receiver (with full surround sound) to watch movies, but these headphones sound almost good enough not to do that. The sound would be good enough, but the surround effects wouldn't be there. Still they are a huge upgrade over just the TV speakers and I can pick up the dialog much better.
There is just a slight delay in the sound - you can't tell with just the headphones on, but if you take one ear off and have the TV sound on, you can tell there is a slight difference. You can't get this small of a delay with bluetooth headphones, bluetooth is way worse.
Haven't tried to run the batteries down to see the life span.
You do have to turn the headphones on each time you use them, even when taking them right off the charger. Takes maybe 5 seconds at most to connect.

I have had two sets of Sony headphones that were in the $100 range and used them when my wife is asleep at night. I got these and they are amazing sound quality. The only thing is I wish they were able to go a little bit louder. They have great range and seem to hold a charge pretty well for me! Definitely Reccomend.

Love these headphones, had these in my old house and I purchased them 4 years ago, they were awesome. Got broken in my recent move, so I went and got a new set. Just as good as they were the first time, That sound is incredible and I highly recommend, very easy setup. Make sure you charge them fully before you use them. Only charge them when they get down to about 20%. This will ensure you get long battery life.

I wear, and have worn, A LOT of headphones. Partly because I have a slight hearing loss in one ear and I don't want to blast sound from the TV just to hear. I've tried some less expensive products from companies who we all think are leaders in this industry. While the Sennheiser RS 175 headphones are on the pricey end, I probably could have saved myself time and money in the long run if I would have started my headphone journey by picking the RS 175. I no longer have a single iota of an issue with static/interference like I did previously. The sound these produce along with no more issues with interference alone make them well worth the premium cost. I've worn these for hours and hours with no discomfort at any point of contact. Having an over the ear headphones keeps the majority of the noise contained. If you are really blasting the volume in the headphones, there will be some sound that others, not wearing headphones, can hear. As I previously mentioned, I have tried all types of headphones from a super long wired set of headphones to multiple different wireless sets and I could have saved all of that time and money if I would have selected the Sennheiser - RS 175 headphones to begin with.

I use these mainly for gaming. Very good sound quality. Not the most comfortable to wear though till you dial it in perfectly and then they are ok. Wires are prone to being loosened by cats walking past it which results in a crackling noise, not a issue if you dont have a cat. Connectivity, can only go about 15-20 feet before audio starts cutting in and out, but my house is very solid so if you live in a house mostly compromised of drywall and dreams you can probably expect longer range.

Bought these for at night due to the fact I live in an apartment so I’m not blasting movies/tv shows/or games late at night and they sound amazing. Super easy to setup and battery lasts a long time. Also with these there’s zero latency which is great cause when I was originally just using Bluetooth headphones I would see people’s mouths move before I even heard the words. With these I don’t have that problem at all.

These headphones are super light, comfortabe and have great sound. Love that you can boost or reduce the bass depending upon whether you want to listen to music or movies. The only thing I can criticize is that you need to be precise in setting them back into the cradle.

Love RS 175 RF because I use it to listen to TV all the time. And if my wife wants to listen she can as the sound bar and the wireless headphone works in lue of or with the sound bar. The headset makes up for my hearing loss!

Needed surround sound earphones so I could experience my movies without disturbing others in the house. This set has selectable surround sound and on ear volume and bass adjustments. This is a good alternative to be able to enjoy my movies. The head set is a little tight after wearing for over an hour but not intolerable.
