I've been having an issue hearing voices on the tv clearly, and thought I'd try these. After some research, these Sennheiser are highly rated, and for good reason. The battery lasts a long time (I've listened for hours with them, and I recharge them about every 2 or 3 days, just to make sure they don't die), they're pretty comfortable (although I get up and take them off every 30-60 minutes, for 5-10 minutes), and they have several sound controls from flat to surround, with "Bass Boost", which I don't use, because I don't listen to music, just tv. I think these were better for me than the 195's, because the voice quality is just as good with the 175. The connection hasn't dropped, even for a second, and I walk around the house at times, just to keep listening.

I love these headphones. They were easy to set up and are comfortable to wear. The sound is great and love being able to get up and walk out of the room without having to take them off. Completely satisfied with this purchase.

I have always struggled with getting good headphones audio that captures a cinema feel with booming bass and clear speech. I also happen to live in a major city in an apartment building, so blasting a surround sound set up is a no-go. While I have the excellent Sony WHXM4s that pair with bluetooth to my tv, the audio delay and lip syncing issues that come with bluetooth are horrendous and really breaks immersion. These headphones were exactly what I wanted. First, the overall sound quality right out of the box is already amazing. I would have been perfectly happy even if there were no effects to choose. The bass is already boomy without being overpowered. Speech is crystal clear. I seriously have picked up on dialogue that used to be garbled. You can toggle a bass booster or a virtual surround sound effect. I use the bass booster on certain content that needs a bit more oomph, but I found the virtual surround effect to just make things sound tinny and leave it off. They already have an immersive sound without it. They also get LOUD. Almost every pair of bluetooth headphones have had disappointing max volumes. I love that I can crank it and never even get up to the max volume. Next, there is absolutely no audio delay or lip syncing issues I can perceive. The radiofrequency signal is vastly superior to bluetooth in this regard. Other pros include easy charging (just plop it on the stand when done) and solid battery life (Have binged for about 6 hours without charging and no issues). The range is also ridiculous. I went to the other end of my apartment and on the porch with no signal loss. They are also very comfortable. Absolutely no issues wearing for hours at a time. I have very few cons with this as I think this is arguably the best way to watch movies with headphones. The virtual surround effect is not great though, as mentioned. You also may run into interference because it is radiofrequency. I had a disconnect once, but this was solved by turning off my 2.4 ghz channel on my wifi router. Also, you will get interference if you run a microwave (but only if it is close by). I will also say that charging stand, while functional, is a little cheap-feeling. Lastly, a very minor thing, but I wish there were audio prompts when you turn it on or when the battery is low. Overall, these are just nit-picks and I am beyond satisfied with these headphones.

Great headphones with exceptional sound quality and bass. However, audio drops off randomly. Also, the rechargeable batteries don't last for 5 hours without recharging.

Bought these for my dad who hearing is going and causing a lot of conflict in the house over TV volume. The volume range is excellent and the "bass" button really works well. In addition, the 3 level "surround sound" works awesome. Comfort is good but due to the leather ear cup material, they tend to build up warmth due to constrained body heat though I've worn these for hours and felt comfortable in them. Be aware that these are definitely isolating headphones and you may not hear the phone ring when watching or be able to get the attention of someone who is. . These are pricey, but IMHO, worth the investment. -1/2 star for comfort -1/2 star for price. Overall a solid 4 star /5

I've had Bose, Sony, the works and not one of those brands competes or compares to the Sennheiser Headphones. At times it sounds better than a complete 9.2 system and yes the .2 makes a difference. The ability to adjust the bass makes all the difference in the world. Thank you

Sounds great fits like a glove very comfortable. Works well when kids or loud people are around so you can still hear the T.V. I like it very much.

This is my second set of wireless Sennheiser headphones. I got about eight years of useful life out of my first set, until the (non-removable) battery in the headset stopped working. Therefore, the first thing I noticed in a positive way about this model (RS 175) was the fact that it runs on two (rechargeable) AAA-sized batteries. Not only can you replace AAA batteries as needed, you can have your headphones ready for use at all times—since, obviously, you can switch between sets of batteries. These aren’t noise-canceling headphones, but the over-the-ear design naturally does a bit to muffle the noise coming from your surroundings. I use the headphones to stay connected to what I’m listening to as I move around the house. If you—like me—use a device that has a 6.3mm headphone jack, note that the RS 175 transmitter station comes with a 3.5mm plug, and there is no adapter included. (In my case, that was no big deal; I did have an adapter handy.) The wireless range is specified at 328 feet. I haven’t been more than 30 feet away from the transmitter, but I can say this: Standing close to a microwave oven in operation can cause slight interferences, and slight dropouts may result from a lot of steel and concrete in the path. Okay, that was to be expected, and other than that, transmission/reception has been working very well. The transmitter sits about 3 feet away from the Wi-Fi router, and so far I have never noticed one interfering with the other. The controls on the headset are easy to get used to. The buttons are set up in a 4x4 array that is easy to “feel out.” It is also easy to learn what each button is for (volume up; volume down; surround sound; and bass boost). I don’t use the bass boost much; the sound coming from my stereo is just fine, and the headphones reproduce it well. The surround-sound options do make a difference, and there is that one option I have been keeping the phones set to, because it makes the sound “spatial” without making it feel artificial. The phones are adjustable three ways: up and down; tilt; and swivel. That part of the design works well for me, if the sideways pressure/grip is a little tight for my liking (my previous Sennheiser phones sat over my ears more loosely). The fact that I wear glasses is not the issue here, but the pressure does get a bit uncomfortable after some time, and it does get warm underneath these phones. Okay, that drawback is relatively minor; I only need the headphones for maybe up to 30 minutes at a time. All in all, this seems like a reliable gizmo that does what I need it to do, and does it well.

These are everything I expect from Sennheiser. I have had several of their hi-end over the ear headphones in the past and continue to use them with my stereo system. This brand was the first I went for when looking for a wireless set for my wife to use with the TV. The sound is amazing (of course) the wireless connection is perfect with no lag and they are fairly light. Not the lightest I tried, but this is to be expected because they have larger magnets in the speakers. First rate quality of materials and workmanship. LOVE THEM! (note: I bought the open box and saved a ton)

The sound is great and since these are over the ear headphones, they really deaden ambient noise amazingly. They are a bit snug, so I have to periodically readjust them for long-term wearing comfort. Charging is a bit tricky. You have to play with them a bit when you put them on the charging stand to get them in the correct position. I also find that the charge doesn't last as long as my old Sennheiser HDR 120 headphones, which I still use on TV in a different room. Set up was pretty straight forward with the optical connection, though I was glad I had read some of the Q&As before purchasing. It's the only reason I knew I had to set the audio output to PCM. One downside for us is we can't have one person listen through headphones and one listening through the television. I suspect it's because we do not have a soundbar or other audio components hooked up to the TV. Our setting choices are either TV speakers or Audio system on our Sony Bravia XR77A80L OLED TV. Not a deal breaker though. Still enjoying great sound!

Easy set up and installation. The sound is superb with strong bass. The build feels like cheap plastic, but the sound is premium which is what you need from tv headphones. I would pick these up if you don’t have a dedicated surround system or if you want a good solo listening experience

Has changed Mom's life! A new neighbor with apparently super-acute hearing and a bad temper to match moved in and complained about her TV. She LOVES her headset - and they can connect to her hearing aids if she wants, or use without. They are comfortable and the sounds is excellent.

Great clear sound! Really separates the sounds and have a long range, can get up and go into other rooms of my house and still hear what is going on! My only complaint is that the on & off button could be a tad larger, and the volume buttons also. I think if they glowed in the dark it would be a great addition also! But excellent sound quality and very comfortable to wear!
