Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the straightforward hack-and-slash gameplay as a positive aspect, along with the enjoyable fighting mechanics and diverse cast of characters. However, some find the story to be lacking in depth and somewhat lighthearted. Overall, the game's strengths appear to lie in its action and characters.

Why beat around the bush. It's a hack n slash with a lot of T N A . . . which is great with everything being so censored these days. There are also some really cool looking combos in the game. . . don't expect a complex story or gameplay. The game comes with a VERY nice art book . . . i was surprised at the quality. . . comes with a soundtrack. and even a pack of cards which are also really good quality If you like anime type looking games, hack and slash, chicks in costumes. . . this is the game for you. keep in mind the game is in Japanese and has english subtitles.

    Goofy, risque hack n' slash

Having heard about this from a friend, and as a general fan of hack n' slash games, I gave this a try. For those unaware, this a definitely a Japanese game (by which I mean that there's definitely a cultural difference when it comes to the game story, as well as the amount of fanservice), and I can't recommend the game for its story (it's pretty goofy/risque). In a lot of ways, it feels a bit similar to Onechanbara both in style and substance. As for the combat though, it's serviceable, and there's a leveling system in the game where you develop more moves over time, adding a bit more fighting depth to the encounters. There are also 25 different characters that you'll get to use over the course of the story, and they can be used freely after completing each story mission the first time. The enemies you fight tend to have the AI of mob groups in Dynasty Warriors/musou games, and the 'bosses' are often the other named characters and can be the more interesting encounters. The level design is mostly uninspired/bland, with a number of artificial barriers that appear when various mobs spawn. However, the best part of this game is likely the online component, where you fight other people online in a range of modes. From my experience with it, both the Japanese and North American communities look to be grouped together, which is important since this is a niche title. The combat here is fast paced, no frills fun, although beyond the 'fun' factor, there's no special incentive to continue fighting others online over the long term. It would have been nice if there were some sort of rewards system in place to keep people playing/earning items, and perhaps they'll consider doing so in the future. All in all, Estival Versus is a serviceable game. If you aren't easily offended by fanservice (if you're unaware of what I mean, or haven't really seen the game, YouTube some gameplay for a better idea) or a lackluster story, you can find a fair bit of fun with its combat system and variety of characters.

    Ridiculous fun! ***

I bought this game on impulse of just japanese ridiculousness and it didn't come up short. The game is about female ninja/shinobi style with different schools, but are teleported to a tropical island to battle each other. Gameplay is straight forward hack n slash with some extra features like special take downs a strip super saiyan stuff, tutorials walk you through for a few levels. Difficulty jumps around, but its a fun experience overall, is you like Hack n Slash games, this is a must to any collection as long as you can get by some awkward cut scenes, you'll be good! Oh forgot to mention I got an art book, and CD, both are high quality and make the purchase pretty much worth it for me alone!

I originally bought Shinovi Versus when it came out and I loved it. Estival versus does not disspoint either! It comes with a soundtrack, artbook, reversible cover, and holographic foil cards for the price of a new game. The gameplay is twice as good, with dual aerial attacks and mulitplayer!

Very good fighting game, that moves slower and takes guard cancelling away basically from previous installments. Graphics are amazing and is just mindless hours of fun. Online is buggy but it will be patched.

This game is great if you are looking for some mindless fun. The game is a very serviceable hack and slash and underneath the fan service is a game just meant to have fun it doesn't take itself to seriously. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys hack and slash with some fan service and character tropes.

If you like hack and slash games it's fun and there's a lot to do but its repetitive in a good way if you like games like this, alot of fan service and the online is fun at times. up to 10 players can play at least 6 different modes and there's DLC on the way. I liked it.

A very excellent game that doesn't shy away from being shunned by taboos of western ideals but still stands on its own with humor and gameplay that doesn't stress out the player.

This is the best version of the game. Top Notch, graphically (leagues above the vita version). The limited edition for this game is really top notch. You get bunch of extras including soundtrack, cards, artbook, etc. The cover is reversible too. As for the game, its great but yeah there's fanservice. So know what you are getting into before buying.

Obviously this is not a game for everyone, I myself debated it. I chose to get it because of what I read of the battle mechanics (which are good). It doesn't have the deepest story and has many questionable elements; however, if you can look past the fan service it's a solid, reliable, and fun game.

Played Senran Kagura nonstop on 3ds and I can not get over the vast improvements in this new installment. Game bundled with art book and soundtrack guaranteeing a bang for your buck. Definitely not for kids but fans of the series will be deeply rewarded.

As w/ other Senran Kagura games, it has a very good "plot" lol. The fighting mechanics is fun and there's no shortage of fanservice in all its HD glory, huge step up compared to its Vita and 3DS cousins.
