While not truly a SAFE as it is not rated for fire or water protection at all; but it will work quite well at keeping your valuables out of the hands of the unprepared burglar who is looking to be in and out of the home in a couple of minutes. The electronic combo is easy to use & works without fail and when you turn the locking handle it locks down with a solid reassuring thud. NOTE: I added some extra felt weatherstripping to the door so that it would close a little tighter and not rattle. Prying the door open looks like it would be very difficult unless you had a large crowbar and some time; and the walls are made of fairly thick and sturdy sheet-metal but could be opened up fairly quickly with an electric grinder and a determined thief. I bought one primarily to keep my guns out of reach of the grand kids and secondarily out of the reach of the common house thief and for this purpose it is very well suited.
