This anime has very beautiful animation and the fight scenes are done very well. It has an interesting storyline which I have not watched before in previous animes.

Shakugan no Shana is centered around two characters; The Flame Haired, Burning Eyed Hunter Shana and Yuji Sakai. Shana is what is called a Flame Haze which is a being that has made a contract with a Lord of the Crimson Realm (...just think of them as demons in human form) in order to fight against Denizens and other Crimson Lords who would seek to disrupt the world by stealing everyone's power of existence.
Yuji is actuallly already dead...his existence having been taken away in the past by a Denizen. However, he has a special treasure inside of him that has caught the eyes of Flame Hazes and Crimson Lords who all want its power.
Started hearing good stuff about this series about a year ago and was pleasantly surprised to see Funimation releasing it with English dubs here in the U.S. Season 1 is 24 episodes long and it actually took me a lot longer to watch through it all (about 2 months# than I had expected. Story has good action, visuals, music, and plot. But there have been a lot more anime movies and series coming out that caught my attention a lot more than this one.
Just a couple things I didn't like with this one. One, Yuji is too ignorant. And two...the English voice-overs. Had to turn the Japanese vocals on less than half way through the first episode. I appreciate the effort, but the voices just didn't fit the characters...especially Shana.
The extras were very refreshing. Loved Shanatan and the Q&A session with the Hunter and Marianne was great.
This series has two more 24 episode seasons remaining with the next one coming out on December 18th #may purchase). This set ends on a note that could easily be the end so I'm not as drawn into getting the next season although I probably will later on.
