Destin Daniel Cretton is one of my favorite filmmakers working today. His other amazing films include I Am Not a Hipster, Short Term 12, The Glass Castle and Just Mercy. So I was really excited to see what he would bring to the MCU. Although he is working on a bigger scale than any of his previous movies, he is still telling a very focused, personal character story amidst all the action and spectacle. Also, Simu Liu gives a star-making turn in the lead role. He is a real find.

Although I haven't yet opened up this movie I've seen the preview and already know this will be a great movie! It hasn't been opened yet because it's a stocking stuffer for my daughter that has been really wanting to watch it for a good while. Well she won't have to wait too much longer Christmas is right around the corner. Best of all for being a loyal Bestbuy customer I was able to purchase this gift with my Best buy rewards! We saw this film in the theater then again at home on our big screen with the DVD. What a highly pleasing surprise that it was far better than we expected in every way. Anything with the iconic Michelle Yeoh is likely to be good and this near non-stop action flick did not disappoint. Good engrossing story, compelling characters, superb action, terrific cinematography, fine music and all done with Marvel Studios A-quality. Over 2 hours of escapist fun. Don't miss it!

I haven't been the biggest fan of Marvel Studio's Phase Four output of movies and tv shows so far, but I did find Destin Daniel Cretton's 2021 effort to be one of the more entertaining films of late. One can thank a terrific cast led by Simu Liu and Awkwafina for that. The action scenes are fun, and while the film follows the standard MCU formula right up until the end, it is never boring. Speaking of a standard formula, Disney's UHD release is similar to the other releases of Marvel's films: decent picture, sound that does the trick (if you turn it up) and a offering of supplements that are on the thin side. it does the trick, but they really need to start stepping up to the plate with better home video releases of these films.

Great debut Marvel film for an largely unknown character. Going into Shang-Chi And The Legend of The Ten Rings I didn’t really know what to expect but quickly had any doubts put to rest. The characters are likable and you begin to care for them quickly. That’s especially true in Shang-Chi’s case as you learn about his tragic backstory of him and his sister. You begin to quickly understand his motivations and his father’s, sisters, which I won’t say to much about to avoid spoilers.

I was very anxious for this movie because I was always a fan of the actual comic book character but Marvel eased all my concerns and blew this movie through the roof. The quality and dept of the story and characters was everything. Even the Mandarin gave you reason to feel bad for him at various points which spoke volumes to the quality of the writing. Add to the fact it was visually stunning as well. One of my all time favorite MCU movies.

When I saw this in theaters I didn't think it would be anything special, but boy was I wrong. Not only did i think this movie was good, I thought it was AMAZING! This is one of my favorite movies of the MCU. It is part of my top 3 with those being thor, black panther, and this one. So when it came out in steelbook i knew I had to get it and I did best choice I have made for my steelbook collection!!

Awkwafina steals every scene she’s in. This movie is a little brighter and more colorful than the later Marvel movies have been and looks pretty good here despite only getting HDR10. The action is great and the pacing is good. The picture here is presented in 2.39:1 where Disney+ shows both this and IMAX ratio it would have been nice to choose on the disc as well. The mix is Atmos, and while I enjoyed the mix but wasn’t blown away. It could have used more punch in the subs/low end so I wouldn’t say it’s a demo worthy movie if you are trying to impress enthusiasts but still fun to watch again and again. The digital copy was 4K Dolby Vision/Atmos.

Tony Leung is the greatest actor in the world, and most Americans got thier first taste of his talent in this movie. If you like him as Wenwu, find these movies: Hero, In the Mood for Love, The Grandmaster, Chunking Express (and any other Wong Kar Wai film), The Infernal Affairs Trilogy and the "Raiders" Trilogy. Not that one, but the Hong Kong movies Tokyo Raiders, Seoul Raiders, and Europe Raiders.

Some might call this a Marvel martial arts movie, but it's a bit more than that. It may not be perfect--the underlying plot element of family dynamics might be on the derivative side and some of the cinematography is unnecessarily de-saturated--but the overall presentation makes for a good and fun movie to watch. I found the martial arts choreography elegant, and particularly loved the incorporation of Oriental mythology into the story, as well as the cameos from other MCU characters. Sets, costumes, practical and visual effects, acting, stunts, and all the other production values were done within the usual Marvel Studios standards of excellence.

This was a great flick. Excellent story, strong cast/acting and beautifully filmed. Definitely one of my favorite Marvel films now. About the only nit I have with it is it suffers from Disney's typical middling sound mixing capabilities in Dolby Atmos. Wish they'd learn to mix it better and add a DTS track.

The movie is great. But this review is for the packaging. As you'd expect for this level of packaging, you don't get much. Just the BD of the movie itself. There isn't much extra content on the disc itself. But if all you want is the movie, this fits the bill. I bought this in-store and everything was in great condition.

Love this movie! You will be sitting on the edge of your seat!! The visual effects are exciting and amazing! Love the martial arts techniques and the movie scenes are Magical. I really love all the songs and especially the songs of Ta Lo. Every night I have been watching this movie, it's like I am seeing it for the 1st time, You gotta get this movie!!

Saw it in the theater and was impressed. Watched it at home and allowed the whole experience to sink in. One of the best origin movies told in a long time. I don't agree with the naysayers who complain that there's too much mysticism in the final battle. Shang-Chi's mother lived in a magical forest and his father had crazy powered bracelets. It's a good super-hero movie.

Wasn’t sure what to expect from this film. I was very surprised how much I enjoyed it. This is a top of the line Marvel film for sure. The characters, visuals, story and direction are all excellent. Plenty of action, character development, and humor. The film does slow down a bit in the third act, but ends with a bang. The steelbook is excellent as well, a must own.

I was so happy to see this movie about characters I was not very familiar with prior to watching it. Unlike many of Marvel's previous films, this one is an isolated tale, set against a unique cultural backdrop, and the story is rather self-contained. Much as I love the big blockbusters, I found Shang-Chi a refreshing departure in that it kept the cast smaller in scale, and allowed the cast of characters to grow and endear themselves to audiences. This is a film I can see myself coming back to, and I love the casting choices. Great to see so many veteran actor favorites partnered with more recent talent.

Shang-Chi is a fun movie and features a character that discovers his super power during his daily routine. His friend and sidekick Katy (Awkwafina) is hilarious and adds to the film, at least in my opinion. The 4K presentation and Dolby Atmos track are great if your home theater is up to the task.

I purchased this steelbook off of reviews alone, and the reviews did not disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The storyline was great, along with the action scenes and the acting. Happy to add this title to my collection.

Another typical release from Disney/Marvel that comes recommended while not expecting anything more from this disc release. The picture is sharp, with a touch of softness and low HDR that doesn’t pop in color as most others do. The slight hand in disappointment comes from the low mixed Atmos audio. Not heavy hitting or punchy as many of the MCU films are when seen in theaters. The bonus features are light, while more can be found on Disney’s streaming service if those are curious. Needless, its a must have for anyone who wishes to complete their current Marvel collection.

Another great film for the MCU, this movie is about another superhero who ran away from his birth right to the crime organization of his dad. There's many funny moments as well as action spaced out throughout the movie. He will become a great addition to the Marvel Universe. You should enjoy this film just like any other Marvel film. Recommended.
