Good, Flexible Steam Mop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark - Genius Steam Pocket Mop is a flexible solution for small to medium-sized requirements. The pads are very easy to attach without bending over and are reusable. The steam-blast mode puts out a powerful spray (though it requires that you lift up the mop and flip the pad over). The mop is flexible and very easy to use for getting around and under various furniture and cabinets. The usable pad surface is effectively doubled by the feature where you flip it over and use the other side. For it's price range, this is a very solid offering. A few suggested improvements: The instructions call for changing the handle when using it in hand-spray mode, which is only for the purpose of changing from having the water refill container clipped on the handle - to having a clip for the hand-spray bottle (unnecessary inconvenience); the mop does not stand up by itself and there is no system for hanging it up when finished. The unit comes with a helpful long cord and one other nice touch was that the instructions were entirely in English without the confusion of sorting through a mixture of other languages. I assume they make it available in other languages in a similar easy-to-read format. Again, for the price-range, this is a very capable, flexible steam-mop system for small to medium requirements.

Does what it should!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am new to Shark or any steam mops so this is my first experience with one. I have always seen these online or on TV but never thought they were worth the money. Now that I have had the chance to use this Shark steam mop I may have been missing out! (Or just got the first good generation of one) Some of the features are: + Touch free technology - Release the pad without touching it + Steam Blaster! + Included spray pocket mop for quick cleaning jobs + Quick steam at touch of a button All of these features work very well! The steam blaster will help loosen any stuck on dirt which will then allow the pad to get it off. Having only used this mop on tile floors it actually works very well considering the grout the pad has to clean. Some of the issues I see are: - Shorter power cord - Somewhat small water tank (Takes about 5 seconds to refill) - Pads are rated for 20 uses and washes (Can you get more? TBD) Overall I would still recommend the Shark - Genius Steam Pocket® Mop as a great way to clean your floors!

Nice steam mop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This steam mop has great steam power to clean the floors. And the shot of steam is a nice touch. The cord is long enough and the unit isn't too heavy. I love that the mop heads are washable! (Not sure how much replacement mop heads are, but I think these 2 will last for some time). Overall very nice steam mop for all your hard floors.

Well designed, easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The steam mop does a nice job of cleaning floors but the best part is the ease of use. They paid attention to all the little details when they designed it. The power cord is plenty long, wraps around hooks on the handle and has a quick release. The mop pad has a quick release - it drops right off and you just throw it in the washer to clean it. The water reservoir is easy to fill with the filler cup that comes with it. The mop has a low profile so you can get under low clearance furniture and beds. When you plug it in it's ready to use in 30 seconds, it steams evenly and doesn't leak or leave water trails. There is also a plain mop handle if you need to do a quick clean up with no steam. Too bad it doesn't come with a storage stand to keep the steam mop handle and plain mop handle together in one place - that is the only negative.

Not the best for Tile floors
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used the steam mop for the first time last night. I have TILE FLOORS and carpet in my house. No hardwoods. Below are my pros/cons. Pros: - Very east to set up. Literally took a few minutes. - Pretty lightweight. Easy to move around the house. - No touch pad release is fantastic. This is an excellent design and was very easy to use. - Did a decent job cleaning the floor. I do not think this mop is best for cleaning Tile floors. It's definitely more suited for hardwoods. But I still felt like the floors were cleaner than when I started. I also used the additional mop attachment with the spray bottle. Didn't really clean the floors any better but it did leave a refreshing smell. Cons: - Does not stand up on it’s own. This is similar to other Shark products but it really gets on my nerve. Having to lean products up against walls and counters is really annoying. - When the mop is flipped to have steam shoot out it seemed to be inconsistent spray.

Goodbye old school mop!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this steam mop right out of the box. It's easy to assemble, straightforward and easy to use. It is the ultimate quick solution to the cumbersome old-school mop that requires changing dirty water, buying mop heads and anything else you can think of with those old mops that just never seem to clean the way you want. Not to mention that lingering smell if you don't clean or dispose of the mop head properly. This steam mop is perfect in almost every way. I love the way it cleans the floor and doesn't leave the floor damp while using it. The boost of steam is perfect for the hard stains and gets them right up. If you are ina hurry or just need a quick spill clean up, the spray mop attachment is perfect and is just as easy to use. Great purchase and definitely recommend if you are willing to pay a hefty price for a mop.

I'm not expert but this is better than expected
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not used it much but after opening the package I got a bit more than I expected. I expected the steam cleaner and that works fine. Keep in mind that its not magic but the design offers two options for using the steam by flipping the "mop" part to the other side. Option 1 shoots the stream of steam into the center of the cleaning head so steams travels through the mop head. The other option puts the steam in front so the steam hits the floor directly. The little surprise was that the kit comes with another handle that lets you use the mop head like a regular mop which is nice for cleaning wood floors or just cleaning without steam. The power/steam handle also comes with a really long power cord so you don't have to plug and unplug very often while cleaning. To be clear the kit only comes with one mop head (the plastic part) and two mop pads and two complete handles. I bought another brand steam/mop a few years back and this is a great upgrade:)

Steam works great-extra handle non needed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Shark Steam mop will definitely replace our old steam mop. The package includes 1 steam mop head with 2 double-sided pads, 1 steam mop handle (with cord, fill cup), 1 dry mop handle (w/ cleaner & spray bottle) Pads can be attached 'hands free' in case it's wet or you don't want to get your hands dirty, but it's probably easiest if you use your hands to expedite the process. Easy to fill & see water level. Cup attaches to handle so you won't have to go looking for it. The double pads give you extra cleaning ability without having to change pads as often. The steam mop leaves the floor looking clean without any streaks. One disadvantage is you will need to use the Shark pads and cannot replace with a generic pad or cloth from home, but they seem durable/machine washable and there are two so this should not be a problem. There is a 2nd handle for spray and clean without steam (dry) with a solution provided by Shark. This is also a specific cleaner but I imagine you could refill their bottle with another cleaner of your choosing when it runs out. The cleaner says it's to aid the steam cleaning process, but the 2nd handle it attaches to does not have steam so I assumed it could be used with the steam mop or with the dry handle. I did not find a need for the 2nd (dry mop) handle, I believe it will just take up space and I can do everything I would with the steam mop handle, it's just a little bulkier. If they added a 2nd mop head to go with the 2nd handle it would be more useful, but since you have to change the mop head regardless, you might as well use the steam mop handle only in my opinion. The mop pad is double sided, that is it covers the mop head on both sides so you can flip it over and use the clean top side if the bottom gets too dirty and you get twice as much coverage before needing to change/wash it. The way to attach the pad is a little unusual but easy to figure out. You just slide the tabs from the mob head into the sleeves on the back side of the pad. All in all I think the mop works great, I would just eliminate the dry mop handle, or add a 2nd mop head to go with it. Great product.

Great beginner mop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never really thought I needed a steam mop until I got to try one out. For the most part, I keep my kitchen and dining floors quite clean. I used to clean these floors once every other week with the Swifter brooms, so I was very surprised when I turned on this steam mop and it was already picking up dirt and grime that I never noticed before. There are many good things to say about this mop. Its high point is of course the ability to use both sides of the mop - basically eliminates the need to change inbetween cleanings. It is very handy and intuitive to use. The instructions were simple, and I got it set up and cleaning in under 10 minutes. The unit itself is pretty lightweight, although I was surprised at the amount of force needed to operate the item. If there were other things to compliment Shark, it's that they were nice enough to include an additional cleaning pad, as well as cleaning solution for when you want to use the mop manually. However, this mop does not get to leave with a perfect rating though. As others have mentioned, there is no option for the mop to freestand on its own. This would have been a nice feature for when you want to move things around while mopping, and don't have a wall to lean the mop against. That said, the mop does a good job of not falling over, so you can store this without needing to hang it. All in all, I would definitely give this steam mop two thumbs up. It does what it's advertised to do, and quite well at that. I would recommend this without a problem.

Great for Pet Owners
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had an older steam mop that ended up leaking and dying. We got by without it for a while but once we got a new kitten we knew we needed one again. This one was much easier to assemble than the last one and has been more effective so far. Our kitten has fine hair, which just kind of swirls around when we sweep. The pads do a nice job of trapping it. And the steam is great for picking up food messes and shoeprints. Mine, not the cat's.

Big Improvements to Prior Shark Mops
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was just a few seconds assembling out of the box. The included Spray Pocket setup gives you the option to use the mop head as a "super swiffer" where you squeeze the trigger on an attached bottle of cleaner and go over the floor with it. The regular Shark steam mop has an easy-open filler spout, the usual visible water tank, and a quick release feature for the fabric mop head. This model has a standby button for the steam feature, where you are able to keep it ready while plugged in but not have steam come out. With no on/off switch for the overall power this is how you keep it from pushing out steam when you aren't ready. The mop doesn't have to be "bumped" to release steam, it comes out steadily. The release feature for the pad is great, you barely have to touch it to get it on and off the mop head. I think as a whole the floor is cleaner, but some of that is due to the pad--it has a waffle-weave of coarser material in it that I think "scrubs" the floor better than the older types of pads. This model did do a better job than my older model, and the swivel mop head was easy to maneuver on a linoleum floor.

Conveniently Useful and Quick!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Genius Steam Pocket Mop is just what the doctor ordered. It is convenient and always available when you need it. Available for those quick jobs that don’t require much, but still need to be done before things get worst. In my home, I have three types of flooring: tile, hardwood and carpet. My carpet hides the dirt so a simple vacuuming helps get anything else that’s visible. My wooden floors builds up with dust and need a gentle cleaning to keep the shine but not ruin the wood while my tile needs more care more frequently. Often times I find myself grabbing a paper towel to wipe the tile floor when I have a small spot or see an area where someone has made a gentle mess and didn’t bother to clean it up. But now thanks to the Genius Steam Mop, I’m able to quickly clean my floors without all the fuss. I can quickly grab it, clean up the spill or light dirt spot and move on. But it gets even better because the steam allows for tough stains and some serious cleaning whenever needed. The fact that it’s cleaning 99% of the germs makes it my first choice.

Awesome product that makes cleaning floors a snap!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical with this mop, especially on my hard wood and laminate floors. Now that I've had a chance to use it I'd highly recommend it for floors that it's safe to use on! Before you do on wood floors, check with your floor manufacturer to make sure it's safe to use it on your floor as heat and chemicals can damage the finish of some wood floors. Turns out, it's safe on my floors with cleaners designed for wood floors. The thing that I like most is it doesn't leave the floor wet for long and makes cleaning the floors a breeze compared to using a standard mop. Having two pads (yes it comes with two) makes it so you can always have a clean one on hand ready to go. Anyway, long story short, the old mop is out and this one is in!

You may know everything about cleaning but.....
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You don't have a clean floor until you use this mop. Period.Throw everything you know about cleaning and using a standard mop away... This powerful unit really does wonders on the tile floor in our apartment. Very easy to assemble too. That steam is pretty powerful and got out spots we thought were permanently on the floor. And we were using that mop that spins....... The unit looks like it has a learning curve at first when you use it, but it's straight forward after that. Don't let the manual or the assembly instructions intimidate you, connect A to A, ETC. One thing I do like, it dramatically cut my mopping time down in half, and I can take the mop head off and put it in the wash cycle. Shark has done it again.

Why didn't I get one sooner!!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this mop. I have over 1000 sqft of hard wood and vinyl flooring which normally takes a good 30-45 minutes and two different surface cleaners (chemicals) with approximately 4 gallons of water to clean with. With this mop I used about a quart of fresh water and was done in about 15 minutes and my floors dried instantly. My wood floors shine and I didn't need a drop of wax, polish or oil. I love the feeling on my feet of how clean my floor are. This mop left my house smelling fresh, my only wish is that I had gotten one sooner. It's simple to assemble and came with two different handles for different configurations. I would definitely recommend the Shark Genius Steam Mop, it's so simple to use.
