Customers consistently note the IQ Robot R101's excellent cleaning performance and ease of use, with many praising its effective pet hair pickup and long battery life. However, some users experienced issues with navigation and reported that the robot is sometimes noisy and the mapping process could be improved. While the price point is considered favorable by some, concerns were also raised regarding suction power and app connectivity.

This is the first robot vacuum I have ever purchased. It almost immediately developed an error code #2 which would not clear after powering up only three times. I went back to store and was told I probably got a lemon. This was also confirmed by Shark tech over phone. I thought I would give a replacement of the same make and model a second try. This robot does an awesome job at cleaning when its not trying to repeatedly climb several alluminum based sloped chairs (I have three of these bar stools in my house and magnetic tape wont work since docking station is in same room). It gets really annoying watching the robot repeated try to climb chairs - certainly doesnt learn from previous runs or mapping. It just climbs the next base for 5 minutes like the previous times which will probably end up damaging itself. The Shark phone App continually crashes while trying to research error codes or gain support about this issue. As I said, it cleans very well because I have all laminant flooring throughout my home. I've had it less than a month and I am amazed at how much junk it does pick up. Overall, I am undecided regarding this purchase because the phone application nor the robot have demonstrated themselves to perform as stated by manufacturer.

Love this purchase SO much! We have 2 cats that shed hair everywhere so we run it every morning while we WFH and it maintains our floors nice and hairless. Could not recommend more for other pet owners. It is a little loud at times and cat toys have been absorbed and broken by it so careful with what you leave on the floor. Worth it tho!

Got this Shark robot vacuum on sale for $260 down from $400...after going from the Roomba i3, to two other Shark models before finally settling on this one (yep - I returned all three), the Shark RV101 would have been worth the cost at it's original price. The only reason it gets 4/5 starts is because I question the reputability of Sharks suctioning capabilities. Especially after seeing how the Roomba i3 performed...the specs state that this Shark model outperforms other robots in cleaning power. It definitely picks up debris, but I don't know if it's actually more powerful than Roomba. With Roomba, my carpet was actually lifting up and leaving a noticable track in its path. Roomba fell short with it's AI features - mapping, and connecting. I'm really impressed at how intuitive this Shark robot is at learning my home, finding the dock, and with the row by row cleaning feature. I also like how there's different speeds for the vacuum. I can do my whole apartment (approximately 1K sq ft) on max vacuum for about 45 minutes and still have about 40% battery left. Charges pretty quick, also. The only other negative is it is louder than other robot vacuums. I got used to it after a few runs...even the cats are now too. At first it was a bit startling. Syncing with WiFi was seamless. To have it work and be user-friendly, I can look past the negatives. The app isn't bad. You can customize the map and set schedules, but it does lack some features.

The product is great it does what its supposed to do, BUT it takes for ever to map your home, I’ve bought it for Black Friday and it still hasn’t mapped out my house, have erased it a couple of times, the Thing is that it will map only if the lights are on, which is a mess I run it when I’m at work I don’t want to leave the lights on for 8hrs+ every day. That’s why I’m not giving it 5 stars they should do an update and add night vision to the camera

Great concept & price point, but fails to deliver. I like that it has a low profile and doesn't get stuck under things, and it also easily transitions from hard floor to carpet. One of the cons is that you can't program it to clean at night unless you leave lights on. The IQ technology isn't very good at all. I have a 1700 sf house and a very simple layout. According to the app, the machine has run 7 times, and cleaned 4802 sf, but it has yet to create the map, or venture into some of the rooms other than a few swipes as it heads in and out the doorway to the nearest wall. The battery lasts 1 1/2 hours, which is good, but every time it cleans, it starts over and rarely gets into other rooms. The first time on the recharge and resume cleaning, it only ran an additional 20 minutes before it thought it was done and just went back to the charger with 80% battery remaining. It also will only do 1 recharge and resume, and even if it's still not done, you have to start over. Another time it went back to the charger with 40% battery remaining and cleaned the same areas as the first time. Right now, it's on another recharge and resume mission, but has only cleaned the exact same rooms that it cleaned before it recharged. I have made sure we are home to 'babysit' it while it cleans and creates the map, which has been rather frustrating watching it keep cleaning the same rooms in random patterns. I have also kept the home base in the same spot, and it has run over that several times in it's cleaning pattern. It got lost heading back to the charger once and just stopped in the middle of the room because it ran out of juice. I called customer support 2 days ago to find out why it won't search out the new areas to clean, but they said a specialist would have to call me back in 1-2 days. What?!? And so far, no call. I will be returning this product.

I’ve always pushed off the idea of a robot vacuum due to having two dogs that shed terribly. I thought it would be a waste of money and I’d still have to vacuum daily.
I am so so so glad we finally got one! This particular model is listed in the top 3 robot vacuums on consumer reports and stated it worked great for dog hair - and it DOES!
I have it set to clean at 1200 daily and it picks up so much dog hair! I rarely “real” vacuum (maybe every week or every 2 weeks”. It is such a time saver and makes my (truly diagnosed OCD) and anxiety really happy. I can finally relax without feeling like I’m walking on carpet filled with dog hair.
I also love how I can map stuff out and pick between three different cleanings kind of like a light, moderate and deep.

Almost 3 years later and it still works great. Big dust canister and kind of a quieter Robvac compared to the previous brands I used throughout the years.

Obviously don’t get rid of your heavy duty vacuum but this is great for those who are looking for a machine to help with the daily clean up like we were. We have a toddler and a dog and it’s amazing at helping keep the crumbs and hair to a minimum. It’s super easy to program and set up with wifi. I love that it does carpet lines. My floors haven’t been this clean in so long, it’s learned our house pretty fast and rarely gets stuck after the first couple cleanings. I would highly recommend to anyone who needs help with the daily pick up.

Sharkie does a pretty good job of vacuuming our house which has two dogs. As long as there’s nothing for it to get stuck on and you clean it after each use depending on how much it picks up. I’m pretty happy with it.

Ive enjoyed this vacuum as a cheap, yet capable alternative to the roombas but the ir visor that is on the bumper cracked recently and they do not sell a replacemnt part and since my perfectly functionap vacuum is out of warranty they told me to buy a new one. Its a cheap part that snaps out and is easily user replacable. Ill see if i can find a 3rd party solution, however if i cannot ill run it without the visor until it really brakes and then buy soemthing that isnt a Shark.

Got this from Santa and he nailed it. We were sweeping hair balls daily because we have a dog and it seemed we could never keep the floor clean for more than a day. Now I have this scheduled to run every weekday at 9:00 a.m. and the carpet and hardwood is always freshly vacuumed. Love it. Only issue is that I cannot get it to sync with Alexa as advertised but that really doesn't bother me too much.

I purchased the Shark IQ to help keep my floors clean! The first time I used it I was blown away! You could see a literal line in the dust....I didn’t even know my floors where that dirty. I love that when something gets stuck in the rollers the robot tells you! So far it has found 5 missing nerf bullets and 3 socks! Great buy!

This robot is ok. First off, looks good and keeps the floor clean, certain areas only. I like how it maps your floor, but I'm not sure how mapping increase the quality of cleanliness. Cons: The vacuum is loud. I wish for a remote to control manully. The vacuum does not pick up dirt in certain areas. Sometimes when I click to dock, it just spins around.

The home-mapping is pretty good if you run it frequently in good lighting for the first few runs.
It honestly isn’t that great at actually vacuuming. It does well on tile/wood but will do almost nothing on carpet, especially high-pile carpet.
There also isn’t a warning when the bin is getting full. It’ll just stop and say something interrupted cleaning.
