I love this time-saving product. I have named my product, Optimus Grime and he does a great job!!! I love the Matrix Clean feature for a more thorough and deeper cleaning. I am also thrilled to see the perfect lines in my carpet when Optimus Grime finishes in my living room. It is amazing to empty the dirt canister to see what was picked up. I am however disappointed that I can't get my cat in a shark costume and ride on top.

The shark matrix is very reliable. I love it so much. I use this thing every single day. It mapped the house out within the first couple runs. I’ve read previous reviews that the shark app is hard to navigate but the app works flawlessly for me. I recommend regularly cleaning the reservoirs. I’ve even accidentally run the shark without noticing dog poop on the ground, and the shark was easy to take apart, clean & put back together. Great purchase.

We replaced another automatic vacuum with this Shark Matrix and have been very happy with it. This one runs in a systematic way so it does not miss spots and waste time running back over places it has already been. It re-empties during a cycle when needed too. It is much more efficient for those reasons; but if you have pets that puke or go to the bathroom on the floor, make sure to clean that up before the Shark finds it. We have a long-haired cat that must be trying to go bald; but the Shark keeps up without a problem since we have it running daily Monday thru Friday using the app scheduler. It was very easy to set up and get it running.

The Shark Ninja Vacuum Robot is super amazing, especially for carpeted floors—it cleans really well and makes life easier. Unfortunately, mine stopped working in just three months. I’ve also had bad luck with Best Buy, as most products I buy from there end up getting damaged within a year.

Bought it about 6 weeks ago and used it at least 20 times so far. Not impressed at all. If I hadn’t missed the return window opportunity, I would definitely return it and get another top of the line Roomba. I have a number is suggestions for improvement: Map needs to update on its own like iRobot does. You should be able to select sequence of cleaning by selecting which room should clean before the next. Corners are never cleaned. Does a good job of staying away from walls, BUT then it doesn’t clean at edges of the room as well. Doesn’t pick up dirt as well as it should. We have a cat where a little bit of cat litter is on the tile. It goes over it and doesn’t vacuum all of it. During mapping, if there was an item in the room, now it always avoids that area. Roomba would explore and update the map as needed. Roomba app had its own challenges but the vacuum was much better.

The mapping of rooms will take about an hour but well worth it once you have your rooms in the robot. I use it for daily cleaning and have a 7 day schedule with several days at different times. Works very well with my long haured dog with no issues such as hair wrapping around brushes.

The Shark Matrix Robot Vacuum is a wonderful choice for anyone looking for a powerful and reliable vacuum that can handle both carpets and hard floors. It has a self-emptying base that holds up to 30 days of debris, so you don't have to worry about emptying the dustbin as often, and it comes with a variety of features that make it easy to use, including full control of the vacuum from the SharkClean phone app. It also maps out your entire home before its first vacuum pass and lets you program all the rooms of your house in. You are also able to set “no-go zones” if you’d rather not have the vacuum tackle those areas. Here are some pros and cons of the Shark Matrix: Pros: Powerful suction Self-emptying base Easy to use Long battery life Easy-to-use smartphone app Ability to map out your home Cons: Not inexpensive It can be a bit loud May not be able to clean under furniture due to height Here are some additional details about the Shark Matrix robot vacuum: The Shark Matrix robot vacuum has a powerful suction system that can easily pick up dirt, dust, and debris from both carpets and hard floors. It did a great job on my carpet and my vinyl floors. Self-emptying base: The Shark Matrix robot vacuum has a self-emptying base, so you don't have to worry about emptying the dustbin as often. Easy to use: The Shark Matrix robot vacuum is very easy to use. It comes with a remote control that you can use to start and stop the vacuum, as well as to select different cleaning modes. You can also use the SharkClean app to control the vacuum from your smartphone. Smartphone app: The Shark Matrix Robot Vacuum requires you to set up and use the smartphone app in order to unlock most of its functions, like Matrix Clean and mapping out your home. Can be noisy: The Shark Matrix robot vacuum can be a bit noisy on the normal and max suction. May not be able to clean under furniture: The Shark Matrix robot vacuum may not be able to clean under furniture. It has a relatively low clearance, so it may not be able to get under furniture with low clearances. Overall, the Shark Matrix Robot Vacuum is a great choice for those wanting a good robot vacuum that is reliable and cleans both carpets and hard flooring equally well. I’ve enjoyed not having to vacuum nearly as often now that I have a robot doing it for me and that’s priceless. The Shark Matrix does a great job with pet hair, dirt, and debris and has an anti-tangle brush head as well, which is a nice added feature. I have had the robot get stuck twice, but after programming in some additional “no-go zones,” that’s pretty much been remedied. I would recommend the Shark Matrix to anyone looking for a great robot vacuum.

A Smart Vacuum That Feels Smart and Works Well

The Shark Matrix is definitely on some of the cutting edge of robot vacuum technologies. It uses its vast array of technologies such as LIDAR, Wi-Fi, and more to map your home for cleaning no matter where in the world you may be located. However, it’s not a perfect machine and there’s a few quirks that may or may not be something you find helpful. Upon opening the box there isn’t much in the way of documentation. There’s a basic setup guide, which just guides you to remove the packaging and plug it in, and then you’re destined to use a QR code to download the app on your phone. It CAN run sans app, but you lose out on nearly every feature that’s a selling point, so plan on using the app. If you’re the type of person that likes instruction booklets and documentation, you’re going to have to go to the Shark website to hunt down the manual. The app, however, is pretty helpful and very user friendly. It guides you through the location of where to place the vacuum and dock, how to start charging it, and getting it ready to pair and then connect to your Wi-Fi. It even has an adorable list of punny names you can name your new robot. Once it’s connected to your Wi-Fi it needs to map your house. This took roughly 20 or so minutes and it’s not cleaning during this time, just roaming your home, and determining where walls and large objects are. After mapping, I can say it did a pretty good job, but understanding what I was looking at was a bit confusing at first. In an ideal world, where you have no furniture, you may end up with a map with nice square rooms and well-defined edges that looks more like the promotional images would have you expect. What you end up with instead, at least in my case, is a rough approximation of your floorplan, but with a lot of rounded corners and rooms that are anything but square. Things like dressers against the wall leave the floorplan looking like your wall is a bit concave. It wasn’t until I started thinking about what physical objects were in my living spaces that I understood how it ended up with the map that it did. Again, this is overall pretty good, but it’s something you must spend a few minutes understanding after it’s done. Once mapping is completed you can zoom in and out and draw out your rooms as well as no-go spaces. If you’ve ever done any drag and drop cropping or selection, you’ll find it intuitive. Where it’s less intuitive are figuring out where the edges of your rooms are compared to what it’s mapped out. The no-go spaces are exactly that – once defined your robot will NEVER venture into that territory. While you can always go back and edit these, they’re not something you can just turn on and off. The whole process will depend on how many rooms you have and how you wish to define all of them, but only took a few minutes. After defining rooms you’re ready to clean! When opening the app, you have three options: Home, Rooms, or Spot. Home does everywhere it’s mapped apart from your no-go zones. Rooms let you select which rooms that you’ve previously designated. Spot lets you pick a roughly 5x5 space for it to run its Matrix Clean feature. Matrix clean is its powerful setting for cleaning up messes, running on high power and repeatedly going over the same area. The Matrix Clean is the most granular option for selecting where your robot will clean. There are no options for manually controlling the robot, directing it where to go. House, room, or 5x5 zone are your choices. However, for most people this should be pretty good. You do have the option to set up an automated schedule for your robot, selecting what days and times it runs. However, it should be noted that this will ONLY vacuum the entire mapped home area (skipping no-go zones, of course). I do wish it had an option to set a schedule for vacuuming certain rooms and this is my biggest complaint. If you want a schedule but don’t want every are cleaned, you will either need to adjust no-go zones or have it re-map your home with certain areas closed off. That does make it a bit harder if you, say, have some areas you want cleaned more often and some areas you’d prefer to be cleaned less often but still on a regular basis. However, I feel like this could potentially be solved in a future app update. Some other features that are neat include Recharge and Resume and Evacuate and Resume. The first allows the robot to return to the dock and recharge before finishing its cleaning cycle. However, unless you’re covering a very large area (900+ sq ft), you probably won’t encounter this. Evacuate and Resume lets the robot return to its dock and empty the dust bin into the container every 30 minutes and then it resumes cleaning. As someone with a dog, this is fantastic and helps keep debris from filling up the robot and potentially causing any issues with suction power. The app also allows you to see the current battery level, find it by telling it to make sounds, and will notify you of any clogs or errors it encounters during its cleaning cycle. You can also adjust its power level, which affects both cleaning power and the noise it makes while cleaning. You’ve even got a history of cleaning where you can see what was cleaned, the approx. size of the area, how long it took and any events that occurred such as pausing or going back to the dock. As far as using it goes, once you start the cleaning cycle it’s hands off unless a problem occurs. I did have an errant hand towel that fell on the floor, but the app notified me of the issue, and it was quickly resolved. The volume of the robot isn’t particularly loud, although it’s far from quiet. It’s a vacuum and those are noisy, after all. It was relatively quiet on its default power setting and quickly became a white noise. However, when it returns to the dock and empties itself into the 30-day canister, you’ve got about twenty to thirty seconds of about the volume of a hair drier going off. While it doesn’t last very long, it is noticeably loud. Emptying the bin is easy – a button press removes the bin from the docking station and another on the bin opens up the entire bottom to be done over a trash can. There are several filters both on the docking station and the robot itself. All look relatively easy to clean and/or replace. Overall, I’m very happy with the Shark Matrix. It’s not exactly a perfect experience and I wish it had a bit more instructional documentation. For example, I do not know if the app will alert me to things like cleaning the filters, emptying the bin, or other maintenance activities. If not, I’ll have to refer to the manual – which is only found on their website. I wish I could edit the map and alter it to make up for shortcomings with the LIDAR. And I wish that I could schedule with only specific rooms in mind. Ultimately those are minor quibbles, and this is definitely a robot vacuum that lives up to its robot name. If you’re looking for a robot vacuum, I don’t think the experience of setting it up and using it could be made any simpler.
