Finally Gets Mopping Right
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark's PowerDetect ThermaCharged Robot Vacuum & mop with Heated Mop Cleaning NeverTouch Pro Base Very able, mostly hands-off cleaning with a built-in feel for busy houses with mixed flooring and pets Combine the power of both good vacuuming and surprisingly good mopping with a base station that does all of the dirty work for you. The robot itself is rather understated with a black color, the base is large and will require a permanent placement against a wall with hard flooring due to the mop-washing feature. The total build is an honest no-frills feeling of solidity and convenience in terms of functionality, easy to remove clean and dirty water tanks and a bagless debris bin in the base that you can empty directly into the trash The star of the package is the NeverTouch Pro Base: here the temporary robot dustbin is emptied into a large 60 day capacity dustbin, the robot's water tank is refilled for up to about 1 month, and then the mop pad is washed and dried after every run using ThermaCharged heated water and air. This means that you aren't constantly rinsing out mop pads covered in grime or spending your lay fingers touching dusty bins which make the day to day upkeep seem minimal as compared with some robot combos that are much older. Vacuum performance: Strong everyday debris, exterminate pet hair and grit. sensors Dirt Detect, Edge Detect, Floor Detect) run at PowerDetect system and boost of suction where the floors are dirtier, the vacuum pressure for cleaning out of the edges and for adapting the power according to the surface of type. On hard floors it does an especially good job, while on carpets it gives thorough cleaning on the surface even if it won't negate a full cleaning of the surface with a full-size upright. For mopping, the robot has a single pad using scrubbing action and such features as Wet Edge Detect and automatic mop lift to let it reach the wall alongside carpets remain dry; the ThermaCharged system in the base then simply washes the mop in water heated to temperatures around 185 and dries it down with hot air, meaning each cleaning should have a clean new mop and not one smearing around yesterday's dirt. Navigation utilizes advanced mapping with the help of 360deg LiDAR sensors and other sensors that assist the robot in moving efficiently, getting into corners, and avoiding common obstacles and climbing modest thresholds. app control- the app allows you to map rooms, set future cleans to occur at a later time, and send the robot to specific places, though some may find the app would be able to provide more control over things such as water-flow and editing a map. In day to day usage, thanks to the auto-emptying, auto-refilling, and auto mop wash/dry, this seems to feel as close as you can get to a "set it and forget it" cleaner, especially if you run it several times per week so your floors don't get overwhelmingly dirty. best suited to the home where you have a lot of hard flooring, pets, and people who just want convenient convenience more than tinkering around, and don't mind the footprint of a large base station in exchange for far less manual cleaning. Pros and cons Pros: - Very low maintenance due to self-emptying and self-refilling and heated mop wash and dry in the base. - Good vacuuming of everyday cleaning, good cleaning of edges, adaptes for the different kinds surfaces. - Effective and hygienic mopping using automatic pad lift to protect carpets, and keep them 100% dry. Cons: - Large base needs space on hard flooring and I believe may be visually bulky in smaller rooms. - Decent app and controls but not the most granular or polished in the segment, especially to the power user Like most robots, it does maintenance cleaning very well, but it will not fully replace occasional cleaning with a full-sized one. Overall, the Shark PowerDetect ThermaCharged Robot Vacuum & Mop with NeverTouch Pro Base is a comprehensive robot that comes off as a well thought out, mid to upper range robot combo that puts less focus on showcasing its abilities and more on the convenience and hygiene aspect of being a robot. If you're looking for one device to vacuum and mop your floors sporadically as much as possible with as little hands on impact as possible, then this one is an attractive option to consider, especially if you have pets and mostly hard floors throughout the property.

Shark PowerDetect Robot ~ Pretty Awesome!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have long been a fan of Shark products, so I was delighted to receive the PowerDetect ThermaCharged Robot Vacuum and Mop featuring Heated Mop Cleaning. It arrived securely packaged and included several components: the deck, robot unit, two holding tanks for both clean and gray water, a pair of rotating side brushes (though only one is used at a time), a bottle of cleaning solution, and a scent cartridge. Since I am allergic to fragrances, I choose not to use the scent cartridges. All parts are very well constructed and feel robust. I was pleased to find it equipped with lidar navigation, which helps it avoid obstacles effectively. After unpacking, I downloaded the SharkClean app and created an account. I named my robot Sharkira and went through all the preference settings. I allowed it to charge fully overnight before sending it off to explore and map my rooms. The robot moves at a deliberate pace to ensure thoroughness, with a front light that activates as needed. Once the mapping is complete, you have the option to designate NO GO zones, which is a valuable feature. Another benefit of this model is its bagless design; simply pull out the canister on the right side to empty it. Certain filter areas require periodic inspection, cleaning, or replacement depending on the amount of dust and debris collected. On the top right side, there is a clean water tank with a handle, while the gray water tank is located on the left. Underneath the vacuum, there is a mop pad that stays on the dock if you opt to vacuum without mopping. When combining vacuuming and mopping during a single run, the vacuum slightly lifts its back wheels to prevent the wet pad from dampening your carpets. During the mapping phase, you can allow it to detect carpeted areas, which will then appear on the map. You can also select to mop exclusively if preferred. The mop has two wetness levels, though I was somewhat disappointed to find there is no adjustment for suction power when vacuuming. The app lets you choose between spot cleaning, room cleaning, or cleaning the entire home. Sharkira communicates with a female voice that provides status updates, which is a pleasant touch. After completing a cleaning session, the app displays “MISSION COMPLETE!” and informs you whether features like DirtDetect or NeverStuck were activated. The battery status is shown in the upper right corner, allowing you to monitor remaining power ~ a helpful feature. In my larger home, the battery only dropped to 60% after a full session, which I found impressive. Additionally, it navigates around cords and other obstacles much better than my previous robot, which often got stuck. The app offers various features such as adjusting the Robot Notification Volume, selecting Language, activating Do Not Disturb mode, enabling Recharge and Resume, setting Cleaning Preferences, using Evacuate and Resume, switching to Eco Flow Mode, controlling Pad Dry Duration, deleting the Robot, removing Maps, and restoring Factory Settings. It also displays your serial and model numbers, with options to rename and register the robot. During use, it smoothly navigated around my home, even climbing small ledges that my previous robot could not manage. The noise level was fairly low, and it effectively cleaned my carpeted rooms. While mopping in the kitchen, I observed that it left a slight amount of debris in the corners near the cabinets, but the heated mopping performed excellently on other surfaces. When back on the dock Shakira cleans the mop pad and then I set the dry timer in the app to two hours, which worked perfectly. I emptied the gray water container, rinsed it, inspected the filters (which remained in good condition), and my robot, Shakira, was ready for the next cleaning cycle. It maintains a stable connection to my WiFi without issues. Although I wish Shark had included a couple extra features (hence the 4 star rating), particularly adjustable suction power, I can confidently recommend this Shark 2900 PowerDetect series robot. It fulfills almost all its promised functions, and I am mostly satisfied with its performance.

Good Reliable Robot
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PowerDetect ThermaCharged Robot RV2920XE is the current flagship robot vacuum from Shark. Intended to be an all-in-one solution that vacuums and mops, with the added convenience of hand-free maintenance, it largely delivers. The base station is smaller than other comparable robots. It has a foot print of 14.5” x 17” and stands 17” tall. To set it up, simply remove it from the box, remove the bits of packaging, attach the approach ramp, install the ‘Odor Neutralizer’, and plug it in with the included and permanently attached 4ft long 3-prong power cord. Inside the base station, there are 2 water storage tanks (one 3L for clean water and a smaller one for waste water), a couple of reusable air filters, and the dust collection system. The dust collection system utilizes a canister rather than bags, which is very nice. The robot itself is also quick to setup. Remove the various bits of packaging from the robot, snap on the side brush, then set it to charge in the base. The robot is 13.25” in diameter and stands 4.5” tall with 5.75” wide of vacuum area and 12” wide of mop area. All on-board controls are touch-sensitive icons on the top-front of the robot. With the SharkClean app installed and using the default settings, vacuum effectiveness on the various flooring types, including hardwood and short pile area rugs, was satisfactory, picking up everything from cookie crumbs to copious amounts of dog hair. Mopping was also effective, with the pad making good contact with the floor, even on uneven flooring types. Additionally, the robot has never had issue transitioning from hard flooring to carpeting. “Missions” (scheduled tasks) ran reliably and overall operation was quiet and did not disturb us despite the robot working at night right outside our first floor master bedroom. Room cleanings or spot cleanings are also quick and easy to initiate. Additionally, maintenance is easy on the Shark robot. The rotating brush is easy to remove and detangle (a plus for this multi-dog house). The air filters on the base are easy to access and clean. And the dust bin on the base, while lacking any kind of sight glass, is easy to remove and empty. That said, the app is, in my opinion, the primary weak point of the robot. - There is no setting to adjust the vacuum power on the robot: It only runs in the PowerDetect/Dirt Detect mode. I would much prefer to run the vacuum on a higher power level on carpeted areas due to our pets. - There are precious few device-level notifications provided; usually only when the robot needs attention. It would be nice to have the option to get notifications for things like when a “mission” is started or completed. - The robot can be a little not-smart when trying to return to the base station, frequently running the long way around areas that weren’t even part of the “mission”. At the end of the day, despite some weakness in the app, the Shark RV2920XE is a solid, reliable robot that I can confidently recommend.

Reliable Cleaning Performance For Pet Owners
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.📦 UNBOXING: Inside the box, you’ll find everything you need to get started: the auto-empty base station, the robot vacuum, an antimicrobial reusable mopping pad, 2 side brushes, an odor neutralizing cartridge for the base station, and a 12oz bottle of cleaning solution. In my box, the clasp for the dirty water reservoir was not assembled to the reservoir. I found the metal rod at the bottom of the box and was able to assemble it manually with the help of a metal tool. I’m not really sure what happened during manufacturing, but it was the only anomaly with the unboxing experience. Aside from that, nothing was damaged, and everything else was packaged well and appears to be properly assembled. 💪 BUILD: On first inspection, everything seemed to be of decent quality plastic. The base station has a visible window for both the clean and dirty water reservoirs. This is the first time I’ve seen this on a robot vacuum’s base station, and it’s a welcome feature, so that I can see when I am getting close to empty on clean water or need to empty the dirty water. The filters are easy to access systemwide, and the dust bin is easy to attach and detach from the base station. The dock also has an automatic system for cleaning the mop pad with 185°F water and drying it with 175°F air without leaving behind foul odors. The reservoirs are easy to put in and take out of the base station, and I appreciate that each handle is attached directly to the reservoir base and not the lid so I don’t have to worry about accidentally opening the lid at any point. The robot vacuum itself employs LIDAR for mapping your home, has wheels that can lift to get over door thresholds, rugs and carpets, an internal dustbin, and its own internal clean water reservoir. The main brush and side brush are easy to access without additional hardware, so they can be easily cleaned. For pet owners, the main brush does a good job at collecting pet hair at each end of the brush so that clogs don’t occur in the middle of the brush. It was very easy to remove pet hair from the main brush, which I appreciate. One ongoing point of confusion is why Shark continues to use glossy plastic on their robot vacuums, as it’s just going to get scratched up over time, but it’s not an important detail. One thing I found to be interesting about this robot vacuum is that it’s able to leave the mop pad docked in the base station during vacuum-only trips, so you can be absolutely sure that you aren’t wetting carpets or rugs. With that said, it does also lift itself up when traversing over carpets and rugs during a mopping session. ⚙️CONTROLS: The robot vacuum does have an onboard control panel so you don’t always have to use the smartphone app. There’s an Error LED, a Mop button, a Dock button that also functions as the power button, a Vacuum button, and a Wi-Fi status LED. Tapping the Dock button will send the robot vacuum back to the dock, and holding the Dock button for 3s will power on the vacuum and 15s will power off the robot vacuum. If you run into connectivity issues, Shark recommends powering off and re-attaching back to the dock. Tapping the Mop button will begin a mopping + vacuuming session for only hard floors. Similarly, the Vacuum button will begin a vacuum-only session for all floors. Pressing each respective button again will pause the cleaning session. Pressing and holding the Mop + Vacuum button for 3s will initiate a whole-home cleaning session with vacuuming carpets first, then vacuuming + mopping on all other floors. 🛠️ SETUP: Assembling everything was trivial thanks to the included guide. Starting your first use with the robot is also quite easy. Via the smartphone app, you’ll need to create an account to discover and register the robot to the app. The app walked me through a guided tutorial, and connected to my 2.4GHz wireless network. I recommend configuring your router to have a separate dedicated 2.4GHz-only network for devices like this, as they tend to have way fewer disruptions. Once it’s added to the app, you can begin the first mapping session of your home, but you should wait for a 100% charge before first use. You’ll need to open all doors and clear the floors of any loose objects that could cause obstructions. The vacuum will first inspect each room’s layout through a first pass, and after returning to the dock, it will ask which rooms have carpets or rugs so it can make a secondary pass in those rooms to map them out. 📱 APP FEATURES: The resultant map from the scan looked accurate to me, and I was able to very easily split, combine and label rooms on my map. Other robot vacuum apps I’ve used have had issues splitting larger open spaces into multiple rooms, but Shark’s app had no issues for my home. I do wish their app had the ability to pan across the map when in “Home” mode, but that’s just a minor annoyance. Another helpful feature is the No-Go Zones which you can create on the map for areas where you don’t want the vacuum to go. For example, maybe there’s a play area that has a lot of small toys on the ground, or even a potty pad for a pet. Unlike some other systems out there, Shark seems to be much more focused on getting the basics right instead of adding a ton of features. When initiating a cleaning session from the app, you can choose whole home cleaning, specific room cleaning (one or more rooms), or spot cleaning. And for each of these, you can choose Vacuum-only, Mop-only or Vacuum + Mop. Additionally, you can create schedules for whole-home cleaning or selected rooms, and choose among vacuum-only, mop-only or vacuum + mopping. I like to perform vacuum-only on Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat at 7AM, and then vacuum + mopping on Sun, Wed at 7AM. Schedules show up on a calendar view that shows the prior two weeks, the current week, and the upcoming week. You won’t be able to see the results for historical missions beyond 3 weeks old, but I’ve never really cared to look at vacuum history beyond maybe a week or two. I do appreciate that you can see the upcoming schedules for the rest of the week in a calendar view and on a list view so you can be sure you’ve configured things correctly. Each mission’s summary will show you a map of where the robot vacuumed, where it mopped, and areas that were not cleaned. Also on the map, you may find logos that indicate where it used some of its special cleaning features. It will also show the time of operation, duration, and square footage cleaned. ✅ CLEANING FEATURES: Under the settings of the robot, you can also find a Cleaning Performance section where you can enable/disable the Save Power level option if you need the increased suction. And under the Eco Flow Mode section, you can enable this mode if you want to refill the water tank less or just want to use less water on more sensitive floors. I ended up disabling both of these for highest performance cleaning. Beyond those two, there are a number of notable cleaning features of the PowerDetect ThermaCharged robot vacuum that automatically activate during a cleaning session. • Dirt Detect lets the vacuum detect hidden dirt and boost power to improve cleaning performance. • Floor Detect lets it distinguish hard floors and carpets so that it optimizes cleaning and avoids carpets during mopping. • Dry Edge Detect uses blasts of air to push debris out of edges and into the vacuum’s cleaning path. I’ve never seen this feature on a robot vacuum before now and thought it was a clever feature. • Wet Edge Detect allows the mop pad to extend out an extra inch to mop along edges more effectively. 🧹 CLEANING PERFORMANCE: The most important part of a robot vacuum is that it needs to do a good job of cleaning, and thus far, Shark’s PowerDetect ThermaCharged robot vacuum gets good remarks from me. While it does not use hot water during its mopping, it does use hot water for cleaning the pads. So its mopping performance may not reach the same level as some of the most advanced robot vacuums on the market, but you’re also paying significantly less for this Shark. I have a long hair domestic cat who leaves clumps of fur everywhere, especially in my front door rug where he loves to groom himself on a daily basis. My previous robot vacuum really struggled to extract the fur from the rug, but the Shark PowerDetect ThermaCharged had no issues making quick work of it. In the couple weeks I have been testing it, the base’s dustbin has collected a lot of cat fur, litter, food crumbs, and other debris. It hasn’t gotten stuck, and it’s avoided obstacles very well. It’s been a very hands-off experience, and I haven’t had to refill the water reservoir yet—although it does seem to use quite a bit less water than some other systems. My carpets are kept clean, and my floors feel clean without a sheen of dirt and debris against my bare feet. And whenever an anomaly does inevitably occur, I know I’ll get a push notification and can review all issues from the notifications section within the app, itself. For my space, the vacuum performs mopping and vacuuming of <550sq ft in less than 90 minutes. It always starts at 100% charge since I only run it once daily, but it never needs to go back to the base for recharging mid-run. But it will go back to empty the dustbin or fill the water reservoir during a run. And thanks to the odor-neutralizing cartridge, it never smells bad. 🧐 CONCLUSION: The Shark PowerDetect ThermaCharged robot vacuum is a good robot vacuum + mopping system that gets the most important things right. I’ve had another Shark robot vacuum (non-mopping) for 2 years now, and it’s been reliable in cleaning performance and obstacle avoidance. I expect nothing different from this one. Meanwhile, robot vacuums from other brands I’ve used have degraded in reliability and have pushed updates that broke critical functions. Shark has done a good job at keeping their robot vacuums operational. For $699.99, I can definitely recommend it.

20/20 Eyesight and Crab-Walks Off of Obstacles
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a busy mom, I am always grateful for gadgets that cut down the time I spend on housework. I have had robot vacuums, but I had been eyeing mopping duos for some time now to further lighten the load. This Shark vac-mop really impressed me with features that my previous robots had struggled with, but the app and map are where this one misses its mark. What’s included? Along with the base, the robot comes with 2 side brushes (1 is a spare), a 12oz Shark Cleaning Multi-Surface floor cleaning liquid, the mopping pads, and an odor neutralizer. Ongoing costs and maintenance? This is the first robot I have owned that does not need vacuum bags, a change I was initially extremely happy about. Yet, while this will drive down ongoing upkeep costs on trash disposal, there are a few other maintenance parts to consider. - Shark Cleaning Multi-Surface Cleaner: 12oz is added into to a full tank and it is averaged by Shark to last 4 mop sessions. I normally mop my entryway, kitchen, living, dining, laundry room and still have ¾ cleaning liquid left in the tank after four mopping sessions. I find it sold in 67oz bottles at common retailers at a reasonable price. - The pre-motor filter is expected to be replaced every 6 moths and cleaned monthly. - The odor neutralizer must also be replaced every 6 months, but I don’t believe this is necessary for function thus is optional. - The post-motor filter must be replaced yearly and cleaned every 6 months. The mopping liquid is a relatively low expense, and even manual mopping requires some form of cleaner, so it just replaces one solution for another when it comes to household expenses. The filters though, those are costs related to not having a vacuum bag. So, the cost essentially remains the same whilst adding the need to routinely clean the filters. I see the vacuum trash bags in a different light now considering the extra upkeep necessary. Features • NeverStuck The features this robot uses to avoid getting stuck are genius. It will basically crawl off its obstacle like a crab. All of my other robots get stuck when they invertedly fold over the edges of my hallway and bathroom rugs and I have to go save them. This one folded over a corner, struggled out of it, and went on its way. It has also gotten stuck on top of a toy, and it did the same. • Vacuuming The robot gets the job done when it comes to vacuuming and does really well with corners and edges. DirtDetect, will note the areas that are extra dirty and the robot will spend extra time there. It will let you know it did this and show where on the app report map once it is done. It is fairly tall though, so it cannot go under furniture with an opening lower that 1.5ft. The dirt collected gets stored in the base’s dust bin, which on average only has to be emptied every 2 months. • Mopping The robot also mops really well. It will vacuum as it mops and will leave the floors looking polished. Also, if it is sent to clean the whole house, it will vacuum carpet areas before mopping so as not to wet the carpets. The only downside is that it does not scrub stuck grime. These are areas that take extra elbow grease when manually mopping though, so I don’t feel justified to slight the robot for it. Once it is done mopping, the robot will clean its pads and spend a default of 2 hours drying them – this can be switched to 1.5 or 2.5 hours on the app settings. • Eyesight The eyesight on this robot is phenomenal! The best I witnessed thus far. It easily notices an obstacle and makes its best attempt at cleaning around it and hugging it as close as possible. Sometimes people pass by and it notes their feet but once they leave it goes on to clean the area that they were standing in, so the fact that it updates its observation also amazes me. Furthermore, it has a headlight for dimly lit areas, which is another first for me. Normally, I make sure there is light in every room a robot will be cleaning in, but this guy light its own way. I still haven’t gotten used to this and light up the areas out of habit. • Communication I really like how this robot communicates. It tells me exactly what it is doing at every step and anytime it changes from one task to the next. It is also loud enough for me to hear without being obnoxiously loud that it scares my bird. The volume is defaulted at the loudest level and can be lowered through the app. • Mapping The mapping is a mixed bag for me. It made a map on the first run, which not all robots do, but it missed some areas. I thought it would just find and add new areas when it went about cleaning, but nope. It finds them, shows them on the report, but never adds them the already set map. It is pretty frustrating because a new run will erase the old map, erasing all the divisions I added and room labels, and there is no guarantee that it won’t miss spots again but I’m going to have to redo it until it gets it all. Shark App The Shark app could use improvements in my opinion. It is not intuitive, I always get confused on how to get out of the map section, and I can only see the last cleaning report it made instead of a history of all of them. I really hope Shark can take the time to make upgrades on it. Durability/Battery Life The battery life is exceptional and the best I have witnessed in a robot thus far. It completes a full run around the entire house and still has a lot of juice let. I sometimes send it out again to mop the non-carpeted areas and it is never at risk of dying. Conclusion This robot had a lot of firsts for me. The NeverStuck technology works phenomenally, it has 20/20 eyesight, has a headlight, and a long battery life making it all around self-sufficient when out on its cleaning missions. The detracting qualities are minimal and mostly relating to the shark app, which includes the map. I really hope Shark can improve on this soon. It also requires a bit more maintenance than a bag-disposing robot, but this is a small trade off. Overall, I was blown away by so many of its capabilities and am happy my floors are staying mopped more frequently than I have time for.

Vacuum and mop mixed floors with ease
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From my experience with the Shark PowerDetect ThermaCharge Robot Vacuum&Mop, I think it is the perfect tool to help in keeping those heavy traffic areas clean without much effort. I choose vacuum or mop, and this device will go over the areas that are free of obstacles with ease, detecting changes in the floor type, “climbing” onto mats or rugs, avoiding falling into lower areas, vacuuming or moping along the way. It has made our life easier. For better cleaning results, it is expected to do some decluttering of the areas, so that the Robot can do its work to the best of its abilities in a wider area. Due to inherent limitations of devices like this, there are limitations in what areas it can reach, so that at some point there is need for some manual cleaning, nothing is perfect. Also, I’ve found at least one nuance with the device-app combination (perhaps it’s my fault?) in which the device will try to mop beyond the room I had selected to mop (I’ll try to determine what is going on here at a later time). Despite all this, I’d still give the Shark PowerDetect ThermaCharge Robot Vacuum&Mop a solid 5-star rating. >> Setup Follow the instructions on the quick start guide that comes with the package, and take a look at the YouTube video, that’s all I needed. To control some of the more advanced features of this device, you’d need the App, which requires creating an Account. If you’d are wary of creating accounts all over the place, you could survive without the App like I did for a couple of days. However, I’d just recommend using the App to control and get information about this device. Connecting the Bluetooth and WiFi: detecting the device from the Shark App is straightforward following the directions on the App, but you might get confused by the Shark App’s on what to do to connect to the Wi-Fi (it looks like the App needs to be updated for this model). Fortunately, there is a label on the Robot itself that tells you what to do to allow connecting to Wi-Fi: press the three front buttons on the Robot at once for three seconds. >> Preparing the areas Unless you want to concentrate on heavily trafficked areas that are free of obstacles and such, you’d need to do some prepping before letting this robot vacuum or mop. The way this robot is and how it operates, it forces you to do a little clean up first, putting the toys, objects, and cables away, so that the robot can do its thing. Unlike manual vacuums where you can lift one thing here and there, do more passes on the corners or hard to reach areas, this robot doesn’t have that luxury. Our house is a mixture of different types of floor surfaces, low-pile carpets on the bottom floor, high-pile carpets on the second floor, vinyl floors for the bathrooms, porcelain floor on the entrance. On top of all that we have area rugs for the bottom floor (medium-pile ones), different mats (fabric and rubber) everywhere. Then we have different size tables, chairs, sofas, objects on the floor, cables running, etc. The robot has been able to sort out most of these obstacles with no difficulty. As mentioned, going over the heavy trafficked areas, this does its job wonderfully, but for a more through cleaning, we need to spend some time organizing and clearing the area floors, before releasing this little beast. >> Vacuum Provided the carpets, rugs and mats are low-pile (perhaps medium-pile), this device does great vacuuming mixed floors. It can transition between tile or ceramic to carpet with ease, and I was nicely surprised at how this guy was able to move from a low-pile carpet into a rug that had a higher-pile, it did a fantastic job. I wouldn’t recommend this for cleaning high-pile carpets, though, the device looks like a robot horse, bouncing up and down. The only couple of things I’ve had difficulty with were loose cables on the ground and elevated mats, so it’s better not to place them in its way. An example about cables, I had an indoor camera sitting on a small side table, which had its power cable running under the table, the robot grabbed the cable and knocked the camera, so be careful with your cleaning area for delicate items. >> Mop When moping, this little beast can detect carpets and mats or rugs and avoid them. It is not perfect, as it would miss a few very small areas, nothing is perfect, but I think this is as perfect as it gets. The same as with vacuuming, mopping heavy trafficked areas is very easy, you don’t need to touch the machine, just use the App and do it. It’ll do its job and even announce it when it is done. Now, I’d recommend though, after using this, that clearing the whole area, especially removing any mats, to mop seems better. The fewer corners or obstacles this goes around I think it is better. “Mopping gone rogue”: The only weird thing that’s been happening to me is that when I select to mop a specific room, it still tries to go to the other room that has also hard floor in it. I am not sure what is going on, if I cannot figure out, I’d need to call helpdesk. This is a little nuance, but it can be prevented by blocking the pass to the other area (although I shouldn’t need to do that as the expectation is that the robot operates in that single room). >> Mapping your floors I initially used the device without the Shark App and it seems the Shark Vacuum&Mop Robot was able to map the rooms on-the go, so I initially decided not to use the App and so avoid creating an account on the Shark site. Under these conditions, for cleaning a room or area, I’d pick up the robot and let it loose in the area I wanted after pressing vacuum. It would just do a fantastic job. I needed more, so I configured the App and chose to map the whole downstairs area of the house. Downstairs, our house has a lower area where the living room is at, so in the first mapping, that area was avoided by the robot, as it would fall. It would reach the edge and detect there was a drop and stop, nicely surprised by the technology. To finish mapping downstairs, I picked up the robot and placed it in the lower living room area, it completed its job as expected.

Best Robot Mop-Vac I've Used So Far!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark – PowerDetect ThermaCharged Robot Vacuum & Mop with Heated Mop Cleaning NeverTouch Pro Base – Black is definitely an upgrade from my last Shark robot mop/vacuum. I must admit that I was skeptical about the NeverTouch mop pad. My last shark self-empty and refill vac came with 2 mop pads identical to this one. I found it convenient. I would use it for 2 uses on 2 different days and then remove and wash it by hand and apply the clean one in its place. I felt ripped off with this one only having one mop pad... That was until I heard the machine say it was “washing its pad.” It was so cool! When I loaded the base with clean water, I didn’t even notice the dirty water compartment next to it. That water gets pretty filthy. I have a picture so you can see the work this machine puts in. The unit also dries the pad after it washes it. I have used it several times over several different days and today I flipped it over and checked the pad. It looked clean and did not have an odor. Yes, I smelled it to make sure it didn’t stink like a dirty sponge. It was odorless. Yay! **Side note- I have a nose like a bloodhound. The next thing I felt I was missing was extra vacuum dust collection bags. I scratched my head, went to the unit, found the dust bin, removed it and gasped. They finally gave me a BAGLESS robot mop/vac with self-empty!! I’ve been saying in my previous reviews, that I would give 5 stars if they had all those features and it finally does. No one wants to pay top dollar and have to keep purchasing things afterwards. Another nice thing about shark robots in general, is that the app set up is straightforward. Scan the QR code and it walks you through the steps with an instruction video. The mapping time is about 30 minutes for my home. I’ve had other robots take hours! Previously, the shark map would update itself if it found a new area. I didn’t really see that happen with this robot though. I have a laundry room that didn’t get mapped because I closed the door, since robots always fall in on the one-inch drop and can’t get out. I then added a “no-go zone” where the laundry room would be, but the robot still went in and got stuck on a whole house run (after everything was set up). When it happened, of course, I was not home, so the robot sat there for a few hours waiting. I was annoyed because that was the whole point of adding the “no-go zone”. When I checked the map, that zone was gone. Ugg. I put it back on the map and made it just a little more overlapped onto the room next to the laundry room. I noticed though, that the map did not update and add in the new laundry room territory that it had found. I’m not sure why. After adding the no-go zone a second time, the robot was able to avoid the laundry room with the door wide open. Also, on the whole house run, I set it to mop everywhere that didn’t have carpet and vacuum the rooms with carpet. The robot is really cool since it can tilt its backside up and lift the mop pad off the carpet when it travels over carpet from room to room. The vacuum also vacuums the carpets first before wetting its mop pad. That was nice, however, my bathroom didn't get mopped. The tiled bathroom is between 2 carpeted rooms and only got vacuumed instead. I can tell this by the color coding on the completed map history. I’m not sure why it did this. I then had to send it back to only mop the bathroom. It did, but when it crossed over the carpet in the bedroom, it showed a blue streak on the map like it mopped the carpet too (for that few feet it crossed over). As I am typing this review, I decided to repeat the mopping of the bathroom and watch it mopping. It did in fact, lift the mop pad off the carpet as it passed over. The map history does not accurately reflect when it skipped over carpet. Do not worry, the color coding on the map history won’t be perfect for those small areas, but it did work like it is supposed to. Another thing I will mention about the map is, if you select “re-explore map,” it will delete your old map. The mapping process is not long, but labeling your rooms and cutting and merging them can be time-consuming. I forgot to explore one room when it asked me to map carpet. I didn’t remember to add my closet, so I had to do the whole thing over. In the old shark app, you used to be able to add the carpeted areas yourself. I miss that feature. And yes, before deleting my old map, I did look for a way to ask the robot to explore for carpet, but it was not an option. Additional features: there is an air freshener pod and cleaning solution that are included in the box. I like the air freshener a lot since it keeps the dust bin from smelling when it sucks up the new dirt haul after each run. Shark also includes a new side brush to replace the old one when it gets worn out. I find it takes a long while for it to wear out. There is also a heated mopping automatic feature. It does not leave steam as it goes, but it does a thorough job mopping and it seems like the floors do look cleaner with that mopping feature. I checked spots before and after, where the floor had smudges, and afterwards it was completely gone. In summary, I love this new robot mop/vac. It has really awesome features like the heated water mopping, the bagless dust bin, the no change mop pad that washes and dries itself, the air freshener and bonus cleaning solution for mopping, all make for one amazing machine. There are a couple things I’d change about the app, but I am super happy with the new upgrades that are making my cleaning duties easier to manage.

Excellent dual Vacuum and Mop rob vacuum.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been eyeing a wet mop vacuum for some time now and the chance to review this was just a great opportunity. Setup was pretty easy... Unpack.out of box. Put ramp on the base. Plug in put vacuum bot in dock let it charge and then in to the next step which is program setup. I also poured in the required liquid mop solution and installed the brush. Base is a bit big so you need to account for the needed clearance and all. Program setup was super easy.. since I already had an account and 2 other vacuums all I had to do was add another vacuum. If I did not have an account I would have to sign up for one and follow the step by step verification process etc. After initial setup I let it go into roam/explore mode. After that I set up a schedule on when I wanted this vacuum to vacuum. So I have to really large dogs that she's like crazy. 1 of them my kids say she sheds like it snows. All over the freaking place. My other dog is black lab mix and it sheds black short fit all over the freaking place too. I literally have 2 robo vacuums for the main part of the house because of how much for these two generate. It is unbelievable. They she so much for that it gets my other self emptying vacuum clogged from the emptying process. So I was excited to see if this mop vacuum would have the same issue or not. Operation was pretty flawless. It dodged things that it was not supposed to be near. The areas that needed wet moping like the family room kitchen and the bathroom. This vacuum has a camera so it has more dodging capabilities. I had it take on the hardest room of all on my first test run which was the do room. I had it vacuum first then mop. It did really well considering the that I have not vacuumed he room in about 1 week. It did not get jammed with dog for with the dry vacuum. Sometimes these robo vacuums itself gets jammed with dog fur during the emptying stage. And I have to manually go in to unjam it in the past. This go around I did not experience this issue. Wet mop was pretty good. It mopped the dog room and cleaned the pad and I emptied the grey water bin pretty easily. The nice touch that Shark added was the odor tab that when it evacuates the robot it reduces odor. This is not in my other shark vacuum and I wish it was. I have to clean my other shark vacuum foam pad more often and also use some baking soda to help control odor. This vacuum also has real time locater. Meaning it shows you where the vacuum is while in progress. Overall great vacuum.. great mop and vacuum dual feature. I really am thankful for vacuum. Solid buy and great features.

A self maintained home cleaning personal assistant
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Meet Sharkira. That’s my new Ninja Robot Vacs name. Courtesy of the Shark apps recommendation that my family all agreed was a great name. ___________________ It really should be called Sharknado because this bad boy sucks everything up and tosses it in its designated compartments of its base when finished and dispensing itself for the self clean. I really love how the home station is set up here and how everything is individually labeled with what each part is for. Shark provides timelines for when it’s time change filters, empty bins, dump water. It self dries itself, self cleans itself, self empties itself from the dirt it picks up and mops up. It’s really fantastic how it handles its own maintenance. ___________________ It’s packed with a ton of smart features. Happy to finally have a robot vac that advertises itself as never getting stuck and being able to both vacuum and mop hard floors and carpets, as well as lift itself over rugs or obstacles on hard floors. Seeing it in real time adjust its wheel base to get over a floor mat is pretty cool to see operate. ___________________ Setting up in the app was a piece of cake. Paired it with my smart home device as well is a nice convenience too. The app allows you to customize the mapping of your home after the initial scan and identify your rooms. ___________________ I have two kids. Three dogs, two cats. As you can imagine, our floors can get quite dirty. It’s winter too. With snow, muddy grass/dirt, the dog foot prints are all over. The ice melt tracks get residue on the floors as well. The mop on this SharkNinja gets the job done. If I go by its nickname, Sharkira, instead of “These Hips Don’t Lie” , “This Vac Don’t Lie!” ___________________ Best robot vacuum mop combo I’ve owned so far and I look forward to how much easier it’ll make mine and my wife’s life.

Its good but...
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace a roomba vac/mop. This does a far better job cleaning and the app is much better, but due to us having a sunken living room it is constantly trying to duke of hazard itself down a 1 foot drop. Something the roomba never did. Other than that it is so much better.

easy to clean, super quiet, super effective
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark PowerDetect ThermaCharged Vacuum and Mop is my top addition of 2025, according to my wife. Bottom line up front, the main selling point and differentiator that sets this combo vacuum/mop from competitors is the 185°F thermal mop cleaning and 175°F drying. It eliminated the single biggest hygiene concern with combo robots: the stench of a perpetually damp, filthy cleaning pad. Aside from the heated dry function, however, the unit itself is beautifully designed from an engineer's perspective. The bins have single piece handles that slide out, but don't telescope into themselves - this is genius because there's no chance of the handle pieces getting stuck/bent, but still help reduce footprint. On top of that, the clean water has a blue handle (visual cue!) while the dirty bin has a black handle. The vacuum container is bagless, so you just empty the bin out. The vacuuming performance itself is excellent, especially on mixed surfaces. The PowerDetect technology is noticeable, as the unit seems to sense areas with more concentrated debris and automatically ramps up the suction. I watched (and heard) the vacuum gear up over an area where my kids spilled some crumbs, and the vacuum literally made an extra 2 passes over the area in quick succession. Hair management is advertised, but we don't have any indoor pets so I can't comment. Mopping integration is seamless. The Shark vacuums first, then mops, and the "NeverStuck" technology works as advertised. The robot actually lifts the mop high enough to clear thresholds and, more importantly, keeps the damp pad off carpets and rugs. If your goal is truly set-it-and-forget-it maintenance, the Shark PowerDetect ThermaCharged is amazing for the job

Its a nice helper
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first got the Shark cleaner it sas easy to set up and get started. It maps out the entire house in minutes and generates a accurate map of the house. The Shark does a nice job vacuuming the house then it is capable of mopping the house. It does a decent job mopping but has trouble with overlapping routes.

Disappointed with the mop feature
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 4th robot vacuum I’ve owned, the second with a mopping function and the second from Shark. I inadvertently ended up with a good test opportunity of the mop function thanks to a bad dog that got into the trash overnight and left me with dried yogurt to clean up on the floor. I ran the vacuum + mop cycle overnight, expecting it to fully clean the yogurt mess that was left on the floor. It was actually in 3 parts of the kitchen on a wood laminate flooring. After the overnight mop, the before and after pictures look like the mop cycle didn’t run at all. The next morning I decided to try the spot clean cycle. This in itself is poorly designed as you can’t adjust the specific area for a spot clean or select multiple spots; instead it offers a single square to clean. I selected the first area that needed a spot clean, and was happy to report it fully cleaned the area. After the spot clean is done, it has to return to the station, clean the mop pad and dry it, before it’s ready to be used again. Later that day, I ran the spot clean on the second yogurt spill. It cleaned part of it, but left a streak of it uncleaned. Again, I waited for it to finish cleaning the mop and drying it before sending it to the 3rd spot. This 3rd spot is near a rubber mat, so I wasn’t sure how it would handle it. It maps the carpet and mats in your house but didn’t create a very accurate mapping of it and there’s no way to manually adjust it’s drawing of the mat, just to have it re-map the whole area. Regardless, the spot clean did almost nothing to this 3rd spot and finished very quickly. It has a method to detect dirty carpet spots but doesn’t seem to have any idea if a mop job is completed successfully. To resolve the remaining yogurt spots, I toon a baby wipe and made one single pass over each of the remaining dried yogurt spots, and it cleaned up easily. This wasn’t hard stuck on grime, and it failed to clean it well. Because the mop feature is such an integral part of this machine, and it cleaned actual stains very inconsistently, I overall can’t recommend this product. The other minor annoyance is it will audibly tell you what it’s working on like “drying the mop pad”, but if you look in the app, it doesn’t actually show you what it’s doing. There are several times where it said something I couldn’t understand, so I opened the app hoping to see what it was doing and discovered it didn’t clearly say what was happening. It did a pretty good job of mapping my whole downstairs and handled a thick fluffy carpet without getting stuck, along with running into my dog and changing directions successfully, but overall, given the quality I’d expect from this, I’m disappointed. It’s “fine” and does a “pretty good job” of keeping things clean, but it doesn’t meet my overall expectations.

Not worried about robot apocalypse after this!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third attempt at having a robot vacuum from three different makers over the last 5 years or so and it is my third, and FINAL, robot. I am no longer worried about a Terminator type robot apocalypse because these robots have been absolutely stupid. The only way these things are going to kill anyone is from tripping them while at the top of the stairs or through an aneurysm from dealing with them. I had really high hopes for this robot because the team at Shark/Ninja has yet to let me down, but there is a first time for everything. Now, I'm giving it two stars, because I think the robot/basestation is well built and the app works well. I would be inclined to give it a third star if it in any way had made me think it might work well for a different type of home. I have a 3000 sq/ft, two story home with mostly tile, engineered wood, and a few rugs. Of course this was only going to be able to work on one floor but it worked on neither. Downstairs is tile and some thicker rugs, perhaps an inch tall of dense fibers. Upstairs is the engineered wood, tile in the bathrooms, and thin, woven rugs. Downstairs, with the initial set-up it was an all day extravaganza of fail. It took three times to get the machine to do an accurate mapping expedition, all the while bumping itself into everything and scuffing my floorboards (I mean seriously, you shouldn't do DAMAGE to a home you are supposed to clean). When it finally had an accurate map (with rug detection), I sent it off to vacuum. About 20 minutes later, the machine makes its way back to the base station and I go check to see how it did. I immediately notice a trail of fuzzy debris that leads all the way to a PILE of vacuum debris. It seems to have 'thrown up' everything that it had vacuumed up! Wow, super useful. Shouldn't it have gone back to empty itself at the base station before it over-stuffed itself? So I can't have this thing make MORE work for me (which I accomplished with my nice Shark stick vacuum), so I thought let's try it upstairs. Upstairs was no better. Despite having thin woven carpets, tall furniture with clearance, and relatively wide open corridors and rooms it managed to get itself stuck not once, not twice, but all three times I sent it off to clean after mapping the upstairs (which thankfully only took one pass this time). For something I should be able to 'fire and forget', I can't seem to do that with this thing. A toddler in a house full of glass shards would get in less trouble than this robot. So bottom line is: No, I do not like this robot; I don't like ANY of these robots, and I wouldn't recommend getting any of them. Unless you are a masochist, then carry on.

Shark Robot Vacuum has it's quirks
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the Shark robot vacuum gets the job done, but it does have it's quirks. It cleans quite well on hardwood floors and area carpets. I have noticed I've had to clean the dust sensors a few times or it won't use that function. It's located inside the cleaning port, it took me a few minutes to find it. It also has trouble clearing a bigger threshold in my house. I honestly am not faulting the unit, it goes over the other thresholds with no issues, it's just my bathroom one it has trouble with. The mopping is impressive, and I haven't had to do any maintenance to the station since I bought it, (Nov 2025). Hope this helps make your decision

I haven't had any issues with the Shark so far. It's nice not having to change the dustpan out for the mop head like the older Shark machines. I'm glad I bought this. I would do it again. Very nice sale right now.
