  After using the Shark VacMop for a month, I am beyond impressed with how well the unit operates. Installing the app and running the mapping program was pretty seamless. I advise picking up and items that may get snagged. The Shark does a good job of getting to the hard to reach areas, and has no trouble adapting to tables or chairs that have been moved. Scheduling is a breeze and the Shark does a good job of emptying the dust binand picking up where it left off on the "cleaning mission." The biggest plus is that the Shark washes and dries the mop pads with hot water using the Thermacharged feature. Our space didn't allow for the required clearance for the base, but that hasn't diminished the Shark's ability to return and depart from the base.

  Best Robot Mop-Vac I've Used So Far!

  The Shark – PowerDetect ThermaCharged Robot Vacuum & Mop with Heated Mop Cleaning NeverTouch Pro Base – Black is definitely an upgrade from my last Shark robot mop/vacuum. I must admit that I was skeptical about the NeverTouch mop pad. My last shark self-empty and refill vac came with 2 mop pads identical to this one. I found it convenient. I would use it for 2 uses on 2 different days and then remove and wash it by hand and apply the clean one in its place. I felt ripped off with this one only having one mop pad... That was until I heard the machine say it was “washing its pad.” It was so cool! When I loaded the base with clean water, I didn’t even notice the dirty water compartment next to it. That water gets pretty filthy. I have a picture so you can see the work this machine puts in. The unit also dries the pad after it washes it. I have used it several times over several different days and today I flipped it over and checked the pad. It looked clean and did not have an odor. Yes, I smelled it to make sure it didn’t stink like a dirty sponge. It was odorless. Yay! **Side note- I have a nose like a bloodhound. The next thing I felt I was missing was extra vacuum dust collection bags. I scratched my head, went to the unit, found the dust bin, removed it and gasped. They finally gave me a BAGLESS robot mop/vac with self-empty!! I’ve been saying in my previous reviews, that I would give 5 stars if they had all those features and it finally does. No one wants to pay top dollar and have to keep purchasing things afterwards. Another nice thing about shark robots in general, is that the app set up is straightforward. Scan the QR code and it walks you through the steps with an instruction video. The mapping time is about 30 minutes for my home. I’ve had other robots take hours! Previously, the shark map would update itself if it found a new area. I didn’t really see that happen with this robot though. I have a laundry room that didn’t get mapped because I closed the door, since robots always fall in on the one-inch drop and can’t get out. I then added a “no-go zone” where the laundry room would be, but the robot still went in and got stuck on a whole house run (after everything was set up). When it happened, of course, I was not home, so the robot sat there for a few hours waiting. I was annoyed because that was the whole point of adding the “no-go zone”. When I checked the map, that zone was gone. Ugg. I put it back on the map and made it just a little more overlapped onto the room next to the laundry room. I noticed though, that the map did not update and add in the new laundry room territory that it had found. I’m not sure why. After adding the no-go zone a second time, the robot was able to avoid the laundry room with the door wide open. Also, on the whole house run, I set it to mop everywhere that didn’t have carpet and vacuum the rooms with carpet. The robot is really cool since it can tilt its backside up and lift the mop pad off the carpet when it travels over carpet from room to room. The vacuum also vacuums the carpets first before wetting its mop pad. That was nice, however, my bathroom didn't get mopped. The tiled bathroom is between 2 carpeted rooms and only got vacuumed instead. I can tell this by the color coding on the completed map history. I’m not sure why it did this. I then had to send it back to only mop the bathroom. It did, but when it crossed over the carpet in the bedroom, it showed a blue streak on the map like it mopped the carpet too (for that few feet it crossed over). As I am typing this review, I decided to repeat the mopping of the bathroom and watch it mopping. It did in fact, lift the mop pad off the carpet as it passed over. The map history does not accurately reflect when it skipped over carpet. Do not worry, the color coding on the map history won’t be perfect for those small areas, but it did work like it is supposed to. Another thing I will mention about the map is, if you select “re-explore map,” it will delete your old map. The mapping process is not long, but labeling your rooms and cutting and merging them can be time-consuming. I forgot to explore one room when it asked me to map carpet. I didn’t remember to add my closet, so I had to do the whole thing over. In the old shark app, you used to be able to add the carpeted areas yourself. I miss that feature. And yes, before deleting my old map, I did look for a way to ask the robot to explore for carpet, but it was not an option. Additional features: there is an air freshener pod and cleaning solution that are included in the box. I like the air freshener a lot since it keeps the dust bin from smelling when it sucks up the new dirt haul after each run. Shark also includes a new side brush to replace the old one when it gets worn out. I find it takes a long while for it to wear out. There is also a heated mopping automatic feature. It does not leave steam as it goes, but it does a thorough job mopping and it seems like the floors do look cleaner with that mopping feature. I checked spots before and after, where the floor had smudges, and afterwards it was completely gone. In summary, I love this new robot mop/vac. It has really awesome features like the heated water mopping, the bagless dust bin, the no change mop pad that washes and dries itself, the air freshener and bonus cleaning solution for mopping, all make for one amazing machine. There are a couple things I’d change about the app, but I am super happy with the new upgrades that are making my cleaning duties easier to manage.

  Best investment ever for the house! Vacuums well and Mops excellent! Definitely brings down the chores list around the house! Phone app works well and easy to navigate, Price is spot on for this robot
