Shark - PowerDetect UV Reveal 2-In-1 Vac & Mop - Black

I absolutely love it. Set up was easy. App easy to use. Mapped my house completely correct. Vacuum and mopping job is wonderful. Nothing like coming home to a clean home!!

Does a wonderful job mopping and vacuuming. Have had several before this one and all did not work well at all. I went on a 2 week trip and left the vac to do it's job and it work! I agree it should, but non of its predecessors could even work for 4 days without getting stuck. The water tank lasted for the whole 2 weeks. It only mops 2 times a week but still. The only thing that I do not like about it is the app. They need to do a much better job with it. One example is you have no way to tell the vacuum to empty its dust bin. Some thing as simple as that is not a function. There are a couple of other thing but all minor. I would buy it again.

I have owned over 9 robot vacuums in the last 8 years, and I currently own 4. I can say with confidence that the Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal 2-in-1 is not the best I've owned, but it is above average when you look at its core functions. When I get a new robot vacuum, these are the key areas I consider: Noise Navigation & Obstacle Avoidance Vacuum Effectiveness Mopping Effectiveness App Features & Ease of Use Maintenance Bonus Features Each item above is ranked from most important to least important. I would highly recommend reviewing these 7 characteristics whether you are looking to purchase your first robot or your 5th. Here's a breakdown of where I believe the Shark PowerDetect stands: 1) Noise - AVERAGE. The Shark is completely average in this category, both for the vacuum itself and the dock. It's far from the loudest I've owned, but this is something to keep in mind if you schedule tasks at night. It won't wake your house, but you will know it's there. 2) Navigation & Obstacle Avoidance - ABOVE AVERAGE. The obstacle avoidance on the Shark is impressive. It navigates quickly and with tons of confidence. I can send this robot out without picking up every single item in my house and feel confident it will finish with little to no issues. That said, I have noticed it occasionally lose connection or struggle with complex maneuvers, sometimes getting stuck in a loop of moving in random circles. It eventually recovers, but still something I found concerning at times. 3) Vacuum Effectiveness - AVERAGE. The Shark PowerDetect handles carpets and hardwood floors with ease. After running it for around a week with 3 kids in the house, it cleaned anything and everything I would have used a regular stick vacuum for. Keep your expectations in check though. Robot vacuums are still far from the power needed to deep clean a carpet, but they do an incredible job as a supplemental solution between breaking out your corded or cordless vacuum. 4) Mopping Effectiveness - ABOVE AVERAGE. This is genuinely the best mopping performance I've seen from a robot vacuum. On hard floors, it picks up everyday grime, light spills, and stuck on messes with no issue, and the HyperSonic scrubbing makes a real difference on dried spots that other robots just smear around. The floors come out actually clean. My one complaint is that it uses too much water at times, leaving sections wetter than I'd prefer and adding to the dry time. It's a small price to pay for the result, but worth knowing if you have pets or kids running around immediately after a cycle. 5) App Features & Ease of Use - ABOVE AVERAGE. The SharkClean app is easy to navigate and gives you solid control without burying features in submenus. Scheduling, room specific cleaning, no go zones, and adjusting suction or mop intensity are all where you'd expect. It also integrates with both Alexa and Google Home. My only gripe is that the app occasionally lags when pulling up the live map after a cleaning session, and once or twice I had to force close it to reconnect. Nothing dealbreaking, but worth mentioning. 6) Maintenance - ABOVE AVERAGE. This is where the Shark really earns its keep. The NeverTouch Pro base automatically empties the bin, refills the water tank, and washes the mop pad with hot water before drying it with heated air. The self cleaning mop pad is a feature I love and the UV Detects' design works incredibly well. That said, the dock itself is large and takes up a noticeable footprint, so plan your placement accordingly. 7) Bonus Features - ABOVE AVERAGE. I'll be honest. When I first read about UV Stain Detect, I rolled my eyes. It sounded like the kind of marketing gimmick that gets slapped on a spec sheet to justify a higher price tag. I was wrong. It actually works. The robot uses UV light to identify invisible messes like dried spills, pet residue, etc, then automatically triggers an extra mopping pass over those spots. This is the rare "bonus" feature that delivers on what it promises. Remember when I said I had 3 other robot vacuums? The UV detect found stains they had missed and cleaned them... Final Verdict: The Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal 2-in-1 isn't the absolute top of the robot vacuum food chain, but it's a well rounded machine with three genuinely standout features (the carpet and threshold lifting, the best in class mopping, and the UV stain detection) that set it apart from the pack. If you're a first time buyer or upgrading from an older model, you'll likely be very happy with it. If you're coming from a current flagship from a competitor, the improvements may feel more incremental than revolutionary, but the lift technology, mopping performance, and UV detection are worth a hard look regardless.

This has been the best purchase for our new home. It empties its self and refills itself and did not take long to map the house.

This is one of the best robot vacuums I have ever used. It includes ever feature you could possibly want in an easy to use package! I have another shark robot vacuum and it does a really good job of vacuuming/dusting. I also have a irobot vacuum that can do both mopping and vacuuming but requires you to change out dust bins for mopping or vacuuming. The irobot also doesn't know how to skip over rugs if the mop part is attached so it's all or nothing. This shark vacuum is advanced that it knows where a rug is at and not to try and mop it. Setup was honestly a breeze. I plugged in the charger base and placed the vacuum on the charging pad. Once charged it required that I create a map of my home. I was not able to use the prior map my other shark vacuum made, so a new one was required. I thought it would take an hour or more to do the map, but it took like 15 minutes. I think this is in part due to the camera and other sensors on the front of the machine. Once the map was created I was able to create different rooms on the map and also send the machine out again to find places that had carpet or rugs. With the map created I let the machine do a vacuuming. It picked up a good number of debris and only took about an hour to fully vacuum. While working the machine is pretty quiet and not an issue to have running while watching TV, talking, or working. This machine also doesn't run around like a toddler running into everything and anything. The sensors on the front are used to stop/slow down the machine before it makes contact with an item. This helped tremendously on noise the machine makes. My prior shark would sometimes startle me with how much it would smack into furniture, but this one is so good at not doing that. After the machine finishes vacuuming it will then go out and do mopping. While mopping it will uses its sensors to find dirt and debris and scrub them clean. I thought it was just a gimmick, but I watched it go over stains a few times to make sure they are fully clean. Once the machine is done mopping it will show in the app on the map the spots it detected. It's usually the same spots, front door area, dog water/food area, etc. The charging base has everything built in for clean and dirty water, and a debris bin. I have checked it a few times and I believe I could probably let this machine do its job three times a week for a month before having to intervene with emptying dirty water or debris bin. On the debris bin there is an air freshener that helps cover up any smells the machine might have. While I do like this option I'm not sure I will replace the air freshener once it dies out. The vacuum is out of sight out of mind and I'm not super worried about any smells you smell if your super close to it, plus it doesn't even smell. My old shark did get stuck in a few places or required attention, whereas this one doesn't get stuck and actually avoids obstacles to the point I forgot it even is working. Overall, I love this vacuum and my house smells and feels cleaner. My wood floors are always nice and clean without any stains or smudges. I feel like I will only need to bust out a mop when they are super dirty which is hardly ever!
