I was excited to try the Shark StainForce because I needed something strong enough for spills and stains in the car and around the house. In terms of cleaning power, it really does perform well. It lifted old spots off my car seats and handled juice, food stains, and dirt without much effort. The suction is strong, and the included cleaning solution works quickly.
However, there are a few things that keep this from being a 5-star product for me. First, it is very loud, much louder than I expected for a portable cleaner. If you’re sensitive to noise or using it indoors while others are around, just be prepared.
My biggest issue is the battery life. It’s advertised as cordless and convenient, but the battery drains fast. I had to charge it after each car seat, which was frustrating because it interrupted the cleaning process. For bigger jobs or multiple seats, you’ll definitely need patience or frequent charging breaks.
Overall, it’s powerful and easy to use, but the noise level and short battery life make it less practical than I hoped. If Shark improves the battery performance, this would be an amazing product. For now, it’s good, but not great.

Non-soaking effective spot cleaner

This Shark Stainforce spot cleaner is super handy for my area rugs and furniture stains. I have an older area rug that is my dog’s favorite lounging spot. I ended up with a nice sized stain after he ate something that didn't agree with him recently. He was recently sick which resulted in a stain on the rug. Although I scrubbed away most of the stain with a brush and cleaner, the spot was still faintly visible. I also had a fresh orange juice spill on the same rug that needed cleaning as well. I used the Stainforce to clean both stains.
The cordless rechargeable Shark cleaner is easy to operate and maneuver. It doesn't have any hoses, there's no built-in sprayer, and it doesn't require any pre-filling with water or solution. It ships with a bottle of dual formula cleaning solution with a reusable spray pump. To spot clean, I spray the liquid on the stain, scrub the stain with the nozzle brush, and suction up the liquid. The machine successfully cleaned both the set-in pet stain and the fresh juice spill. I especially like that it cleans without soaking the rug with excessive liquid. I rate the suction a 4/5 and the brush works well for manual scrubbing.
The suction effectively picks up lint and hair, but some debris tends to stay caught in the lower bristles rather than being fully pulled into the device. On the positive side, the bristles fluffed up the old carpet fibers without causing any fraying or pilling. Motor noise is loud but thankfully the motor only runs for a portion of the cleaning process. I try to limit the time spent with the suction motor running so I don't terrorize my dog or disturb others in the vicinity.
The return tank has a built-in easy-pour side and the front brush/nozzle can be taken apart for rinsing. I clean, flush and rinse the components after every use to prevent dirt buildup. It's simple and effective maintenance. The main unit, cleaning liquid and accessories are housed inside a dedicated storage caddy that keeps everything neatly stored together and able to be discretely tucked away until needed. A charging cable is also included for charging the cleaner.
The Stainforce is fantastic for pet stains and small spills. It's a solid choice for pet owners and those dwellings with mainly area rugs, throw rugs or small spot cleaning needs. It's also good on furniture and vehicle interiors. I was curious whether I could use other cleaning solutions, so I sought out the answer on Shark's website. it was there I read that using other cleaning products in the unit "will invalidate your products warranty". Looks like I will be sticking with Shark's cleaner which thankfully isn't bad and has been sufficiently effective so far.

What a unique and capable stain removing tool! I don’t have kids but I do make kid style messes… I love that it’s compact, small and designed to grab and go. So even though I don’t have a mess everyday, when I do, I got a tool to take care of it. Out of the box, I loved how shark has detailed and easy to follow instructions. A QR code takes you to all the how to videos. NOTE: This is not a clean the whole carpet tool…this is for Oops a drop of ketchup landed on my chair or rug. It’s also a system per se as that you have the power spray you need to use as well, scrub with the scrub head (which is awesome and has bristles on one side and fins on the other for hard surfaces… Genius!) then suck it up. There are also two procedures, one for wet stains and one for dry stains. Basically similar but with wet stains suck up first…with dry stains scrub first with the spay. The instructions make it super easy. So since I did not have any stains today…I went to the store and bought a bright white bathroom carpet mat! I always wanted to do a tv style test and review and so with a white bathroom carpet mat in hand, some ketchup, coffee, orange juice and grape jelly in hand I was off (See pics). Those are the most likely culprits that would stain my stuff! I laid the white carpet mat down and commenced to stain (it felt so wrong). I did a really big glob of each and not just a few drops! I imagined I was at the breakfast nook and spilled the offenders on my light grey furniture fabric! I would run and grab the Shark StainForce and pray! So back to the white carpet mat…I dabbed the ketchup and jelly with a paper towel (Now it should be noted that Shark said on wet spills to suck up first so as not to spread the stain…BUT I wanted worst case scenario). Now to be fair, If it was on my furniture I would have dabbed very carefully and followed the instructions to the T, but since this was a test…. I dabbed a way and pushed the ketchup and jelly deep into the fibers. I wanted to see just how good the Shark StainForce was (see pics of dabbed stains). I wanted to know the limits! The first pass was really impressive. The power that this little guy has is really remarkable for such a small unit! I mean it was POWERFUL! It tore through the stains!!! It was really like you see on TV. Now I could still see the ketchup a bit…that one was really tough. But the jelly, OJ came right up like on the first pass! The coffee was the next to fall with the second round! Really remarkable. The bathroom mat is bright white and these stains were worst case scenario and the StainForce really worked! By the third round the ketchup was still hanging on but it was 95% better. I am busy so after understanding that this Shark StainForce was more than capable of going head to head with the worst of the worst and coming out the winner I stopped. So to be fair the ketchup was a little visible but I know I could have gotten it all the way if I really Worked on it a while! So to double treat all four stains and extra work on the ketchup I used about half of the bottle of the spray cleaner. Note: Even if the ketchup did not come out all the way…It was 95% better than water and a towel!!! So even if the stain if catastrophic…Shark is your best bet for immediate remediation! NOW… the cleaning of the unit! ….you have to disassemble it! It’s easy but I had to get the instructions out again. It has a basic clean where your fill up the cup in the carrying cady and jet water through the system. The full clean (See pics) has you cleaning the filters, the dirty water chamber ect and you must let it dry completely. You also have to recharge it to full after drying and use. It was easyish but totally worth it for the amazing job it did! In summary…It is compact, easy to store and super powerful! It really does what its designed to do and does it incredibly! If you have kids or are just prone to a spill here and there and you have nice furniture or carpets….YOU GOTTA ADD THIS to you arsenal of clean!!! Bravo Shark! Awesome product!

I own Shark’s full-sized upright vacuum, but I found the setup, cleaning, and teardown to be such a massive hassle that I often begrudgingly used it. I wanted something small, portable, and easy to use, and the StainForce fits the bill perfectly. It comes with a carrying tote that holds the cleaner, attachment heads, and vacuum all in one, making it ultra-portable.
PERFORMANCE:
The suction power is impressive, but be warned: it is LOUD. I had to grab my AirPods with noise-canceling turned on; the entire household will likely hear you working. The agitation (scrubbing) works well, and you can flip the tool over for a softer brush. It also features a debris trap to catch dog hair, which is a neat addition.
I cleaned a few large mouse pads, and the stains were removed effectively. I also tackled a spot where my dog had an accident, and it was easy peasy to clean. Note that the dry time takes a while; the machine performs extraction (sucking up liquid) to speed up drying, but the carpet won’t be instantly dry. You will need to make several passes to get the best benefit. A single swipe isn't enough.
I’ve used Shark’s products extensively. The pre-mixed cleaning solution smells OK and performs well. But this scent wasn’t as good as some of their other ones.
SETUP & TEARDOWN:
You simply grab the tote, spray the spot, agitate it with the brush, turn on the suction to extract the liquid, and you’re done. It is incredibly convenient for parents or pet owners dealing with frequent small spills.
Cleanup is surprisingly easy. The tote includes a removable bucket that allows you to cycle fresh water through the hose to flush it out. You can also disassemble the unit to clean each part individually for those more complex messes. As a dude, I appreciated this; it felt like playing with electrical Legos. I recommend fully disassembling it to let it air dry and prevent odors. The whole teardown and rinse process takes 5–10 minutes max.
BATTERY LIFE:
Charging takes about four hours, which is quite long. I’d like this to be shorter. But since the battery is inside the handle I’m not sure how easy it is to replace and slower charging means less wear and tear. The battery yields about 10–20 minutes of runtime. This is standard for the category, but something to be aware of.
PROS
- True Portability: The included tote houses the unit, vacuum, and heads, making it much easier to grab than a full-size upright.
- Effective Agitation: The scrub brush (with the flip-to-soft option) breaks down stains effectively.
- Easy Maintenance: With it being a fancy electrical Lego, it allows for full disassembly, making it easy to rinse out bacteria and odors.
- Pet Features: The integrated hair trap prevents clogs when cleaning up after pets.
- Not a lot of difference between this and the big vacuum I own. Other than runtime.
CONS:
- Sound/loudness: It is significantly loud; hearing protection or noise-canceling headphones are recommended.
- Battery Efficiency: A 4-hour charge time for 10–20 minutes of runtime requires planning ahead. Or pulling out the big vacuum with a cord if it is going to be a lot of spots or one that needs a lot of work.
- Manual Effort: It is not a "one swipe" magic eraser; it requires multiple passes for proper extraction and cleaning. The handle design doesn’t make this super easy. But with the device being so small you can kind of grab wherever is comfortable to apply enough pressure.
- Cost: It is expensive. But I think worth it if you find yourself cleaning messes on a semi-regular basis.

TLDR: Lacks power of uprights, but oh so convenient.
IMPRESSIONS
I'm very lucky to have been able to try and use many of Shark's vacuums over the past few years. From corded dirt fighting uprights, to convenient cordless stick vacuums, each one has gotten better and better with each new generation being released. I was looking forward to trying the StainForce, hoping it would continue my good experience with Shark products.
I've owned a large, upright, corded carpet cleaner for many years now. I've literally cleaned miles of carpets with it. Between fall cleanings and spring cleanings it's seen its share of use. However, when it comes to spot cleaning, it isn't the machine for that. It is large and cumbersome, not to mention it takes roughly 10 minutes to get set-up and at least 10 minutes to clean and empty the machine again for storage. It is a hassle. So much so that I never get it out anymore for spot cleaning. I rely on some carpet spray and a microfiber towel. That too is always been a mixed bag. While the carpet spray usually attacks the stain fairly well, blotting and scouring with a brush or towel just often seems to just spread the stain, making for even more work.
USE
The Shark dual-formula cleaning solution is as good or better than any stain remover on the market. So far, it hasn't failed to remove any stains I've used it on. From coffee, to cola, pet stains, to random food spills, it been very effective at lifting away stains. Granted success depends upon what caused the stain and condition of your carpet or upholstery. Some particularly stubborn stains have required a couple of treatments, but the dual-formula cleaner has still managed to work its magic.
The key to it all is Shark's StainForce vac. It is so convenient to use. No more hassling with a big, bulky upright to spot clean something. Spray your stain with Shark's dual-formula spray, let it set a bit, hit it with a hard bristle brush, if needed, and then the StainForce comes in and sucks all the mess up. I love it. You no longer have a huge wet spot on your floor or couch for hours. Not to mention, you don't have all that spray and dissolved stain just sitting there drying. The StainForce gets it up and out of your fibers.
I've had particularly good luck with the StainForce in my car. Even with my self-sealing coffee cups, I always seem to find a way to spill a few drops on the car seat. Never fails. The StainForce makes for a quick and easy way to get the coffee spots off the seat & because it vacuums up a majority of the leftover moisture, the car be driven in a few minutes as opposed to an hour waiting for the seat to dry. It works great.
Once done, cleanup of the StainForce takes literally a minute. The StainForce even cleans itself! Empty the dirty solution tank of your stain, pour some clean water in the caddy, put the StainForce back in its slot & sure enough, it sucks up the clean water and rinses itself out! So awesome!
Between accidents from an adopted rescue cat, to coffee stains in the car, to clumsily eating dinner in front of the TV, the Shark StainForce has proven its worth in its limited time in this house. The Shark StainForce cordless spot cleaner is another great addition to the Shark family of household cleaners.

## Design
The design of the Shark StainForce Cordless Spot Cleaner is both well thought-out and convenient. Everything you need sits in the caddy, making it an ideal grab-and-go solution whenever stains happen. The vacuum itself sits on one side of the caddy, while the cleaning solution sits on the other side.
Since the handheld vacuum is cordless, you don't need to worry about the stain being located near a convenient outlet (something that I struggled with when using my Little Green Machine). You can think of it as a hand vac made for a liquid mess.
## Performance
Although I love dogs, I don't actually have a pet of my own. However, I enjoy watching my friends' pets when they're out of town, but bringing them to my house usually means doggie anxiety and little accidents in my home, no matter how many times their owners tell me that they "never go in the house." Previously, I would have to grab my Little Green Machine from the garage, find where I put the cleaning solution bottle, add the solution to the tank with water, find an outlet for it, and begin the cleaning task.
Now, I feel better prepared to tackle messes and the occasional spill because the stain-fighting cleaning spray and spot cleaner vacuum are stored together in the convenient caddy. I can just use the spray bottle immediately without worrying about putting it in a tank first. I can then use the brush on the end of the Shark StainForce vacuum to scrub the stain loose and suck it up simultaneously.
The Shark StainForce is also self-cleaning. Simply fill up the insert in the caddy with water and run it through the vacuum. This helps run clean water through the filters and tank and get a majority of the gunk out, but you'll still need to wipe down the parts after an especially dirty job.
I tried the Shark StainForce cleaner on a dirt spot on our basement carpet that our full-size carpet cleaner hasn't been able to lift. After two passes with the carpet cleaner spray and the spot cleaner vacuum, I'm definitely seeing an improvement in the 3 year old stain. Likely a few more passes will have significantly lifted the stain, if not have eliminated it completely.
In addition to the wide scrubber attachments, a more narrow crevice tool is also included to spills on the sofa, in tight corners, or if you simply need more suction power for the job at hand. The brush on the scrubber attachment can easily be removed to clean, and it can be flipped over to expose a more gentle rubber scrubber.
## Battery Life
I fully charged the battery and found that the new StainForce lasted at least 8 minutes which was long enough to clean the spot I was working on. The Shark StainForce still had plenty of suction power left to tackle the next stain. I believe the manufacturer states the battery can last about 15 minutes on a full charge.
My one gripe is that there is no place for the charging cord in the caddy. I have a feeling I'm going to misplace the charger in no time. Otherwise, the Shark StainForce spot cleaner did not disappoint me in both its ease-of-use and its effectiveness.
## Summary
You can think of the Shark StainForce as a little hand vac made for liquids. You can tell that Shark put some thought into this unit by making sure everything (except the charger) fits in one convenient grab-and-go caddy. It also helps reduce waste as the sprayer is reusable and you only need to purchase new "tanks" that go on the bottom of the sprayer when it is time for a refill. I really like the cordless design and the battery life on this spot cleaner is more than sufficient for most spills.

Great portable spot cleaner

We've used a very wide variety of upright and spot carpet cleaners. Several of them are actually the Shark brand. I like Shark for the quality of their products as well as the straight forward way they work. My wife and I have a cat that occasionally (like all cats) has hairball issues. Hence our need for spot carpet cleaners. It's actually not the hairball that's the problem, it's the dye in any cat food that ultimately stains the carpet.
I've ended up having to wait a little longer to review the StainForce because I was sure our cat would give us a reason to try it out pretty quickly, but being a cat, she has her own agenda. I was a little skeptical about a carpet cleaner of this small and battery powered size. But in the end Shark put my mind at ease with how well this cleaner works. The majority of the actual cleaning is done with the two part cleaning solution and not the machine itself. This is a similar setup that their upright carpet cleaner uses. For the StainForce system you get a unique trigger sprayer top piece that accepts replacement, two part solution bottles. The trigger dispenses both parts simultaneously with each squeeze of the trigger. One part of the solution is a deep cleaner, and the other one is an “Oxy multiplier”. The solution works really well at dissolving stains (either fresh or already dry).
What the machine buys you is a way to scrub the solution into the stain and then vacuum it up. The whole process involves just spraying the stain thoroughly, waiting a few minutes for the cleaner to work, then scrubbing it with the brush end and vacuuming up any moisture along with the stain. It's quick and easy. If you're not satisfied with the result, you can repeat the procedure for deeper cleaning. I had really good luck removing stains around my air ducts (since my cat wouldn't cooperate). Forced air HVAC systems always end up with dark areas around the floor vents. Mine came pretty clean after just one application. I have every confidence that using it on any cat stains will work just as well because we also have the upright Shark carpet cleaner that uses the same solution. The vacuum portion works surprisingly well given it's small size. No carpet cleaner vacuums up 100% of the moisture and this one is no exception, but it leaves the carpet only damp and not wet. I was amazed at how black the reclaimed water was. There are two scrubber attachments. One is pretty narrow for small or hard to reach stains, the other is broader and better for normal use. There's also an included rubber scrubber that can be swapped out for the brush.
Emptying the machine is clean and easy. There's actually a plug on the bottom side of the reservoir tank that you can just flip open and empty into a sink. For more thorough cleaning, everything comes apart very easily and can be rinsed clean. There's also an auto self wash feature that works pretty well and is super easy. I never had any problem with battery life and the battery comes with a charger. I love how portable the whole system is. It's all self contained in the caddy, just grab it and take it to the stain.

Fast-acting, suction-powered, active stain remover

Shark - StainForce Cordless Portable Spot & Stain Cleaner with Dual-Activated Cleaning Solution - Model: HX101. Don’t confuse this “purpose-focused” appliance for the very similar Shark hand vacuums. This Shark device specializes in (mostly) wet stains, although one of its two heads will capture reasonably small-sized dry particles. We’re looking at the StainForce as our emergency cleanup kit. In our home, we made decisions about dining room chairs, family room sofa and chair surfaces, and lush rugs that, in retrospect, are all cleaning nightmares waiting to happen. Lovely, pale green velour dining chairs? Leather-look microfiber sofas? Every rug is a design of silk, wool, or other natural material. Good grief.
THE KIT: Shark has provided a precisely designed caddy (15” x 10” x 5.5”) that stores approximately 6 lbs of tools along with one bottle of solution. The solution bottle has a spray head that pulls from both stain-removing solutions simultaneously to create an effective stain-dissolving and neutralizing mix to pre-soak your crisis scenario. There is a crevice tool, a charging cable/brick. And finally, there is a serious handheld vacuum (20” long) which is able to hold the liquid spill, mess, and stain remover formula. The two heads that fit onto the vacuum include reversible bristles that should be used before and during spraying the cleaner chemicals. The vacuum can be thoroughly rinsed using its own reservoir stored neatly in the caddy when water is added to it. The vacuum can also be completely disassembled for a more thorough cleaning, which Shark (and I) strongly encourage you to do immediately after messy cleanups.
PERFORMANCE: Shark claims success with all types of scary stains, from ketchup to permanent markers!!! Forgive me for not practicing on my home decor. We did a few sample runs on old T-shirts, and this is an impressive cleaner. I even tried it out around my outdoor kitchen where my grease drippings have gotten away from me. The Shark StainForce formula is a potent cleaner.
Shark is honest about its battery use life, suggesting 15 minutes, which was conservative, but we used the vac in only short bursts, with the remaining time used for a low-demand cleaning cycle. This is not a quiet vacuum; no one nearby will be able to stay asleep.
The weight of the StainForce for our older arms requires some effort, and often both hands. But, keep in mind, the vacuum is always resting on a flat surface, even if sometimes vertical. The suction is powerful, drawing liquids so effectively that drying time for fabrics was minimal.
SUMMARY: This Shark StainForce is a portable, easy-to-store, always-ready problem solver. It might also be fairly described as an insurance policy, especially considering the expensive investment we have in our furnishings. We have grandkids and the occasional visiting pet. I’m probably the biggest risk to our furniture because I set up to work, eat, and play anywhere. The stain-removing formula Shark included with its tool is very effective with numerous stains. The tool makes the process easier and more thorough. I can recommend this newest tool from Shark.

ok so i didn’t think i’d be this excited about a stain cleaner but here we are lol. i picked up the Shark StainForce cordless spot cleaner and i’ve already used it WAY more than i expected. this thing is clutch if you have carpets, a car, pets, kids, or honestly just spill stuff like a normal human.
first off, the cordless part is a game changer. no plugging in, no dragging a big machine out of a closet, you just grab it and go. i’ve used it on carpet, rugs, stairs, and my car seats and it’s been super easy every time. the size is perfect too, small enough to store but still feels powerful.
the dual-activated cleaning solution actually works really well. i tried it on coffee, juice, and some mystery stains that have been there for who knows how long and it either fully removed them or made them barely noticeable. spray it, scrub a little, then suck everything up and boom, stain gone or almost gone. super satisfying to watch tbh.
the suction is strong for something this small. it pulls up way more dirty water than i expected and you can actually SEE the mess coming out, which is kinda gross but also reassuring. the brush attachment helps a lot too, especially for set-in spots or pet messes.
battery life has been totally fine for me. i usually clean a few spots at a time and haven’t run out mid-clean yet. and cleanup afterward is easy. empty the tank, rinse it out, and there’s even a way to run clean water through so it doesn’t smell nasty later.
yeah it makes some noise but honestly every cleaner does, and i’ll take a little noise over stained carpets any day. for quick messes, this thing saves so much time compared to scrubbing with towels and spray that barely work.
overall i’m super happy with this purchase. it’s powerful, convenient, and actually gets stains out without a ton of effort. if you’ve been on the fence, just get it. i wish i bought it sooner.

There are so many stain remover claims and products that it gets hard to keep up with, especially when many of them don't work as described. The StainForce, so far, is not part of that group. If you follow the directions, it yields excellent results.
The photos below are a direct test with a coffee stain that has been on my car seat for some time. Within two treatments, the stain was visibly lifted even before fully drying. The process was very simple and took about 15 minutes total.
Some details about the unit itself: a simple but welcome notable is that everything fits in the caddy. Occasionally with vacuums, you'll get great attachments but no place to store them on the unit, leading to clutter. Besides the adapter, it all fits snugly in an easy-to-carry, lightweight package. The unit has powerful suction, good scrubbing attachments, and lots of useful videos and tips. It is as loud as any other handheld vacuum, so don't expect silent operation.
In my usage, I didn't hit a point where I needed to recharge, so battery life appears to be satisfactory.
There are some small issues to be aware of, but they derive more from trial and error. If the stain needs to be treated with the cleaner spray, it must be saturated. After you have used the StainForce, remove it immediately and wipe the nozzle, as a few drops of suctioned liquid may fall onto your newly cleaned surface. Secondly, because you have to saturate the area, try to suction up as much as possible, as too much leftover may leave a mark when dried. Both of these happened to me, but both were easily rectified.
Overall, I am impressed with the unit. The spray cleaner is a bit steep, but for the usage, one bottle should last a while under normal conditions. With this, I'm close to tossing out a few products from my cleaning cabinet that this will replace.

Small and powerful spot cleaner

The Shark StainForce is a small and powerful spot cleaner that allows you to quickly take care of stains without having to pull out a big carpet cleaner. Having cats and dogs, the inevitable is bound to happen on a regular basis, from getting sick to muddy paws when it’s been raining, this allows me to address those problems quickly. You get two different cleaning head attachments , the stain eliminator and the crevice tool. When using the unit, it’s not as loud as you would think. The cleaning solution comes in a proprietary bottle and sprayer. Replacement solution runs $24.99 on Sharks website for a two pack. After you use the device to clean a stain, you add a small amount of water to the caddy and turn the device on, and it automatically cleans it . This is something I’ve never seen before and I like it a lot as it makes keeping the device clean easy. The Shark StainForce is another innovative product from Shark that just makes life that much easier especially if you have pets or little ones. If you want something that allows you to quickly address stains and spills, the StainForce is the way to go.

Compact but Powerful!

The StainForce Portable Spot Cleaner has a very powerful suction for its size. I appreciate how compact it is, and it makes cleaning places like the stairs or your car so much easier. The biggest drawback for me is that I didn’t realize that the unit is battery-powered only. I would have appreciated the ability to use it with battery power or to have the cable plugged in. The last thing you want after spraying the area is to have the cleaner out of battery.
Another thing that makes this cleaner different is that it doesn’t have a tank for clean water. Essentially, you spray the stain or spot with the spray solution, and then you just vacuum the area. The refill solution without the sprayer costs around $25 for 2-packs. The good thing with not diluting the cleaning solution into a clean water tank like most cleaners is that your carpet is not left as soaked.
The only other drawback is where the spout to drain the dirty solution is located. It’s not on the bottom of the canister like most cleaners, so it makes draining the dirty solution more challenging than it needs to be.
Overall, it does a very good job of cleaning stains and spots.

Mostly Pointless

I've owned more carpet cleaners than I can count, each to various orders of success. I tend to like shark devices and own a number of them myself. This is one of the worst.
Packaging:
Mostly straightforward, although in this world of USB-C cables and chargers, coming with a proprietary barrel plug charger seems strange at this point. It's packed with a bottle of the spot cleaner as well which is clearly just a method of keeping buyers coming back.
Use:
You're supposed to soak the area with the bottle of spray cleaner it comes with, let it sit, then use the tool to pull it up. In practice if the spot isn't *very* fresh, it doesn't really seem to do anything useful. It would make more sense to soak it with water then add the cleaner then use the tool to pull up the stain or spot. The use of the cleaner just seems excessive. And again it really doesn't seem to clean well.
Overall:
For the price there are much better options. I would strongly recommend something else designed for spot cleaning.

Hello Beradon, thank you for your review and for bringing this to our attention. We’re disappointed to hear about your experience. You mentioned that while you tend to like Shark devices and own several, this carpet cleaner was one of the worst, with issues like the proprietary charger, the spot cleaner process feeling excessive, and overall poor cleaning performance. You highlighted many areas where we can improve, and we truly appreciate feedback like this as we continue working to deliver better products and experiences for our customers. Kind regards, Shark Clean

I have loved all of the Shark products we’ve bought, this one included. I bought this to clean my son’s car seat easier than with our Shark carpet xpert cleaner. This handheld makes it a thousand times easier to clean up messes and stains in my car. Despite being a handheld, it has great suction power. I also love how it has a self-cleaning feature. All around, this stain cleaner makes life easier for us. It was definitely worth the money, and I highly recommend it to anyone considering buying it!

Not what I was expecting but am glad we have it, although it’s a bit pricey. I don’t know why I was expecting it to be a handheld wet vac but it’s more a spot treater that sucks up stains. It’s portable (wireless) so that’s always a plus and it’s not too difficult to clean up after use.

I love the idea of this product. Small and cordless making it easy to store and grab for quick cleanups. Suction was decent… not quite as strong as I’d thought it would be. I found that I had to push rather hard to get good suction, I needed to use 2 hands so I could push the end into the carpet. This with the length, made it uncomfortable to use. Not a terrible product just not as useful/convenient as I was hoping it would be.

Hi Mel,
Thank you for sharing your experience with the StainForce. We’re glad you liked the compact, cordless design for quick cleanups, but we’re sorry to hear that the suction and comfort didn’t meet your expectations. Your feedback is really valuable to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it.

Great product for spot cleaning! We have a two year old who is starting to draw with markers everywhere and this does a great job in getting the spot out in a pinch.

The battery seems to be fine, but don't linger. Get your job done quickThe spray and everything gets to be a pain in the butt already to buy cause it, Don't seem to last that long. But the quality is good

This is the best thing since sliced bread. Easy to use. Easy to carry. Great for people with kids, dogs, and a wine drinking problem.
